Primark's 'stylish' new £20 shoes 'just like' £149 designer version
Primark is stocking a pair of shoes that bear a striking resemblance to a pricier alternative. Known for its affordable fashion and homeware, the high street giant may have just introduced a new crowd-pleaser.
The retailer's Crochet Tie-Up Wedges look similar to a style by brand L.K. Bennett but at a fraction of the cost. Shoppers can snag the Primark version for £20, while the designer version is priced at £149 online.
The shoes are very similar, with matching espadrille-style sole and tie-up straps. They also both have the same red and cream colour scheme.
However, there are some slight differences. The more expensive shoes feature a solid, satin-look toe, while Primark's is crochet.
Primark's version are described as "crochet tie-up wedges" and are said to be "perfect for summer days and nights." They're available in red, black or ecru, in sizes three to eight.
The full Primark description reads: "Your summer shoe collection isn't complete without these Crochet Tie-Up Wedges. These shoes feature a chic crochet upper and a wedge that gives you a little lift.
"The tie-up fastenings add a stylish touch and ensure a secure fit. Perfect for pairing with dresses, skirts, or jeans, these wedges will take you from day to night in style."
The designer description states: "Bringing a summery vibe to your collection, this pair of espadrilles by L.K. Bennett offers a distinctive edge with its textile uppers. Set on a wedge heel, they pair well with anything from linen trousers to floaty midi dresses for a look that will never date."
The Primark shoes retail for £20, while the L.K. Bennett Esmeralda Espadrille Wedges come in at £149. This means shoppers could save around £129 by opting for the bargain version.
