Soaps Shocker: Erika Slezak Joins General Hospital! Here's What We Know So Far
The great Erika Slezak — a record-holding six-time Daytime Emmy winner for her run as One Life to Live's Viki (and sometimes Niki et al) — has inked a short-term deal to appear on ABC's General Hospital.

The jaw-dropping news was delivered via Slezak's longtime fan club president, Walter Miller.
'Erika has just informed me she has signed a short-term contract with ABC's General Hospital,' Miller posted to ErikaSlezak.com on Thursday. 'At this time, Erika does not know which character she will be playing or when her scenes will air, but [she] is excited to be working again with executive producer Frank Valentini and the cast of GH!'
Valentini was the boss at OLTL from 2003 until its very end.
'I am thrilled to confirm that my dear friend and former One Life to Live colleague, Erika Slezak, will appear on General Hospital this fall,' Valentini confirmed via X. 'Stay tuned as we prepare to introduce another daytime legend to Port Charles.'
The daughter of Tony Award-winning Austrian actor Walter Slezak (but no relation to TVLine alumni Michael), Slezak famously first auditioned for All My Children and the role of nurse Mary Kennicott back in 1971 — albeit unsuccessfully. Instead, and fortuitously, she was offered the role of OLTL's Victoria 'Viki' Lord Riley. She made her OLTL debut in 1971, and stuck with it until 2013 — including as part of the show's short-lived, dying breath on Prospect Park's The Online Network.
Slezak earned her first Daytime Emmy Award nomination in 1983, grabbed gold for the first time the following year, and then claimed Emmys again in 1986, 1992, 1995 and 1996. (Yes, she holds the record for most wins in the Outstanding Lead Actress category.)
Since OLTL's true and sincere end, Slezak has been spotted guest-starring on primetime series including Blue Bloods and The Resident.

Resident Alien Cancelled, Will End With Season 4
Harry Vanderspeigle's time in Patience, Colo. has come to an end. Resident Alien has been cancelled by Syfy/USA Network, and will end with Season 4 (airing Friday nights at 10/9c). 'I knew going into it that this was likely going to be our final season,' Sheridan tells TV Insider. 'Creatively, that was exciting because I knew we could spend the time wrapping up some storylines and driving toward an ending. 'I'm so proud of how good Season 4 is and especially proud that we were able to finish as strongly as we did, with a finale that is probably my favorite episode of the series,' the EP added. Based on the Dark Horse comics series of the same name, Resident Alien follows a crash-landed alien (Alan Tudyk) whose original mission was to kill every living being on the planet. But after spending time on Earth and making friends in the town of Patience, Colo., he changed course and set about on a new plan: To save humanity from other races of aliens who want to claim the world as their own. Season 4 has seen Harry going head-to-head with a Mantid that stole his identity. Making matters even worse, Harry realized his alien essence was stolen by the Greys as a result of his time spent captured on their spaceship. In addition to Tudyk, Resident Alien stars Sara Tomko, Alice Wetterlund, Corey Reynolds, Levi Fiehler, Elizabeth Bowen, Meredith Garrettson and Judah Prehn. The series also boasts an impressive list of guest stars including Edi Patterson (The Righteous Gemstones), Terry O'Quinn (Lost), Enver Gjokaj (Invasion), Gary Farmer and Sarah Podemski (Reservation Dogs), Jewel Staite (Firefly) and Linda Hamilton (The Terminator franchise). And Just Like That EPs Admit to Hesitating Over Carrie and Aidan's Big Decision: ‘Are We Making a Mistake?'

