Motocross 2025 250 results, highlights, finish at Washougal: Jo Shimoda wins second time in three rounds

With a second-place finish in Moto 1 of the Washougal (Washington) National and a victory in the second moto, Jo Shimoda won for the second time in the past three rounds. His first victory of 2025 came at RedBud MX Park in Buchanan, Michigan two weeks ago. Shimoda was off to a strong start with back-to-back second-place finishes at Fox Raceway in Pala, California, and Hangtown in Rancho Cordova, California, to start the season, but as soon as the series left the Left Coast, he began to struggle. Shimoda finished sixth at Thunder Valley and High Point, and then barely cracked the top five at The Wick 338 in Southwick, Massachusetts. He finished 10th in Moto 1 of that round, but rebounded to finish second in Moto 2 for an overall finish of fifth. Finishing second in Moto 2 was the confidence booster Shimoda needed. He swept the motos of RedBud, finished third overall at Spring Creek last week, and came to Washougal with a spring in his step. The points championship is practically out of reach, but with the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) looming, Shimoda needs momentum. Click here for a recap of Washougal Haiden Deegan is still feeling the effects of his crash in qualification for the RedBud National. What he thought was a charley horse turned out to be a deep bruise that kept him off the bike in training the following week. Even at less than 100 percent, Deegan held Shimoda at bay in Millville, Minnesota, in Moto 1 and won the overall with a 1-2 finish. He had the same results in Washougal, but lost the overall on a tiebreaker when Shimoda beat him in the second race to earn the tiebreaker. Garrett Marchbanks scored his first 250 Pro Motocross divisional podium with results of third in Moto 1 and fourth in Moto 2. He was close in Thunder Valley with a moto podium in the first race and a fourth-place overall finish. This was his fifth top-five of the season as he and the team begins conversations about what 2026 will look like. Relive Moto 1 Seth Hammaker had a drama-free Washougal National. And, after his disastrous showing the week before in Spring Creek, when he failed to earn points with a 27th-place finish in Moto 1 and a 39th-place finish in the second race, that was just fine with him. It has been a long road for Hammaker in 2025 Motocross. This was his first top-five of the season, with his previous best showing a pair of sevenths at Fox Raceway and High Point. The 2025 season has been one of steady improvement for Austin Forkner, who returned from injury at the beginning of the Monster Energy Supercross season. A viscous crash in Detroit in 2024 preceded a lengthy rehabilitation period, and once the outdoor season began, he was still not 100 percent. Forkner finished a distant 31st in Pala and failed to crack the top 15 in the next five rounds. Things finally came together last week when he finished eighth overall at Spring Creek. He earned his first top-five of the season in Washougal with a pair of fifth-place moto finishes. RedBud Motocross betting, predictions, lines: Chase Sexton return makes Eli Tomac's odds compelling

