Tata Harrier EV Stealth Edition: What's different The special Stealth edition of the SUV comes with a host of unique features and additions for the extra money. These include a special 'Matte Stealth Black' exterior paint job, R19 'Piano Black' alloy wheels with aero inserts, 'Carbon Noir' leatherette seats, and a 'Carbon Noir' interior theme. The rest of the SUV remains the same in terms of performance and features, depending on the variant opted for. The interior of the Tata Harrier EV Stealth edition gets a completely blacked-out appearance. Tata Harrier EV Stealth Edition: Variants and pricing The pricing of the Harrier EV Stealth Edition starts at ₹ 28.24 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Empowered 75 Stealth trim. The Empowered 75 Stealth ACFC can be opted for at a premium of ₹ 49,000, costing ₹ 28.73 lakh (ex-showroom). Lastly, the Empowered 75 QWD Stealth and Empowered 75 QWD Stealth ACFC can be purchased at ₹ 29.74 lakh and ₹ 30.23 lakh (both ex-showroom), respectively. The Harrier EV, thus, becomes the first electric vehicle and the only vehicle in the Tata Motors portfolio to boast of AWD capabilities. Prior to this, models like the Tata Safari, Hexa and the Aria were the only models from Tata Motors to get 4X4 or AWD capabilities. On the motor front, the Tata Harrier EV in its Stealth Edition is being offered with a 75 kWh battery pack. This 75 kWh battery pack option gets two drivetrain configuration options, including RWD and QWD. The RWD variants churn out 235 bhp and 315 Nm of torque, while the QWD variants produce 391 bhp and 504 Nm of torque. According to MIDC testing, these configurations allow the SUV to cover 627 km and 622 km of tarmac on a single charge. The infotainment system gets wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while the instrument cluster can be used to project maps for better convenience. Other key changes inside the cabin include a new rotary dial to select between six different terrain modes, including Normal, Sand, Mud Ruts, Snow/Grass, Rock Crawl and Custom. Tata Motors recently announced the prices of the QWD. Now, the Indian manufacturer has launched the Stealth Edition of the SUV at a starting price of Rs 28.24 lakh (ex-showroom). This iteration of the vehicle comes with aesthetic changes and is being offered with a 75 kWh battery pack. It will be available in four different trim levels. Specifically, the Empowered 75 Stealth, Empowered 75 Stealth ACFC, Empowered 75 QWD Stealth, and Empowered 75 QWD Stealth ACFC variants. The starting price for the Harrier EV Stealth Edition is Rs 28.24 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Empowered 75 Stealth trim. For an additional Rs 49,000, buyers can choose the Empowered 75 Stealth ACFC, which brings the price to Rs 28.73 lakh (ex-showroom). Additionally, the Empowered 75 QWD Stealth and the Empowered 75 QWD Stealth ACFC are available for Rs 29.74 lakh and Rs 30.23 lakh (both ex-showroom), respectively. On the outside, the Tata Stealth Edition comes with 'Matte Stealth Black' paint scheme. While the rest of the design elements are the same as the standard version of the electric SUV, the design of the 19-inch alloy wheels has been changed. These Piano Black alloy wheels come with aero inserts. Following the same pattern, the interior of the vehicle comes with Carbon Noir leatherette seats and an interior theme. In terms of the motor specifications, the Tata Harrier EV Stealth Edition comes equipped with a 75 kWh battery pack. This 75 kWh battery option is available with two drivetrain configurations: RWD and QWD. The RWD versions generate 235 bhp and 315 Nm of torque, while the QWD versions deliver 391 bhp and 504 Nm of torque. Based on MIDC testing, these configurations enable the SUV to travel 627 km and 622 km on a single charge, respectively. Additionally, the feature list remains the same with elements like a wireless charger, air purifier, powered tailgate, cruise control, dual-zone climate control, a sliding armrest with cooled storage, autonomous parking assistance, summon mode, reverse assistance, various regeneration modes with paddle shifters, a 540-degree surround view (providing a 360-degree perspective and an under-car view for off-road conditions), an HD rearview mirror IRVM, a digital key, and additional features. EV sales in India projected to grow 40% to 1.38 lakh units in 2025: Report
New Delhi: Passenger electric vehicle (EV) sales in India are expected to grow by around 40 per cent in 2025 to reach 1,38,606 units, up from 99,004 units in 2024, according to estimates released by market research and consulting firm Frost & Sullivan. Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) are expected to continue dominating the Indian EV market in 2025, while plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) are projected to account for only 0.1 per cent of sales. The report indicates that fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) have not yet entered the Indian market and BEVs will continue to lead in the near term. 'SUVs and sub-compact SUVs drive the growth of EV sales in India ,' the report noted. As per 2024 data, Tata Punch, Tata Tiago, Tata Nexon, MG Comet, and MG Windsor were the top five EV models in terms of unit sales. Tata Motors led OEM sales in 2024, followed by JSW MG Motor India, Mahindra & Mahindra, BYD India, and PCA India (Citroen). The forecast for 2030 shows that EV sales could reach close to 7 lakh units under a baseline scenario. The report identifies Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, and MG Motor as the leading competitors in the space, operating with different business models. 'EV models will have driver-assist features in premium segments in the near term, however, in the long-term autonomous fleets will operate in gated communities,' the report stated. It further noted that original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) will have to be flexible in their strategies depending on market conditions and charging infrastructure. The report highlights that the Indian EV ecosystem has evolved with the support of various government initiatives such as FAME I, FAME II, Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, PM eBus Sewa, and PM eDrive. The FAME I scheme launched in April 2015 with a budget of ₹795 crore focused on early adoption, followed by FAME II in April 2019 with a budget of ₹11,500 crore to support mass adoption. The PLI scheme introduced in 2021 aims at manufacturing localisation with a ₹44,000 crore outlay. 'Government support is not limited to EV sales but is also focusing on all type of applications such as e2W, e3W, eBuses and charging infrastructure,' the report said. According to the report, India currently has over 25,500 public charging stations hosting about 60,000 connectors. Karnataka, Maharashtra, Delhi, and Tamil Nadu account for the highest number of installed EV chargers. To support future EV penetration, the country will require one charging connector for every five EVs by 2030. On the manufacturing side, the report lists critical challenges such as dependence on imported raw materials for batteries including lithium, nickel and cobalt, limited domestic cell manufacturing capability, and high reliance on battery management systems and power electronics from Chinese, Japanese, and Korean firms. The report also outlines that battery recycling, advanced power electronics, 800V architecture, vehicle-to-grid integration, battery swapping systems, and inductive charging are among the next set of technologies to watch in India's EV transition. The EV market in India is also expected to see the introduction of new technologies such as range extenders and hybrid fuel solutions combining ethanol and battery. The report cites strong indications of the introduction of PHEVs and extended range EVs (eREVs) in the Indian market.
