A 38-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly throwing a glass bottle at a double decker bus along Orchard Road on 5 July. The incident left a 57-year-old female passenger on SMRT service 190 injured. The man is expected to be charged in court on 9 July with the offence of rash act causing hurt. OK Chicken Rice claims a man posed as a delivery rider and stole food from their Havelock Road outlet. The shop posted footage of the incident on its Facebook page and the story was picked up by local media outlets who confirmed police are investigating the case. A 38-year-old man has been arrested in connection to an incident at Orchard Road on the evening of 5 July where a glass bottle was thrown at the window of SMRT bus service 190. The bottle sailed through the window leaving shattered glass and a gaping hole while a 57-year-old woman passenger was injured as a result. She was taken conscious to Raffles Hospital. According to preliminary investigations, the man allegedly threw the JINRO soju bottle – which photos show remains intact –at the double-decker bus from a pedestrian walkway. Officers from the Tanglin Police Division identified the man and arrested him on 8 July. He is expected to be charged in court today with the offence of rash act causing hurt. OK Chicken Rice has called out "people masquerading as riders and stealing food" after a man allegedly stole from the shop's Havelock Road outlet recently. The stall claims, according to multiple reports, that a man dressed in black posed as a delivery rider and stole ready-to-go food orders from them on 28 June around lunchtime. OK Chicken Rice later posted footage of the incident on their Facebook page. Local media confirmed that a police report has been lodged and investigations are ongoing. OK Chicken Rice said they would like to believe that these actions are "merely out of necessity and not malicious or mischievous" in intent. "If you're going through a tough time and need a meal, please don't hesitate to reach out, we'll be more than happy to provide you with food," read the statement. "If you're looking for work, feel free to contact us as well. We'd love to explore how we can support you with a job opportunity."
