Plane passenger's foul-mouthed rant at mum who booked first-class seat for child

Daily Mirror21 hours ago

A shocked mum faced the wrath of an entitled plane passenger who called her a vicious name when he realised she'd booked her three-year-old child a first-class seat
An entitled plane passenger erupted into a sweary rant at a mum who booked her toddler a first class seat.
The foul-mouthed tirade came as a shock to the parent, who insisted her little girl was well behaved throughout the flight.

Every summer, a fierce debate ramps up online over the 'correct' flying etiquette with children - with some less tolerant passengers insisting that kid-free flights should exist.

The mum was confident that her three-year-old tot could handle the flight easily, having travelled many times before, but one passenger fumed at the concept of a toddler having a first class ticket, as they hated the thought of sitting next to a child.
Taking to Reddit to share her flight ordeal, the mum wrote anonymously: "My husband, toddler (almost 3) and I were flying across the country for Thanksgiving. Since we could afford it due to a nice pay raise my husband recently got, we decided to splurge on 1st class tickets for the trip.
"My toddler has always been a good flyer and has flown a lot throughout her short life. She's never been disruptive or cried on an airplane, this flight included.
"She's good at staying in her seat and tells us when she a needs to go potty, food, a toy, etc. She stayed seated and quietly playing throughout the flight, only getting up when she had to go potty."
Despite the little one being on her best behaviour and not disrupting other travellers, one passenger was seething at the mum for sitting her child in first class - as he complained to the cabin crew on board.

The mum explained: "The issue was with another 1st class passenger. We boarded early since my husband is disabled and when another 1st class passenger saw us he started glaring.
"We take off and all is good. My kid fell asleep in the middle of coloring [sic], husband is snoozing. I'm listening to music when I get a tap on my shoulder.

"It was the guy that glared at us as he boarded and before I could even get a word out he told me that children weren't allowed in 1st class and that we needed to move to our 'real' seats".
In a bid to avoid confrontation, the parent asked the flight attendant to deal with the man's complaint, as she felt 'uncomfortable'. Things seemed to get cleared up, but the man was still hot with rage.
"The flight attendant came and explained to him that we were in the correct seats that we paid for and asked that he sit back down and not bother us again. He did go back to his seat but as we were getting off the plane he whispered to me that I was a 'fat c***' and that he pays too much money for first class to be surrounded by children."

Desperate for advice, the mum concluded: "My kid was the only kid in 1st class and she didn't misbehave or even cry so at first I felt like I was in the right, but after talking to family at Thanksgiving many of them told me that we should book economy next time because people pay extra to relax in 1st class. Are we really a******s for flying 1st class with our toddler?"
Many people flocked to the comments section to defend the mum's decision, as one wrote: "Even if your child did cry, it wouldn't have mattered because you paid and are entitled to the seats you paid for... if they don't want to be around children/other people that bad - they should fly private".
Another added: "I can understand why he would initially be wary and upset, but he frankly should have calmed the f down once it became apparent that your toddler was just sleeping peacefully like anyone else.
"And since you know that your kid is a good flyer, there's no reason not to sit first class if you can".

Disney World fan sparks fierce debate after making major complaint about the beloved theme park

