Blinkers to have The Grey focused on return to winner's circle

An important gear change can propel a popular home track three-year-old into his second career win at Thursday's Hawkesbury meeting. The Grey, a progressive son of prolific Deep Field in the Brad Widdup stable, hasn't quite lived up to early promise for connections, with only a lone win from eight starts since debuting more than a year ago. But a reignition looks primed in a Provincial Benchmark 64 Hcp over 1100m where The Grey is one of a trio of three-year-olds taking on the older horses. After a somewhat disappointing second-up effort when he ran home only fairly into a place against similar opposition, the stable has immediately put the blinkers back on. That day he was backed from $3.50 into $3.10, yet after working through traffic from midfield, he didn't put his mind on the job late. So blinkers were again sought to help sharpen him up over the full trip, and so too will a drying track, expected to be officially rated Good. And significantly, Josh Parr who rode The Grey to his only win so far – a dominant maiden success at this track last November – returns to the saddle. A blending colour of grey and chestnut, The Grey will likely head to a midweek metropolitan race if he salutes at home. He opened around $2.90 in early betting ahead of five-year-old mare and fellow local Everyone's A Star at $4.70.

The ultimate guide for the best iced coffee spots in Dubai for your morning caffeine run

Life by Team Emirates Woman 27 seconds ago 'This is a jumbo-coffee morning. I need coffee in an IV.' — Lorelai Gilmore This quote resonates with people who work 9-5 on most mornings. How else is one supposed to get through the eight hours of a work day? With a morning shot of caffeine, that's how. With the UAE weather making it almost impossible to enjoy a hot cappucino or americano in the AM, it's iced-coffee-to-the-rescue season. Plus, it almost feels like a treat you're buying for yourself as a reward for adulting in this prickly heat. When it comes to iced coffees, not every place can make the cut. It has to be the perfect decoction of the espresso shot, milk of choice, ice and flavouring — no element can overpower the other. Coffee lovers will agree. After trying and testing a couple of popular joints in Dubai, we've curated a list of the best iced coffee spots that you can pit stop at before head to work. Some elements we looked at while curating this list was checking the quality of the espresso used, the ice to coffee ratio, the value for price, and of course, how cute does the delivery cup look. 'At the height of the 1960s Cold War, Russia launches its flagship nuclear submarine, the K-19. In command is iron-willed Captain Alexei Vostrikov (Ford). Also aboard is the popular executive officer Mikhail Polenin (Liam Neeson), who clashes with Vostrikov but shares his unwavering patriotism. As the K-19 heads toward American waters, a shocking discovery is made: the vessel's nuclear reactor system is leaking, imperiling the men and the sub's missiles. Foodie website lists Savannah in its Top 25 Bucket List Cities to dine in

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — LoveFood, the website that highlights the best places to eat in the U.S., has picked Savannah as a bucket-list foodie city. Coming in at number 22 on their list, they say even though Savannah may be one of the smaller cities they highlight, when it comes to food, the Hostess City is larger than life. The website singles out Savannah's endless contemporary Southern restaurants serving modern takes on traditional dishes – often in a charming setting, too. 'The Grey regularly tops 'best of' lists for good reason; its smashed new potatoes, not to mention dishes like sweet potato with coconut collard greens, are out of this world. For something more old-school, don't miss Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room, where giant bowls of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, greens and mac 'n' cheese are served sharing style.'
