Somber Ben Affleck dines solo at pricey steakhouse after Jennifer Lopez locks lips with A-lister on film set

Ben Affleck looked deep in thought after enjoying a meal in Beverly Hills on Friday night. The Accountant 2 star, 52, was spotted exiting the high-end eatery Steak 48, one day after ex-wife Jennifer Lopez was seen in a lip-lock with Diego Luna in the sexy trailer for her new film Kiss of the Spider Woman, on which he serves as a producer. The Oscar winner looked relaxed, wearing a thick gray sweater over a blue button-down shirt and dark jeans tucked into his beige ankle boots. His dark hair and beard were closely trimmed as he made his way to the valet station to get his car. On Saturday morning, the Air star was up early, taking his German Shepherd for a walk. Affleck adopted him as a security dog in January amid safety concerns following the destruction of the Los Angeles fires. The pooch was well-behaved enough to be off-leash as they took their morning exercise. To keep warm in the chilly morning air, the Deep Water star wore a similar gray sweater over a T-shirt with a black jacket. He donned faded jeans, which he tucked into his beige ankle boots and carried one of his favorite coffee drinks. Affleck and his friend, business partner and fellow Oscar winner Matt Damon, 54, have teamed up again for the upcoming thriller The Rip. The two will star are Miami police officers in the crime drama The Rip for Netflix. Damon and Affleck are producing project, based on the experiences of real cop, through their Artists Equity studio, which they founded in 2022. The pair promoted their film, which was scheduled to debut on January 16, 2026 in a sweet spot with Cookie Monster, who along with his friends on Sesame Street, have joined the screening service. The two are wearing blue windbreakers with Police written on them when they burst through a door. 'Drop it,' Affleck says, holding a flashlight. 'Miami PD. Put your hands in the air,' commands Damon as Cookie Monster blissfully munches on his favorite food. 'Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa whoa! Me only got cookies here,' he told the officers. 'Oh, sorry Cookie Monster' Affleck apologized. 'Cookie Monster, love your work,' said Damon, appeasing the Muppet. 'We're big fans of your work,' the Town star added. 'Yeah, you know Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, you like the cookies and milk of actors.' The pair thanked him for his compliment and asked if they could grab a cookie on their way out. As they exited, Damon grumbled under his breath, 'I can't believe he's got a nicer dressing room than we do.'

Director Guillermo del Toro and stars Oscar Isaac and Mia Goth were on hand to debut the teaser trailer for Frankenstein. Star Jacob Elordi could not be in attendance, but appeared via video message. Del Toro 'adapts Mary Shelley's classic tale of Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist who brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.' The film also stars Felix Kammerer, David Bradley, Lars Mikkelsen, Christian Convery, with Charles Dance and Christoph Waltz. After its earlier teaser trailer debut, the full trailer for Happy Gilmore 2 debuted at Tudum. A Rich Eisen-moderated, short Q&A took place with Adam Sandler, Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald, with interactive segments with Lavell Crawford, Blake Clark, Kym Whitley and Jon Lovitz, Ethan Cutkosky, and Conor Sherry. Carnahan said in an online interview: "Working with Matt and Ben and having two, distinctly talented filmmakers, as both creative allies and the studio heads, wound up being the best of both worlds." He added that the process on set was a breeze, with Damon and Affleck providing unwavering support for his creative decisions. "The Rip" revolves around a team of Miami cops who, after discovering millions in cash in a derelict stash house, find their trust starting to erode. As outside forces get wind of the astounding seizure, the film delves into the murky waters of trust and loyalty. "The title for 'The Rip' is simply Miami cop parlance for 'taking the bad guy's stuff,' which is known as 'ripping' it", Carnahan explained. Damon and Affleck, who are now established A-list actors and producers, first gained fame for co-writing "Good Will Hunting", which won them an Oscar. Despite their numerous accolades, the pair have shared the screen in a limited number of films together. The duo recently teased "The Rip" during the Netflix Tudum 2025: The Live Event, where Affleck jokingly said: "I trusted Matt would shave the beard before Tudum - and here we are." Damon is currently sporting a beard for his role as Odysseus in Christopher Nolan's upcoming film "The Odyssey". Affleck described "The Rip" as "a really fun, engaging ride that keeps you guessing", promising a compelling human drama that intertwines moral dilemmas with thrilling cinematic elements reminiscent of classics like "Heat" and "Narc". "The Rip" is set for a global release on Netflix on January 16, 2026.

Damon has grown out his beard for his role as the legendary Greek king of Ithaca, Odysseus, for the movie adaptation of the epic poem The Odyssey by Homer. Along with growing out his beard, Damon has also grown an incredible set of abs. 'As you get on in life, it's less and less easy to do this, as I can tell you, and he is getting it done. 'And I'm a little bit — yeah, I don't like it, I feel like he's upstaging me, but what are you gonna do? 'I gotta respect it. He does look pretty good, I'm kind of impressed.'
