'Mera ghar bikwana…'; Rajesh Khanna once refused to sell his 'Aashirwad' bungalow to this actor, even during..., he is…

Bollywood's first superstar, Rajesh Khanna was popular for his films, controversial life, and his bungalow. You'd be surprised to note that Rajesh Khanna also went through a financial crisis. Yes, it is the same bungalow whose name was 'Aashirwad'. Originally, this bungalow was first bought by Bharat Bhushan, and he became a very big star by living in that bungalow. How did Rajesh Khanna end up buying the Aashirwad bungalow? In Rajesh Khanna's biography, 'Dark Star: The Loneliness of Being Rajesh Khanna', written by Gautam Chintamani, reveals how Bollywood's first superstar bought the magnificent Aashirwad bungalow. But even during his financial crisis, he refused to sell it. Initially, the property was owned by Rajendra Kumar. He then became a jubilee star of the film industry by living in it. His relative was Ramesh Bahl, and he was making a film named 'The Train' with Rajesh Khanna. Interesting story behind Rajesh Khanna's property One day, Rajesh Khanna was going from Carter Road. When he saw the crowd in front of the bungalow, he asked why there was such a crowd. On this, his driver said that this is Rajendra Kumar's bungalow. That's it, from that day onwards, that bungalow settled in Kakaji's mind. Rajesh Khanna asked Ramesh Bahl to get this bungalow for him somehow. On this, Ramesh Bahl told Rajendra Kumar that there is a lot of noise of vehicles here. People keep coming and going. There is no such thing as privacy; pollution is also very high. There is another bungalow behind this. It is quite big and very peaceful too. In this way, Ramesh Bahl convinced Rajendra Kumar, and then Rajendra Kumar sold that bungalow. Rajesh Khanna took this bungalow from him. Rajesh Khanna named this bungalow Aashirwad. When Rajesh Khanna faced a financial crisis After the sale of this bungalow, Rajendra Kumar's stardom started fading and Rajesh Khanna's started increasing. Seeing this, Rajendra Kumar also felt that along with the bungalow, his luck also went to Rajesh Khanna. Well, it was in 1999, 2000, and 2001 that Mr Khanna faced financial trouble. He got a notice of one crore, one and a quarter crore rupees from Income Tax. When Salman Khan was interested in buying Rajesh Khanna's property Meanwhile, one day Rajesh Khanna got a call from Salman Khan. He asked Rumi Jaffery that he had an important work with Rajesh Khanna. Salman Khan requested Rumi to help him purchase Rajesh Khanna's property. It was Sohail Khan who was interested in buying Rajesh Khanna's property. Sohail heard that Rajesh Khanna was selling his bungalow, and he was interested in buying it. Whatever price Rajesh Khanna quoted, Sohail Khan was ready to purchase it. Sohail assured that there will be no negotiation from his side. When Rajesh Khanna came to know about Sohail Khan's plan on buying Aashirwad Rumi further revealed, 'When Khanna finally spoke, he asked him how he could even think of suggesting such a thing and accused him of stabbing him in his back. 'Kakaji said, 'I consider you a son-in-law aur tu mera ghar bikwana chahta hai… Sadak par lana chahta hai!' I had a tough time explaining that I was merely a postman delivering Sohail Khan's message.'

Exclusive! Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra on marriage; say it's hard work

Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra It was a blend of cricketing and cinematic worlds when cricketer Harbhajan Singh and actress Geeta Basra tied the knot in 2015. In an interview with us, the couple reflects on their decade-long marriage, parenthood, and what keeps their bond strong through changing times. 'Shaadi nibhane ke liye kuch nazar andaaz aur kuch bardasht karna padta hai' Talking about married life, Harbhajan in his characteristic humour, says, 'Yaar, main toh maanta hoon ki shaadi nibhane ke liye two things are very important kuch nazar andaaz aur kuch bardasht karna padta hai, baaki pyaar mohabbat toh chalti rehti hai shaadi mein. If you follow these two things, shaadi tik jaati hai.' Geeta emphasises that marriage is constant work. 'Married life is hard work, it is work in progress and not something that you can take for granted. Tying the knot and having kids is just the beginning. You have to make time for each other, even as life gets busier with responsibilities and work.' 'You have to work in a relationship to make things work' Drawing parallels between marriage and cricket, Harbhajan says, 'It's easy to walk away, but marriage isn't like a cricket match where you can decide you don't want to play anymore. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với sàn môi giới tin cậy IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo You can't back off saying ki mujhe aur test match nahi khelni hai. Every relationship has its own ups and downs. You have to work on it continuously to make things work.' Speaking about couples they admire, Geeta and Harbhajan feel that Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have set a commendable standard. 'They're an ideal couple,' Geeta says. 'Communication & emotional maturity are key to sustaining a relationship' Reflecting on what leads to marriages breaking down, Harbhajan says, 'It all comes down to personal choice and emotional strength. Pressure, triggers and life situations can push people to make decisions. Ego should never come in the way. Communication, patience and emotional maturity are key to sustaining a relationship.' Geeta adds, 'At the heart of it all, there has to be love. You can't live with someone for the sake of it. ' 'We had to adjust to each other's worlds' Looking back at the early days of their relationship, Geeta recalls how cultural differences and contrasting career backgrounds posed challenges. 'Though we're both Punjabi, we were raised very differently. I grew up in the UK, and Harbhajan in Punjab. Our perspectives, our education — everything was different. We had to adjust to each other's worlds,' she shares. Geeta's comeback and Harbhajan's dream role After a break from the film industry, Geeta is ready to return to the big screen. Geeta, who was a part of films like Dil Diya Hai (2006) and The Train (2007), was last seen in the Punjabi film Lock (2016). 'This year is exciting. You'll see me in Awasthi vs Awasthi and the Punjabi film Mehr.' Meanwhile, Harbhajan, who has made cameo appearances in multiple films and played the lead in the Tamil film Friendship (2021), wants to take up meaningful roles. 'If I could pick a role, I'd love to play a fauji. I want to be part of films that deal with real stories,' he says. Meanwhile, the two are also busy with their new online chat show, called Who's The Boss? that focuses on relationships and features celebrity couples.

'She was not married but was just like...': Mumtaz reveals Rajesh Khanna loved another actress, not Dimple Kapadia, she is...

Rajesh Khanna was that star of stars. In the Bollywood industry, where stardom often fades with time, it was Rajesh Khanna's fame that remained evergreen. From Aradhana, Anand, Amar Prem, to Namak Haraam, Avishkaar, The Train, among others, Rajesh Khanna delivered superhit movies that the industry still remembers. Fondly called Kaka, Rajesh's professional life always remained in the headlines. However, it was his personal life that made fans curious too. Rajesh Khanna's controversial love affair was known to all. From marrying Dimple Kapadia at a young age to having a relationship with Tina Munim (now Tina Ambani), Kaka's love life was famous in every state of the nation. However, do you know that there was a person in Kaka's life who, though not married to him, remained with him just like a wife? Yes, the person here in discussion is veteran actress Anju Mahendru. Rajesh and Anju lived together like husband and wife for a long time, which is today called live-in. Rajesh Khanna's co-star Mumtaz revealed this secret relationship of Rajesh Khanna. In a podcast, Mumtaz clearly stated that Rajesh and Anju did not consider themselves less than husband and wife. Mumtaz said, 'Rajesh and Anju lived in the same house like husband and wife, they used to get up and sit together, eat and drink together — their relationship was no less than that of a husband and wife.' The veteran actress added, 'Yes, both of them were not married, but this relationship was no less than a marriage. They both loved each other very much.' It is worth noting that Rajesh's mother wanted him to get married soon, because he was 27 years old at that time. But when Rajesh proposed to Anju in 1971, she said that she wanted to postpone their marriage because she wanted to focus on building her career as an actress.