(Aidan even kicked her out of bed when she smelled like smoke. A Big flashback, perhaps?) Carrie later confronted Aidan, and he admitted that he still has trust issues stemming from her affair with Big back on Sex and the City. 'How is it possible that I haven't earned your trust by now?' Carrie wondered, adding that 'I was one hundred percent in.' Emphasis on 'was.' The two agreed to end things, sharing a sad hug before Carrie took comfort in a round of drinks with her gal pals. The decision for Carrie and Aidan to break up was made 'pretty early on' in the And Just Like That writers' room this season, executive producer Elisa Zuritsky tells TVLine, adding that 'it wasn't a fiery debate in the room. I think it really came down to the way the previous season ended, with Aidan's family proving to be such an obstacle.' The writers 'really did want to play it out in the real world and think of [Carrie and Aidan] as real people, and take them out of the fantasy Disney prince and princess happy ending that we were kind of playing with in Season 2. It did feel like too much to ask of those two people, especially with their baggage.' That baggage includes some very old bags still left over from Carrie's dalliance with Big a quarter-century ago on Sex and the City, fellow EP Julie Rottenberg — who wrote with Zuritsky on SATC as well — notes. Carrie and Aidan 'are, in many ways, maybe older, wiser people' now, but 'what comes out in that last scene, in a way, it's like everything that's always right under the surface. It all boils down to that.' (Remember, Aidan wouldn't set foot in Carrie's old apartment last season because of the memories it stirred up.) In the end, 'I think we all knew their problems were systemic enough that they would not survive,' Rottenberg says. That's not to say it was an easy decision to make, though. 'When it came closer and closer to shooting that scene, the breakup scene,' Rottenberg remembers, 'and I think part of it is Sarah Jessica [Parker] and John Corbett have such an incredible bond and chemistry and relationship as both actors and as the characters, I did start to worry. I got a little panicky. 'Should we not be doing this? Should we not be breaking them up?'… I remember feeling a little panicked as it got closer, like: 'Are we making a mistake?' I almost felt like I was in the breakup!' But the writers made sure to plant seeds throughout the season leading to the split, Zuritsky points out: 'Knowing that at some point towards the end of the season we were going to break them up, we had to spend most of our time really getting into: What are the stepping stones to earn this mutual giving up? Really, no one breaks up with the other. They kind of reach a moment where they have to admit that they both feel exhausted by the trying of it. It took a lot of time to build the fracture that became the break.' So does that break mean there's now an opening for Duncan in Carrie's heart? Is she even ready to consider a new romance at this point? Rottenberg will only say that it's 'an excellent question' — and we've got three more episodes left in Season 3 to find out the answer. Big Brother Recap: Who Didn't Survive Jimmy's Chaotic HOH Reign?
Drama erupted inside the Big Brother house this week and while we're certainly living for it, our boy Jimmy most definitely is not. Two powers were activated this week causing HOH Jimmy to nominate a fourth and fifth houseguest for eviction. After BB20 winner Kaycee Clark was called in to compete in the veto comp, winning safety for Keanu, Kelley then used her power in order to secure herself the week's second veto. When all of the dust settled, original nominee Adrian was joined by new noms Amy and Will. Let's break down the night's events, shall we? THE STRATEGY | While Jimmy has solid allies in the house, everyone seems to agree that putting Will on the block was (and I'm quoting) a 'bitch-ass move.' (I mean, the guy's HOH has been all mess.) The Burger Boys know they must keep Adrian, but Rachel is looking to protect her ally, Amy. Two of the younger 20-somethings who are apparently named :::checks notes::: Lauren and Katherine want Amy gone, mostly because that would be an indirect shot at Rachel. Vince and Kelley don't disagree. Morgan and Mickey (who, to me, are one of the more interesting duos in the house, especially if you've been following their live feed strategy sessions), want to keep Will in the house in order to pull him closer. Rachel goes to bat for Amy, telling everyone that Adrian will give them all a run for their money in future comps and votes. Then, the BB13 winner does what she does best: Intimidate the newbies. Or at least Morgan, who really, really doesn't want to anger the self-imposed BB queen. But it's aaaall going to come down to the BB Blockbuster. THE BLOCKBUSTER | In the 'Puzzling Prints' comp, the nominees must complete a puzzle of a fingerprint. Adrian throws a bulk of his pieces right onto his board and makes quick work of the border. From there, the San Antonio carpenter is just too speedy to catch. Adrian finishes his puzzle and smashes his buzzer, thereby officially saving himself from the block. THE VOTE | Without sparing a single moment, the color-coordinated cast learns they'll be deciding between Amy and Will. But as the camera zooms in close on Amy and Rachel's loooong hug, it seems the women already know which way the cookie's gonna crumble. And when the votes come in, even Rachel votes out her bestie, and Amy is evicted 13-0. On her way out the door, she yells to her fellow houseguests, 'Get Jimmy out! He's a snake and a liar!'
