'E! News 'to Come to an End After 34 Years on the Air — Find Out When the Last Episode Will Air
PEOPLE has learned employees of the entertainment news show — currently hosted by Keltie Knight and Justin Sylvester — were informed of the network's decision to cancel the show on July 24 E! News is set to end after 34 years. PEOPLE has learned E! News — which is currently hosted by Keltie Knight and Justin Sylvester — will air its last episode on Sept. 25. Employees of the entertainment news show were informed of the network's decision on July 24. E! News will air a repeat episode tonight — with new episodes set to air next week. After the show ends this fall, E! News will continue as a digital brand — including its website E! Online and social media offerings. The brand's digital shows including E! News' The Rundown on Snapchat, Hot Goss on Instagram and RE!CAP on YouTube. On the air, E! will continue its red carpet coverage with Live from E! in addition to its original programming including Botched Presents: Plastic Surgery Rewind and Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour as well as its acquired content. The network also recently announced two new shows: Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane and E!'s Dirty Rotten Scandals. The news comes after NBCUniversal divided its broadcasting offerings. NBC, Peacock and Bravo will remain parts of the original brand, while the rest of its cable channels — including E!, USA Network, Syfy, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen and Golf Channel — and websites like Fandango and Rotten Tomatoes will move to the new company, Versant. Some E! News correspondents will transition to Versant, but opportunities for these employees are still being determined. E! News premiered on Sept. 1, 1991 with original host Dagny Hultgreen. There have been several iterations of the show since its debut. In 2006, Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic took the reins of the show. Seacrest left the show in April 2012 and was replaced by Jason Kennedy. As Rancic reduced her role on the show after welcoming son Duke with husband Bill Rancic in 2012, Catt Sadler joined. Sadler exited the network in December 2017 after a pay dispute. She claimed Kennedy was being paid double her salary. In a statement to PEOPLE at the time, an E! spokesperson said on behalf of the network and Kennedy, 'E! compensates employees fairly and appropriately based on their roles, regardless of gender. We appreciate Catt Sadler's many contributions at E! News and wish her all the best following her decision to leave the network.' Two years later, E! News moved its broadcast to New York. The move conceded with Rancic announcing that she would no longer be anchoring the show as she planned to stay in Los Angeles. Lilliana Vazquez and Scott Tweedie became new co-anchors in New York in January 2020 — but the show was cancelled seven months later amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The show was brought back two years later with hosts Adrienne Bailon-Houghton and Sylvester. Knight was later promoted to co-anchor after Bailon-Houghton's exit in October 2023. ‘E! News' Nightly Show Axed As Versant Eyes Digital Future For Brand
EXCLUSIVE: E! News, the long-running celebrity news show, is coming to an end. Versant, the nascent company that oversees E! as well as a number of former NBCUniversal cable networks, is axing the show, which first launched in 1991, in September. More from Deadline Comcast's Versant Sets Board With Mark Lazarus, Former Disney Executive Rebecca Campbell Netflix Still Not Interested In Owning Legacy Media Networks Even As M&A Options Multiply - CFO CNBC Hires David Cho As Editor In Chief The half-hour, which airs at 11:30pm, will have new episodes through to September 25. Deadline understands that employees on the show were informed this morning with around 20 people working on it. Some of these may be offered other roles and some are expected to leave. It marks the first major programming decision since Versant was formed earlier this year. The move is not unexpected; given the way that people consume pop culture news these days, largely on their phone and across social media, means that operating a nightly news operation is more challenging. E! News digital brand will continue with a focus on social platforms. As Deadline revealed earlier this year, the brand saw some impressive growth, particularly on Instagram, where video views were up 49% and TikTok views up 52%. E! currently has around 87M social media followers and digital shows including E! News' The Rundown on Snapchat, Hot Goss on Instagram, RE!CAP on YouTube. The nightly show is hosted by Keltie Knight and Justin Sylvester. The show was previously canceled in 2020 but returned after a two-year break. Access Hollywood and Access Daily will continue to operate as normal. E! currently also airs shows such as Botched Presents: Plastic Surgery Rewind and Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour with upcoming titles including Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane and E!'s Dirty Rotten Scandals. However, their romance in the villa was short-lived as she was soon dumped after being voted one of the least popular girls. But since leaving Majorca, Megan has been spilling all on the many things that fans don't see of what goes on behind the scenes. In a new interview with Joe Baggs on his Not My Bagg podcast, she even revealed that Islanders are restricted from knowing certain basic information. Bizarrely, Megan claims that the contestants are unable to know the temperature during their time on the show and are never informed by producers about how hot it is. Speaking to Joe about filming in the heat, Megan said: "Well, we weren't allowed to know the actual degrees. "We knew nothing!" In shock, Joe reacted: "What a strange bit of information to with hold!" Megan said back: "But I can tell you that I was dripping in sweat. "It was really un-sexy when we were trying to flirt with everyone." Megan's admission came after she addressed rumours of a divide between the girls on this year's show. Many fans of Love Island have taken to social media as they claimed there may have been a clique within the Majorca villa. On a thread titled 'The Mean Girls trio - Meg, Megan and Helena' on social media fan forum site Reddit, fans fumed that Meg, Megan and Helena were being respectful to the rest of the girls. One viewer claimed: "I'm really not liking the bully-ish vibes coming from the cliquey trio of Meg, Megan, and Helena. 4 The star was axed from the villa despite finding a connection with Conor Credit: Shutterstock Editorial "They tried it with Shakira at the start, but she knew how to handle them." Podcast host Daniel Ajose suggested that it seemed that "friendship groups were constantly beating each other. Megan admitted: "Do you know what? Being in there, it doesn't feel like that whatsoever. "Of course, like, the girls have the ones they'd naturally gravitate towards, like, you're just naturally close to people. "It's like school, everyone's not like sisters holding hands. But that being said, in there doesn't feel like that whatsoever."

TVO's 'The Agenda with Steve Paikin' to end after 19 seasons
"The Agenda with Steve Paikin" is coming to an end after 19 seasons. TVO says this season of its flagship current affairs program will be the last as the veteran host enters a new phase of his career with the public broadcaster. Paikin will stay with TVO as co-host of the weekly political podcast #onpoli, and he will continue to write a column on the broadcaster's website. TVO also says he'll host public engagements. Replacing "The Agenda"'s timeslot will be "The Rundown," a new show that TVO says will feature "original journalism and in-depth analysis exploring social, political, cultural and economic issues that impact Ontarians." It launches this fall. In a column published Tuesday, Paikin said he and TVO's vice-president of programming John Ferri agreed in contract talks three years ago that it would be his last full-time deal with the Ontario station. Paikin said hosting is a job that requires working every day of the week, and he realized he wanted to tackle other items on his life's to-do list. The final episode of "The Agenda" will air June 27. 'I am grateful to everyone who worked on or was a part of 'The Agenda' for the last 19 seasons," Paikin said in a statement. "It has truly been an honour and I'm looking forward to what's coming next.' This report by The Canadian Press was first published April 22, 2025. Alex Nino Gheciu, The Canadian Press
