When will New Hampshire get its first snow? What the Farmers' Almanac fall forecast says
It might seem early to start thinking about snow, but the northeast might see its first snow by mid to late October, the Farmers' Almanac predicts. In its extended fall forecast, the Farmers' Almanac called the upcoming season a "flirty, flurry fall." Snow will be a "regular visitor" across much of the north this fall, the Farmers' Almanac said. However, this fall is expected to bring "a little bit of everything," the almanac said, so New Englanders are encouraged to keep an eye on the weather. However, the northeast should be dry and cool when autumn begins on Sept. 22, the Farmers' Almanac said. The tail end of summer could be soggy, with thunderstorms threatening parts of New England, including New Hampshire, over Labor Day weekend, according to the almanac. It said October will bring "familiar" fall weather to the northeast, with locations at higher altitudes "flirting" with early snow. Around the end of October, those partaking in Halloween festivities might need to bundle up in jackets and scarves, according to the Farmers' Almanac. It said Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Maine, Vermont, and Connecticut could see fair skies and then showers on Oct. 31. As October rolls into November, parts of the northeast could experience some wet snow, the almanac said. Although light snow and rain could snarl holiday travel plans to and from the East Coast, the weather might clear up just in time for Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, according to the almanac. The Farmers' Almanac, which is a distinct publication from the Old Farmer's Almanac, has been published annually since 1818. The almanac provides long-range weather predictions, gardening tips, holiday information, and a slew of different calendars for its readers. Plane passenger's foul-mouthed rant at mum who booked first-class seat for child
A shocked mum faced the wrath of an entitled plane passenger who called her a vicious name when he realised she'd booked her three-year-old child a first-class seat An entitled plane passenger erupted into a sweary rant at a mum who booked her toddler a first class seat. The foul-mouthed tirade came as a shock to the parent, who insisted her little girl was well behaved throughout the flight. Every summer, a fierce debate ramps up online over the 'correct' flying etiquette with children - with some less tolerant passengers insisting that kid-free flights should exist. The mum was confident that her three-year-old tot could handle the flight easily, having travelled many times before, but one passenger fumed at the concept of a toddler having a first class ticket, as they hated the thought of sitting next to a child. Taking to Reddit to share her flight ordeal, the mum wrote anonymously: "My husband, toddler (almost 3) and I were flying across the country for Thanksgiving. Since we could afford it due to a nice pay raise my husband recently got, we decided to splurge on 1st class tickets for the trip. "My toddler has always been a good flyer and has flown a lot throughout her short life. She's never been disruptive or cried on an airplane, this flight included. "She's good at staying in her seat and tells us when she a needs to go potty, food, a toy, etc. She stayed seated and quietly playing throughout the flight, only getting up when she had to go potty." Despite the little one being on her best behaviour and not disrupting other travellers, one passenger was seething at the mum for sitting her child in first class - as he complained to the cabin crew on board. The mum explained: "The issue was with another 1st class passenger. We boarded early since my husband is disabled and when another 1st class passenger saw us he started glaring. "We take off and all is good. My kid fell asleep in the middle of coloring [sic], husband is snoozing. I'm listening to music when I get a tap on my shoulder. "It was the guy that glared at us as he boarded and before I could even get a word out he told me that children weren't allowed in 1st class and that we needed to move to our 'real' seats". In a bid to avoid confrontation, the parent asked the flight attendant to deal with the man's complaint, as she felt 'uncomfortable'. Things seemed to get cleared up, but the man was still hot with rage. "The flight attendant came and explained to him that we were in the correct seats that we paid for and asked that he sit back down and not bother us again. He did go back to his seat but as we were getting off the plane he whispered to me that I was a 'fat c***' and that he pays too much money for first class to be surrounded by children." Desperate for advice, the mum concluded: "My kid was the only kid in 1st class and she didn't misbehave or even cry so at first I felt like I was in the right, but after talking to family at Thanksgiving many of them told me that we should book economy next time because people pay extra to relax in 1st class. Are we really a******s for flying 1st class with our toddler?" Many people flocked to the comments section to defend the mum's decision, as one wrote: "Even if your child did cry, it wouldn't have mattered because you paid and are entitled to the seats you paid for... if they don't want to be around children/other people that bad - they should fly private". Another added: "I can understand why he would initially be wary and upset, but he frankly should have calmed the f down once it became apparent that your toddler was just sleeping peacefully like anyone else. "And since you know that your kid is a good flyer, there's no reason not to sit first class if you can".

