Dawood Ibrahim close aide was madly in love with actress, opened fire at producer, wanted to marry her, she is now..., her name is..., not Mandakini
Being a Bollywood actress is a hard job. From auditions to looks approval, there are many processes one needs to go through. During this process, many actresses become stars, while others still struggle to make it big. This is precisely what happened with Monica Bedi, a gifted actress and dancer who experienced fame but also endured a significant downfall. Who is Monica Bedi? Born on January 18, 1975, Monica Bedi came from a family of doctors. She has a younger brother named Bobby. In 1979, Monica, along with her family, moved to Norway, where she completed her education in English Literature at Oxford University. Why was Monica Bedi Not Interested in Acting? In the initial years of her life, Monica Bedi was not really interested in acting as she adored dancing. She moved to Mumbai to train in classical dance under renowned teacher Gopi Guru. It was during one of these sessions that veteran actor and filmmaker Manoj Kumar spotted her talent. From there onwards, she landed a major role in a film opposite Manoj's son Kunal Goswami. Later in 1995, Monica got her big break when she featured in the Telugu film Taj Mahal (1995), produced by D. Rama Naidu. Monica Bedi's Underworld Connection During one of her visits to Dubai, Monica met underworld figure Abu Salem, who is also Dawood Ibrahim . The two became good friends, and the bond eventually turned into romance. Reports claim that Abu used his influence to get Monica good scripts, helping her land roles in films like Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat, Tada, and Jodi No. 1. Abu was involved in producer Mukesh Duggal's murder when he opened fire on him. Why Did Monica Bedi Go to Jail? As Monica's relationship with Abu Salem deepened, she decided to leave Bollywood and traveled to Portugal. However, the two were arrested for using fake documents to enter the country. They spent 2.5 years in a Portuguese prison before being deported to India. As reported by Hindustan Times, Monica was initially sentenced to five years in prison by a CBI court, but the Andhra Pradesh High Court later reduced her term to three years. She ultimately served five years behind bars between 2002 and 2007 before being released.

PHV driver calls Tada user 'entitled' for booking 4-passenger ride service and asking for 6-seater vehicle
PHV driver calls Tada user 'entitled' for booking 4-passenger ride service and asking for 6-seater vehicle A private-hire driver posted on Facebook a screenshot of a booking by a Tada user and labelled it as "entitled". Can you tell what the Tada user did to deserve that label? The booking was for a ride from Marina One Residences to Terminal 1 at Changi Airport on June 24 at 6pm. It included a note that read: "Alphard/Vellfire only. Two adults and two babies, three big luggage, two strollers and two baby cots. Please come to the basement as it is easier to load. Thank you." So how was the Tada user being "entitled"? PHOTO: STOMP The problem was that the booking was for AnyTADA. AnyTADA is one of 16 ride services that Tada users can choose from to accommodate different numbers of passengers. The AnyTADA option is for up to four passengers. In this case, there are two adults and two babies, which are four passengers, so AnyTADA appears to be the correct option. But the note also stated: "Alphard/Vellfire only." The Toyota Vellfire and Alphard are minivans that can seat up to six passengers. Since larger vehicles cost more to book, the Tada user seemingly tried to book a six-seater vehicle ride under the category of four-seater vehicles to save money. Stomper Herman, who alerted Stomp to the post in a Facebook group for private-hire drivers, said: "These people are not humans, they are aliens." A netizen commented on the Facebook post: "This is a joker to the maximum. If you want five-star service, pay five-star money. Even at a Kopitiam, we must pay 50 cents for a glass of water." Others joke that they should have booked a ride from a moving company. "It seems more like a delivery service than picking up passengers," said one commenter. Stomp recently reported on a Tada driver who called out riders who ignore the ride-hailing platform's policies to save money . Ritik Tada, standout performer at MP T20 League who idolises Pandya and Kohli, impresses IPL scout
Ritik Tada has a sound hitting technique: he adjusts to length quickly and transfers his weight onto the back foot with ease. Despite his lean frame, Tada delivers powerful strokes. One of his signature shots involves kneeling on his right knee to slash a wide delivery over point for a boundary—a stroke that prompted one Indian Premier League (IPL) scout, watching him in Gwalior during the Madhya Pradesh T20 League, to remark, 'Reminds me of Hardik Pandya.' So far, Tada has been one of the standout performers in the tournament, scoring 173 runs at a staggering strike rate of 216.25. Batting at No. 6, he has hammered 13 sixes and 14 fours off just 80 balls, finding a boundary nearly every three deliveries. After a slow start with scores of 8 and 1, Tada has bounced back in style. He struck an unbeaten 45 off 22 balls and 44 off 19 in successive wins for the Jabalpur Royal Lions. In a chase of 247, he smashed 75 off 30 balls; however, his team fell short by 19 runs. READ: Tripuresh, a wrong-footed menace and death-over specialist, believes in the mantra of backing one's instincts 'I have developed my finishing skills through practice,' Tada told Sportstar. 'I watch a lot of IPL and closely follow finishers, especially Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli, to understand what they do in certain situations and try to apply it in my game.' 'I plan my shots in the death overs based on the situation, the pitch, and who's bowling,' he added. Hailing from the Sehora district in Bhopal, Tada began his training in Indore at the Laxman Singh Gaur Cricket Academy under coach Sachin Dholpure. 'He taught me all the basics of cricket,' said the 22-year-old. Once he had perfected his fundamentals, Tada began playing in the Bhopal division and joined the Faith Cricket Club under former India international Jay Prakash Yadav. 'He has helped me a lot. I have spoken to him recently, and I have applied his inputs to my game.' Though yet to break into the Madhya Pradesh team, Tada remains unfazed by the presence of State selectors and IPL scouts in the stands. 'Rather than trying to impress anyone, I focus on doing well. If I perform, those watching will automatically notice it. I don't try to show off, I just try to do my job for the team.' His long-term goal is clear: to play for India. But in the near future, Tada hopes to earn a place in the MP squad and an IPL contract. 'I don't expect myself to do something extraordinary. My aim is simple: help the team win when I get the chance. I don't just want to make an impact; I want to finish games. That's how I'll approach every game going forward as well.'

Uber warns Hong Kong users of higher fares, longer wait times under proposal
Ride-hailing firm Uber has warned users in Hong Kong of potentially higher fares and longer wait times, and its drivers of possible loss of income, under the government's proposed regulations for online platforms. In an email to its 30,000 drivers and 1.5 million users in Hong Kong, the US-based firm said on Thursday that authorities were considering new rules for ride-hailing platforms which may restrict the number of ride-sharing drivers or vehicles on the road. 'We support efforts to bring more clarity to the industry, but we're concerned about reports that the government may cap the number of drivers or vehicles allowed on the platform,' it said. 'This kind of limit will make it harder for people in Hong Kong to earn [a] flexible income. And for riders like you, it will likely mean longer wait times and higher prices. 'We believe there's a better way. One that puts drivers and riders first, and keeps Hong Kong moving … We would love for you to join our efforts in helping chart the future of mobility in Hong Kong.' In Hong Kong, it is currently illegal for drivers of private vehicles to accept paid customers without a hire-car permit, with many ride-hailing platforms such as Uber, Tada, Amap and Didi Chuxing operating unregulated. Amap is operated by Alibaba Group Holding, which owns the South China Morning Post.