Walt Disney World fans have become embroiled in a heated debate about the transportation at the beloved theme park. A new map breaking down the complimentary transportation offered throughout the massive resort has detailed all the ways that the 130 million annual riders can get from park to park. Guests at the Happiest Place on Earth can travel all the way from Magic Kingdom to Epcot on Disney's Monorail - a quick and easy train that goes back and forth between the parks as well as to some of the hotels. Or they can use the 36-boat transportation services in both parks as well as at Disney Springs. To get from Epcot to Disney's Hollywood Studios, people can hop on the Skyliner, which is a gondola lift system. However, the only mode of transportation that touches Animal Kingdom is the free Disney buses - and some fans are not happy about it. After the new map was released, one Disney fan took to Reddit to express their outrage over the lack of options to get to Animal Kingdom. And the post lead to a massive argument about the Disney bus system. 'I'm someone that prefers Skyliner or Monorail transportation so it's really unfortunate that the ONLY way to get to Animal Kingdom right now is by bus,' the user expressed. 'The yellow line [is] there for the Skyliner [and] could easily be extended all the way to Animal Kingdom if they wanted.' They suggested: 'Maybe even have a station at [the hotel] Coronado Springs and [the water park] Blizzard Beach.' 'Having no way to get to Animal Kingdom except driving or taking the bus is really inconvenient and it's weird that it's the only non-water park to only be accessible via bus,' they continued. 'I'm someone that I would visit Animal Kingdom way more if I could just hop over there on the Skyliner from Hollywood Studios. So why is there no Skyliner?' Many other people rushed to the comment section to share their thoughts, and discussed the possibility of Disney adding more transportation to the park. 'I wouldn't be surprised if we eventually get some sort of transit line out to Animal Kingdom, but it's gonna take a lot of money and desire to make it happen,' one person wrote. Another added: 'Disney likes to avoid guests seeing the backstage areas. They do a really good job at Epcot to minimize the amount you can see from the Monorail and it is only a few seconds right at the end where you can see backstage.' 'I just went on Google Earth and measured [a] straight line from the [Hollywood] Studios gate to Animal Kingdom gate [which] is a little under two miles,' shared someone else. 'But that wouldn't even be feasible because said straight line is right through the middle of the studios.' Others said they had no problem with the bus and speculated the lack of Monorail or Skyliner transportation was due to the animal enclosures. 'It's literally not that hard. You get on a bus and sit down,' a person wrote. 'You do realize it's not as close as this map makes it look right?' another said. 'Not to mention it would have to be routed to avoid all animal areas,' someone else observed. 'Can you imagine how much trash would be dropped in the animal enclosures?' a different user shared. 'A free bus that runs all day is pretty convenient. I would suspect that the ANIMALS play a big factor into the lack of overhead rails and lifts,' a different comment read. 'We're so spoiled at Disney, honestly. One of the best bus systems in the world and we (including myself sometimes) complain about it,' another user admitted. 'Yeah, 15 to 20 minutes from the Contemporary to Animal Kingdom on a mostly empty bus with the AC set to like 60F didn't exactly seem like a burden during our visit earlier this month. [The] bus is good. Take [the] bus,' a person urged. 'Maybe it's just me but the bus ride to Animal Kingdom is totally reasonable,' someone else penned.

Cruise passengers reveal the destinations they'd NEVER go to again

Cruise holidays give tourists the chance to tick off several top destinations on one trip. But unfortunately, not every port leaves passengers hungry for more. Experienced cruisers have taken to Reddit to share their main cruise regrets – and for many people, it's a destination that didn't quite hit the mark. So, where will these cruisers be leaving off their itinerary? The largest island in French Polynesia, Tahiti, is often considered to be one of the world's most luxurious places to cruise. But that's not the case for Reddit user 'Jammu2' who says: 'The actual island of Tahiti and the capital Papeete are pretty grim.' And another person adds that they had to pay $30/£21.85 for a glass of beer in the luxury island location. It's a Jamaican destination that 'VagabondCamp' won't be returning to. They say: 'Falmouth, Jamaica - small hole in the wall town - we left the port area and got screamed at, followed, blocked from walking etc.' Cruiser 'mga1' agrees, adding: 'There isn't anything around. There isn't much to see/shop/eat in the area.' For 'wanderingstorm', there are several destinations that have left them with no desire to return. They say: 'I wasn't impressed with Western Caribbean, Cozumel, Roatan, Costa Maya etc. It was fine but nothing I had much desire to see again once the cruise was over.' And 'GroundbreakingHeat38' slams Costa Maya, a cruise port in Mexico, as 'awful'. They claim: [It's] a big tourist trap type stop and you couldn't even go in the ocean, there was no beach.' The Bahamas has also sadly left several cruise guests unimpressed with 'Express-Bee-6485' moaning that they 'should've stayed on [the] ship!' 'Elvisdog12' even describes Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas and a leading cruise destination, as 'straight up gross'. Europe isn't spared on the thread with 'malbecois' claiming: 'I could do without stopping in Olympia on future cruises.' They explain their dislike for the Greek destination by saying: 'It sounded interesting, but the Olympic site was a bit of a let-down compared to other historical ruins. And damn was it hot!' And 'PMyra' had their cruise ruined by a terrible excursion to a 'factory' in Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. They claim the trip was 'nothing but sales pitches and forced shopping' adding that they now 'avoid' any factory excursions. Meanwhile another cruise guest says they need a 'a vacation to recover after a Mediterranean cruise', explaining that 'there's a port every day and you're usually waking up at 6am to do whatever is planned'. Cruise guests have also been warned that trips to a popular European destination are about to get a little pricier. Norway has announced that local governments will be able to charge a three per cent levy on overnight stays and cruise ship visitors. The tax is due to launch in the summer of 2026 and has been designed in response to overtourism in the Nordic country.