Dan Niles says investors have to 'forget about' valuations and names his favorite tech stocks
Investors can suspend their focus on price-to-earnings and other multiples as the stock market rises to all-time highs, according to Dan Niles, founding partner of Alpha One Capital Partners. "You kind of have to forget about valuations for now," Niles said on CNBC's "Squawk on the Street." "Then we're going to get to Thanksgiving, and I think things are going to hit a wall. But for right now, I'm really enjoying the ride." Niles' comments come as the S & P 500 rallied to a new record on Friday, the latest milestone in the stock market's dramatic comeback following the April sell-off triggered by President Donald Trump unveiling his tariff policy. Niles said companies should have a good second-quarter earnings season and geopolitics are improving. The Lehman Brothers alum also said he expects the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates, despite his personal belief that the central bank does not need to lower the cost of borrowing. Niles said he's standing by his call for Cisco as a top pick into the second half of this year. The networking equipment maker has sold at multiples below other artificial intelligence plays, and the stock could benefit from a push to invest in the networking side of AI, the money manager said. Cisco shares have climbed more than 16% in 2025, on track for their third straight winning year. The stock hit a 52-week high in Friday's session, its highest since the end of the dot-com bubble in 2000. The majority of analysts have a buy rating on Cisco, according to LSEG. The consensus 12-month price target suggests the stock might rise another 3%. Niles also highlighted Nvidia and Microsoft , saying the two are his favorite members of the Magnificent Seven. Niles said Nvidia is coming off of a major write down and that Microsoft is turning a corner with its Azure business. Both stocks hit all-time highs in Friday's session. Nvidia shares have risen more than 17% so far in 2025 after more than doubling in 2024 and more than tripling in 2023. The consensus rating among Wall Street analysts remains a buy, with the average price target suggesting more than 12% in upside. Shares of Microsoft have jumped about 18%, also placing the stock on track for its third straight winning year. Most analysts also have a buy rating on Microsoft but an average price target implying about 3% upside, according to LSEG. NVDA MSFT YTD mountain Nvidia and Microsoft in 2025

USPS Shares Update For Holiday Season 2025
The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) announced the release of its new holiday-themed and Elie Wiesel commemorative stamps on Thursday, marking preparations for the 2025 holiday season. USPS also confirmed important 2025 stamp release dates, and directed customers to its official sales channels ahead of the holiday surge. The holiday season remains the busiest period for USPS, with hundreds of millions of packages and cards sent between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day. New Holiday Cheer Stamp Designs for 2025 USPS released details of four new holiday-themed stamps, each presented in booklets of 20. The designs feature amaryllis flowers, a holly wreath, an evergreen branch with fruit, and cardinals on mistletoe. The images were created using a collage technique, combining gouache and acrylic paint on vintage gardening book paper, then arranged on archival cotton board. The stamps were designed by Derry Noyes, with original artwork from Denise Fiedler. Elie Wiesel Honored in New Stamp Issue The 18th stamp in the "Distinguished Americans" series honors Elie Wiesel (1928–2016), Nobel Peace Prize laureate and Holocaust survivor. The stamp features a black-and-white photograph from 1999 by Sergey Bermeniev and is designed for 2-ounce mail. Wiesel's decades of writings and advocacy continue to serve as a source of inspiration, the USPS said in its announcement. Release Dates and Ceremony Locations The USPS confirmed release dates and cities for its upcoming specialized stamps. The Holiday Cheer stamps will be available starting September 13 in Washington, D.C., while the Elie Wiesel stamp will debut on September 17 in New York. Additional 2025 USPS stamp releases include tributes to the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps on their 250th anniversaries, a World Stamp Show-themed issue for Boston 2026, and a new American Flag Forever stamp. How to Purchase Holiday and Commemorative Stamps USPS customers may buy stamps online at The Postal Store, by phone, by mail through USA Philatelic, and at select post offices nationwide. Licensed collectible stamp products are also available on Amazon. Operational Plans and USPS Holiday Schedule for 2025 USPS will observe standard federal holiday closures, including no mail delivery on Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Thanksgiving, and other official holidays. The agency encourages customers to plan early for holiday season due to increased parcel volume and potential delays. USPS chief performance officer and executive vice president Joshua Colin said ahead of the holiday season last year: "Thanks to the substantial progress we have made under the Delivering for America plan, we are ready and confident to handle the holiday surge... Our ability to move packages and mail throughout our network has never been stronger. USPS continues to be the most affordable and reliable way to ship packages and mail this holiday season and year-round." Stamp issues planned for the rest of the year include a SpongeBob SquarePants series, a luna moth stamp, and the Boston 2026 World Stamp Show.
