Advocate Malesela Teffo defends Kelly Khumalo against bullying

In a surprising turn, former advocate Malesela Teffo has stepped forward to defend Kelly Khumalo against ongoing social media harassment. Despite previously accusing Kelly of involvement in Senzo Meyiwa's murder, Teffo now asks fellow South Africans to cease harassing the singer. Last week, Teffo claimed Kelly shot and killed her late partner, Senzo Meyiwa, causing widespread outrage and backlash across platforms. Meyiwa, the former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, was murdered on October 26, 2014, while visiting Kelly's mother's home in Vosloorus. Five men currently face charges in this high-profile case, which has been ongoing for several years without resolution. Although disbarred for misconduct, Teffo continued making wild accusations against Kelly during a recent appearance on Podcast and Chill . Now, he publicly regrets his statements and urges the public to respect the legal process and refrain from harassment. In a video shared by Ntsiki Mazwai on X, Teffo pleaded for kindness and stressed the importance of Kelly's testimony in court. 'I want to make a plea to my countrymen and women in relation to the treatment of Ms Nonhlanhla Kelly Khumalo. I have seen that she has made an attempt to respond to what I said on Podcast and Chill; however, it was not necessarily because I was not fighting. 'Kelly is a very important witness in Senzo Meyiwa's case. We need her to testify. I'm pleading with you to refrain from attacking her and saying nasty things about her.' Teffo says the ' Empini ' singer has never refused to testify, but Advocate George Baloyi continues to avoid calling her to court. He insists Kelly and Longwe Twala could provide crucial evidence that could prove the five accused suspects are innocent beyond doubt. Teffo believes both hold key facts that expose the truth and potentially clear the wrongly accused men completely. He maintains the suspects are innocent and claims the real killers remain free due to failures in the initial investigation. 'I assure you that I'm going back to this case. I will call Kelly Khumalo, and within two months, the case will be closed with the truth on this matter. It's my humble plea that we respect Kelly,' says Teffo. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS? 'Come and get me!': Kelly Khumalo WARNS Advocate Teffo

Kelly Khumalo has sent a warning to Advocate Malesela Teffo to refrain from bringing up her name during his interview on the Podcast and Achill. The singer and traditional healer has been roped into the death of the late soccer player, Senzo Meyiwa, her boyfriend. The former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper was murdered on 26 October 2014, while visiting Kelly's mother's house in Vosloorus. Five men are facing charges in the high-profile murder trial, which has dragged on for several years. In 2002, Teffo was struck off the roll after being found guilty of misconduct. In a video message posted on Instagram, Kelly Khumalo warns Advocate Teffo, who has been vocal in accusing her of being behind Senzo Meyiwa's death. Speaking directly to the outspoken former lawyer, she sai,: 'Enough is enoug. Itt stops here and it stops toda., I'm not going to be diplomatic about it, release press statement,s or waste money hiring lawyers to speak on my behalf. 'If you strongly believe that I am capable of what you accuse me of, it's very simple: come get me. I'm not above the law'. She added, 'I've had enough of you people dragging my name through the mud. Till then, back off.' Kelly Khumalo captioned the clip: 'From being dragged in that dirty court to sketchy podcasts? You never cease to amaze me.' On Thursday, 17 July, Advocate Teffo appeared in a tell-all interview on Podcast and Chill. In it, he shared his theories on Senzo Meyiwa's death and high-profile trial. According to Teffo, Senzo died from a bullet, accidentally fired by Kelly Khumalo during a heated argument. At the time, Kelly allegedly confronted the footballer over her suspicions that he was having an affair with her sister Zandie Khumalo, who was dating Longwe Twala. He said: 'I long state further under oath… it was a fatal mistake, Kelly Kumala shot and killed Senzo instantly.' However, Teffo – who defended four of the five men accused – bizarrely added that Senzo Meyiwa's death was a 'sacrifice' Teffo – a former police officer – then went on a wild rant, accusing high-ranking police of running a criminal syndicate, involving ministers and national commissioners. He also touched on his imprisonment for the assault of a female police officer and being bribed to drop out of the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial. 'Kelly Khumalo shot Senzo Meyiwa by mistake': Malesela Teffo

Former advocate Malesela Teffo has made serious allegations against award-winning South African singer Kelly Khumalo. Speaking on a recent episode of Podcast and Chill , Malesela alleged that the singer was the one who shot and killed her late partner, Senzo Meyiwa. The trial of those accused of killing Senzo Meyiwa continues to grip the nation, drawing headlines and intense public interest. Now, former advocate Malesela Teffo has added shocking new accusations to the already explosive case. In an episode of Podcast and Chill that aired on Thursday, 17 July 2025, former advocate Malesela Teffo revealed disturbing details about the events of that fateful evening. Teffo stated that the five accused men currently on trial are completely innocent and claimed he had compelling evidence supporting this. Meyiwa was killed on 26 October 2014 at Kelly Khumalo's Vosloorus home in what was initially reported as a robbery. Instead, Teffo said Meyiwa's death resulted from an accidental gunshot allegedly fired by Kelly after a chaotic scuffle in the house. He claimed Longwe Twala, Zandi Khumalo's ex-boyfriend, brought the gun after suspecting she was romantically involved with someone else. According to Teffo, Longwe intended to intimidate Zandi, but tensions escalated after finding Meyiwa and other men inside the house. Kelly allegedly asked Senzo to take the gun from Longwe. A tussle reportedly ensued, with Senzo eventually overpowering Longwe and handing over the firearm to Kelly. After that, Longwe and Meyiwa briefly stepped outside. When Meyiwa returned, Teffo claimed Kelly accidentally pulled the trigger while handing him the gun. 'When he came back, he said Kelly, letha isibhamu (bring the firearm). Kelly was then going to give the firearm to Senzo, but she was playful,' Teffo said. He suggested that Kelly may have been playfully joking about shooting him when the gun accidentally discharged and shot him. 'When Senzo was about to receive that, that's when the bullet came out,' he added, claiming the bullet pierced Meyiwa's lung. Teffo further claimed that his version of events came from eyewitnesses and his own investigation. He also alleged that he spoke to Longwe Twala in prison. 'What I can tell you is that for sure those five guys are innocent, they've got their good alibis. When I'm talking about alibi, I mean accused numbers one and two — they were in KZN the day Senzo was shot and killed in that house,' he said. Teffo ended with a dramatic claim that eleven lives had been lost in the case and his own safety is at risk. 'I won't die. If they want me dead, they must ask God first,' he said.
