The Pitt's Noah Wyle Addresses Tracy Ifeachor's Exit Ahead of Season 2

Noah Wyle is addressing Tracy Ifeachor's shocking exit from The Pitt following TVLine's exclusive report that Dr. Heather Collins will not scrub in for Season 2. 'Truthfully, we loved the actress,' Wyle tells our sister site Deadline. 'We enjoyed having her with us very much. She's gotten really big and we will miss her.' At the time, sources told us that the decision was a creative one, and it was not Ifeachor's choice to leave. Confirmation came one day after Ifeachor took to Instagram to say what a 'blessing' it was to be a part of the series' freshman run — but made no mention of Season 2. Soon after, she booked a supporting role in M. Night Shyamalan's forthcoming thriller, Remain, opposite Jake Gyllenhaal and Phoebe Dynevor. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Tracy Ifeachor (@tracyifeachor_) Dr. Collins was last seen in Episode 11, during a tender exchange that revealed the depth of her relationship with Noah Wyle's Dr. Robby. She confided in her ex about her recent IVF journey that ended in miscarriage earlier that day, then revealed that she got pregnant while they were dating but chose to have an abortion. After assuring Collins that he was not upset, Robby gave her the OK to clock out an hour ahead of schedule.'Go home, turn off your phone,' he told her, and that she did. By the time our department chief got word that there had been a mass shooting at PittFest, his senior resident was incommunicado. Ifeachor's absence from the final four episodes did not go unnoticed by fans — and in an April interview, Wyle, who is also an executive producer, addressed the decision to have Collins scrub out before everyone else. 'The whole end of the season is just removing bearing walls from Robby's life,' Wyle said on The Watch. 'He leans so heavily on Collins and Langdon, and then you take them both away from him… he leans so heavily on Dana, and then she becomes compromised… and then his one last relationship to Jake is severed when he can't save his girlfriend.' The thinking was, 'let's take away all this guy's support system and have him out there [alone].'If Collins had been there, Wyle said, 'I think she would have maybe been one of those voices that could have reached [Robby], and we didn't want him to be reachable.' That said, at the time of the podcast interview, there was no indication that Ifeachor would not be back for the series' sophomore shift. Wyle & Co. are currently back in production for a targeted January 2026 premiere. On Tuesday, The Pitt racked up 13 Emmy nominations for its first season, including Lead Actor (Wyle), Supporting Actress (Katherine LaNasa), Guest Actor (Shawn Hatosy) and Outstanding Drama Series. The Pitt Season 2 Adds Four, Including a Familiar Face From Breaking Bad

The Pitt's ensemble is growing by four. As production on Season 2 of the acclaimed medical drama gets underway, TVLine is able to confirm the following cast additions: Charles Baker (aka Breaking Bad's Skinny Pete), Irene Choi (Insatiable), and relative newcomers Lucas Iverson and Laëtitia Hollard. All four are recurring. The Pitt Season 2 began production in Los Angeles on June 5 for a targeted January 2026 premiere. Prior to its return, all of Season 1 will air on basic cable network TNT. You can watch (or rewatch) our finale Q&A with Wyle below: As TVLine previously reported, Season 2 will pick up roughly 10 months after the events of Season 1, on 4th of July weekend, as Robby (played by TVLine Dream Emmy nominee Noah Wyle) is in the midst of 'getting himself mentally healthy again.' That will coincide with Dr. Frank Langdon's first day back at work after agreeing to go to rehab. The time jump will also facilitate changes in hospital hierarchy: 'Because it will be July, everyone has been promoted or graduated to the next level,' series creator R. Scott Gemmill told TVLine. 'For instance, Whitaker will be an intern next year — so, finally, his character will be getting paid.' Javadi, meanwhile, 'is going to be doing a sub-internship, and we find out that maybe that's just her stalling because she doesn't want to make up her mind about where she wants to go.' Soaps Shocker: Erika Slezak Joins General Hospital! Here's What We Know So Far

Daytime-TV royalty is returning home. The great Erika Slezak — a record-holding six-time Daytime Emmy winner for her run as One Life to Live's Viki (and sometimes Niki et al) — has inked a short-term deal to appear on ABC's General Hospital. More from TVLine The Pitt Season 2 Adds Four, Including a Familiar Face From Breaking Bad Roseanne Barr Claims The Conners Wanted Her Back - Here's What the EPs Told Us About a Possible Cameo Chris Robinson, of General Hospital and Bold and Beautiful, Dead at 86 The jaw-dropping news was delivered via Slezak's longtime fan club president, Walter Miller. 'Erika has just informed me she has signed a short-term contract with ABC's General Hospital,' Miller posted to on Thursday. 'At this time, Erika does not know which character she will be playing or when her scenes will air, but [she] is excited to be working again with executive producer Frank Valentini and the cast of GH!' Valentini was the boss at OLTL from 2003 until its very end. 'I am thrilled to confirm that my dear friend and former One Life to Live colleague, Erika Slezak, will appear on General Hospital this fall,' Valentini confirmed via X. 'Stay tuned as we prepare to introduce another daytime legend to Port Charles.' The daughter of Tony Award-winning Austrian actor Walter Slezak (but no relation to TVLine alumni Michael), Slezak famously first auditioned for All My Children and the role of nurse Mary Kennicott back in 1971 — albeit unsuccessfully. Instead, and fortuitously, she was offered the role of OLTL's Victoria 'Viki' Lord Riley. She made her OLTL debut in 1971, and stuck with it until 2013 — including as part of the show's short-lived, dying breath on Prospect Park's The Online Network. Slezak earned her first Daytime Emmy Award nomination in 1983, grabbed gold for the first time the following year, and then claimed Emmys again in 1986, 1992, 1995 and 1996. (Yes, she holds the record for most wins in the Outstanding Lead Actress category.) Since OLTL's true and sincere end, Slezak has been spotted guest-starring on primetime series including Blue Bloods and The Resident. Who do think Slezak will be playing on ?