The return of Chase Sexton to the lineup for the RedBud Nationals had a ripple effect through the opening odds for Round 6 of the Pro Motocross season in Buchanan, Michigan. Last week at The Wick 338 in Southwick, Massachusetts, Jett Lawrence made two statement rides, easily outperforming the field in both motos. The most likely outcome of that domination would have been that Jett's odds at RedBud would have lengthened, but with Sexton's return and the increased competition, he became slightly more attractive, moving from -380 to minus -307. Wagering $300 for the chance to win $100 is still a risky proposition, but betting odds often provide a unique perspective on the relative strength of the field. Sexton's return also impacted Eli Tomac's odds, making him an attractive bet both in reference to the outright win and to score a podium. Tomac has averaged an opening line of about 5/2 during the past four Nationals, but the traders at Alt Sports Data, the official linemaker for the SuperMotocross Championship, are showing very little faith in the veteran. His outright win odds moved substantially from +242 last week to +833 for RedBud. Tomac also sports positive odds for a podium at +127. While the increased line has as much to do with the traders' opinion that Jett is virtually unbeatable, Tomac fell from being the third-most attractive rider in their eyes to his being fourth. Alt Sports is not quite willing to place Sexton in the second slot this week. That honor goes to Hunter Lawrence (+451), who finished second in both Southwick motos. His steady performance during the past several weeks has awakened the traders to his potential as Hunter had nearly 400 points shaved from his line compared to Southwick's +841. The surprise of the week may well be Sexton landing third on the chart. His odds of +590 provide a lot of upside if Jett makes a mistake and Sexton is truly prepared for his return. After Jett's departure from the lineup last year before the RedBud Nationals, Sexton swept the season and won the Motocross championship. His prospectus against a healthy Jett is not as promising, however, and he finished behind him in every race they have contested with the sole exception of Jett's crash last year at Hangtown. Aaron Plessinger (+1888) is fifth on the chart this week despite failing to score an overall top-five at Southwick. That sandy track did not suit his riding style and he struggled, but that will increase his desire to rebound during the weekend when his teammate, Sexton, returns to the lineup. Few expect Plessinger to win, but with a line of +213 to podium, a modest wager could be made. Another podium bet worth considering is for Jorge Prado (+13414 for outright win) who had a raw opening line of +1786 to stand somewhere on the box. Prado earned his first overall top-five last week at The Wick but he contended for podiums in both races. Justin Cooper (+2733) narrowly kept his top-five streak alive last week. He is the only other rider under 100/1 for the outright win. Bettors who favor a deep strategy might wish to place a modest wager on him. Opening Odds, Outright Overall Win Jett Lawrence, -307 Hunter Lawrence, +451 Chase Sexton, +590 Eli Tomac, +833 Aaron Plessinger, +1888 Justin Cooper, +2733 Cooper Webb, +12246 Jason Anderson, +12246 RJ Hampshire, +12246 Justin Barcia, +13414 Malcolm Stewart, +13414 Jorge Prado, +13414 Joey Savatgy, +13414 Lorenzo Locurcio, +14393 Harri Kullas, +14393 Valentin Guillod, +14393 Benoit Paturel, +14393 Mitchell Harrison, +15285 Derek Drake, +15525 Grant Harlan, +15525 Romain Pape, +15525 Colt Nichols, +15525 Derek Kelley, +15525 Coty Schock, +15525 Opening Odds, Overall Podium Jett Lawrence, -2400 Hunter Lawrence, -163 Chase Sexton, -108 Eli Tomac, +127 Aaron Plessinger, +213 Justin Cooper, +300 RJ Hampshire, +487 Cooper Webb, +569 Jason Anderson, +698 Justin Barcia, +1190 Jorge Prado, +1786 Joey Savatgy, +3446 Malcolm Stewart, +4240 Benoit Paturel, +4240 Harri Kullas, +4240 Coty Schock, +4240 Valentin Guillod, +4240 Grant Harlan, +4240 Colt Nichols, +4240 Lorenzo Locurcio, +4240 Mitchell Harrison, +4240 Romain Pape, +4240 Derek Kelley, +4240 Derek Drake, +4240 More SuperMotocross News Chase Sexton set to return at RedBud Southwick 450 results | 250 results Motocross community mourns the death of Aidan Zingg Jett Lawrence sweeps Southwick for fifth win of 2025 Haiden Deegan earns truly perfect round at Southwick Jett Lawrence runs away from field in Southwick Moto 1 Haiden Deegan wins Southwick Moto 1 by 25 seconds Justin Barcia to return from knee injury in Southwick Drew Adams sidelined with broken finger Jo Shimoda highlights Japanese MXoN team

Motocross 2025 250 results, highlights, finish at Southwick: Haiden Deegan wins with best season performance

