Hulu's Best New Show Lands A 100% Rotten Tomatoes Critic Score

Dope Girls If you are currently working your way through your streaming services, trying to find something to watch, it turns out Hulu has a new series that's starting out reviewing especially strong. That would be Dope Girls, the series that originally aired on the BBC, but has now made its way to Hulu, and it currently has a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score from a limited number of critics. While this may sound like some sort of modern day drug-dealing drama, it's the opposite. Rather, it chronicles a much different type of tale. Here's the synopsis: If you think you recognize the actress who plays Kate, you are almost certainly right. That is Julianne Nicholson, and while you may not know her name, if you have watched Hulu's other big show this year, the now Emmy-nominated Paradise, you'll know her as the (mostly) villainous Sinatra, the force of power behind the entire city. And she also got an Emmy nomination for that role. Nicholson is recognizable from a slew of projects. She's been in 13 movies and shows since 2020 alone, including The Outsider, Mare of Easttown, Blonde, The Amateur and Hacks, in addition to Paradise and Dope Girls. Dope Girls, however, is a rare chance where she's been given the opportunity to lead a production, and clearly that has gone well. Dope Girls Dope Girls, the six-episode series, appears to be a one-and-done, based on a 1991 book, Dope Girls: The Birth of the British Drug Underground, written by Marek Kohn. Here's what some critics are saying about the series: These are mostly UK outlets, so now that the show has made its way to Hulu, more reviews may start to come in, as might an audience score, as it doesn't have one of those yet. As for Nicholson's main project, Paradise, that has been renewed for season 2 and is supposed to be out sometime in 2026. It was nominated for four Emmys: Best Drama, Best Lead Actor (Sterling K Brown), Best Supporting Actor (James Marsden) and Best Supporting Actress (Nicholson). I would be a little surprised if it won any of those, given how steep the competition is in the drama categories, but hey, this is a pretty big achievement for both a Hulu show and something in the post-apocalyptic genre. What were we talking about? Oh right, watch Dope Girls. Follow me on Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram. Pick up my sci-fi novels the Herokiller series and The Earthborn Trilogy.

Fans rejoice as Line of Duty ‘confirms return'

Adrian Dunbar, who portrays Ted Hastings in Line of Duty, has stated that the crime drama is poised to return next year. Dunbar revealed he was frustrated by the previous series finale, which revealed the identity of 'H' as Detective Superintendent Ian Buckells. Despite attracting a record 12.8 million viewers, the finale was widely criticised by audiences as disappointing. Creator Jed Mercurio is currently writing new scripts, and Dunbar hopes the BBC will soon make an official announcement regarding the show's return.

'Star Trek' Actress: 'William Shatner Was Interesting, Let's Put It That Way'

'Star Trek' Actress: 'William Shatner Was Interesting, Let's Put It That Way' originally appeared on Parade. The original Star Trek TV series ran for just three seasons between 1966 and 1969 on NBC, though it spawned dozens of TV shows and films that followed. But the original still holds a special place in fans' hearts. The original series starred Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley, Nichelle Nichols, George Takei and as the crew of the USS Enterprise, but it also welcomed many memorable guest stars over its three seasons. One such notable guest star is of Father Knows Best, The Andy Griffith Show and The Odd Couple. She appeared in the season 2 episode "Metamorphosis," in which she played Assistant Federation Commissioner Nancy Hedford on a peacekeeping mission. In the episode, Hedford has contracted Sukaro's disease, which will eventually kill her, but the team discovers a man named Zefram Cochrane (Glenn Corbett) marooned on an unknown planet with an entity made up of electrical energy that restored his youth and keeps him young. In the end, Hedford ends up merging with the entity and remaining with Cochrane on the planet where they can have a life and live out their remaining years together. In a new interview with Woman's World, Donahue, 88, reflects on her memorable Star Trek appearance, including what it was like working with Shatner, with whom she shared most of her scenes. 'I went to a Star Trek convention in Las Vegas a few years ago, and that was quite amazing, although Star Trek certainly became a phenomenon very early on. You could see that that was going to have legs for a long time. And William Shatner was interesting, let's put it that way," said goes on to say that he was "a little tough" on her because she was nervous in the dress rehearsal. "He was a little tough on me in the beginning, because, like I said, I'm not good at rehearsals, I think I scare people or used to scare people in rehearsals, 'cause it always seemed to me as though they thought that I wasn't going to be able to do it right. I guess I kind of pull that out of the fire at the last minute. "He got a little annoyed with me during the table read, and the director said, 'Just leave her alone, will you?' But it was fine. He saw that I was professional about my work and giving my best. That's all you can ask somebody, is to do their best, and it's what I've always tried to do," said also added that she and Shatner "ended up getting along fine." Donahue also reflected on her decades-long career in show business, saying that her life "sounds quite unbelievable" at times. "If I were hearing it from someone, I'd say, 'Oh come on, that can't possibly be true.' But all told, it was all just so magical. Honestly, I've had a lot of fun," said Donahue. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 'Star Trek' Actress: 'William Shatner Was Interesting, Let's Put It That Way' first appeared on Parade on Jul 26, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jul 26, 2025, where it first appeared. Amazon Is Developing a WOLFENSTEIN TV Series From FALLOUT and WESTWORLD Producers — GeekTyrant

The world of Wolfenstein is coming to life on the small screen thanks to Amazon MGM Studios, which is developing a TV series based on the legendary video game franchise, and fans of alternate-history Nazi-slaying adventures should be very excited. Details about the plot are still under wraps, but the official logline reads: 'The story of killing Nazis is evergreen.' That perfectly sums up what makes Wolfenstein such an enduring and thrilling property. The series will be spearheaded by Patrick Somerville, who will serve as creator, writer, executive producer, and showrunner under his banner. Somerville has an impressive track record in genre-bending TV, having created Maniac for Netflix and the critically acclaimed Station Eleven for HBO Max. He also wrote for The Leftovers . Backing him up are Jonathan Nolan, Lisa Joy, and Athena Wickham of Kilter Films, the same powerhouse team behind Amazon's hit Fallout series and HBO's Westworld . They'll executive produce alongside James Altman of Keyframe Films and Jerk Gustafsson from Wolfenstein developer MachineGames. The Wolfenstein franchise is a cornerstone of gaming history, helping define the first-person shooter genre. The games follow U.S. soldier William 'B.J.' Blazkowicz as he infiltrates Nazi strongholds during World War II only to uncover their twisted experiments, occult rituals, and attempts to reshape reality. The series began with Castle Wolfenstein in 1981 as a top-down adventure, but it exploded in popularity with Wolfenstein 3D in 1992, which set the standard for FPS games. Since then, there have been 14 titles in the franchise, including the most recent VR experience, Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot . The franchise is currently developed by MachineGames and published by Bethesda Softworks. A Wolfenstein movie was announced back in 2012 but nothing ever happened with it. Now, this series will, hopefully, give fans the adaptation they've been waiting for. If this moves forward, Wolfenstein will join Amazon's growing lineup of video game adaptations. Kilter Films is already riding high with Fallout , which is set to launch its second season in December and has a third season locked in. Meanwhile, Amazon is building out its gaming universe with projects based on Mass Effect , God of War , and Warhammer 40,000 with Henry Cavill. As for Somerville, he's a longtime fan of the games, he brings a unique creative edge and a love for immersive storytelling. In addition to his TV credits, he's a published novelist with works like The Cradle and The Bright River . No word yet on casting or a release date, but this has the potential to be something truly badass. Source: Vareity