Haiden Deegan does not always get the greatest starts, but he's made a career out of riding through the pack. That changed Saturday at The Wick 338 in Southwick, Massachusetts, when he earned the holeshot in both motos and charged to a commanding lead. Deegan replicated the perfect race executed by Chance Hymas in Lakewood, Colorado, by topping both sessions of qualification, leading every lap of competition, and sweeping the motos. In Moto 1, Deegan dominated the pack to win by 25 seconds. In the second moto, he was truer to form. Deegan built a gap of 10 seconds and then maintained it, ultimately giving up a little at the end of the race to avoid any mistakes and winning by eight seconds. Deegan's 21st moto win moved him around Jett Lawrence and Jeff Ward on the all-time wins list to place him 14th. If he sweeps the motos of the RedBud Nationals, he will tie Eli Tomac and be within one win of 10th, currently held by Blake Baggett. Click here for a recap of Southwick Tom Vialle had an erratic weekend in Southwick. He got a strong start in Moto 1 but crashed while battling for second. Vialle remounted and charged to third in that race. He was third in the second moto also, which tied him in points with Levi Kitchen. He was scored second overall on the tiebreaker. Kitchen was a distant second to Deegan in the first moto, but considering how the championship leader has been racing this year, it was difficult for him to be overly upset with the outcome. Moto 2 did not go quite as well and he faded from second to third on Lap 5 and then lost another position the next time around. Kitchen finished fourth in the second race. If Deegan should stumble, Kitchen is position to capitalize. This was his fourth consecutive overall podium. Relive Moto 1 His comeback won't be complete until he stands on the podium, but Michael Mosiman earned his first top-five since returning from injury. In fact, if not for a mechanical issue on the final lap of Moto 1 that cost positions to the two riders ahead of him in the overall standings, he would have found that elusive spot on the box. Mosiman finished fifth in the second race and combined for fourth overall. Jo Shimoda was involved in a Turn 1 crash that dropped outside the points for several laps in the first moto. He lost too much time to challenge for a top five, but salvaged 10th in that race and was prepared to prove his mettle in Moto 2. Once he got into second in the final race, Shimoda managed to keep the gap to the leader steady and those runner-up points elevated him to fifth in the overall rundown. Motocross 2025 450 results, highlights, finish at Southwick: Jett Lawrence sweeps for third time

Jett Lawrence executed his third weekend sweep of 2025 at The Wick 338 in Southwick, Massachusetts, with what was his most dominant performance of the season. He finished 14 seconds ahead of the field in Moto 1 and bested them by 20 seconds in Moto 2. Jett's previous two sweeps came at Fox Raceway in the season opener and at Thunder Valley MX Park. In the other two rounds this season, he won one moto each time to score eight race wins in 10 starts. Jett now holds a 38-point advantage in the Pro Motocross Championship standings. Hunter Lawrence was best in class, finishing second in each of the motos, but was never truly in contention for the victory. Then again, he wasn't seriously challenged in either race as he rode to a comfortable spot on the podium. Click here for a recap of Southwick Eli Tomac finished third in both motos to secure third overall, but he had to overcome a poor start in the first race, completing Lap 1 in sixth position and failing to secure the podium spot until Lap 10 of 16. When asked about his performance, he admitted the Lawrence brothers were simply faster than him this week. Justin Cooper kept his streak of overall top-fives alive by finishing sixth in Moto 1 and fifth in Moto 2. He had an even bigger hill to climb in the second race than Tomac did in the first, completing Lap 1 in 12th. He climbed into the top five with four laps remaining. Without that pass, he would have been relegated outside the top five as he finished only one point better than the rider in seventh. Relive Moto 1 It took five rounds, but the reigning MXGP champion, Jorge Prado, finally scored his first overall top five in Pro Motocross after finishing fifth in the first moto and sixth in the second race. Prado challenged for podiums in both races before casual crashes pushed him further down the grid. Prado's previous best Motocross performance came in the season opener in Pala, California, when he was sixth overall on the strength of seventh and sixth place results. Aaron Plessinger failed to finish among the top five overall for the first time in 2025. He scored a solid fourth-place result in Moto 1, but faded in the second race and dropped to eighth, which put him only one point out of the coveted positions. RJ Hampshire ended the weekend with an identical number of points (32) as Plessinger, but was scored sixth with the tiebreaker.
