Primark is stocking a pair of shoes that bear a striking resemblance to a pricier alternative. Known for its affordable fashion and homeware, the high street giant may have just introduced a new crowd-pleaser.
The retailer's Crochet Tie-Up Wedges look similar to a style by brand L.K. Bennett but at a fraction of the cost. Shoppers can snag the Primark version for £20, while the designer version is priced at £149 online.
The shoes are very similar, with matching espadrille-style sole and tie-up straps. They also both have the same red and cream colour scheme.
However, there are some slight differences. The more expensive shoes feature a solid, satin-look toe, while Primark's is crochet.
Primark's version are described as "crochet tie-up wedges" and are said to be "perfect for summer days and nights." They're available in red, black or ecru, in sizes three to eight.
The full Primark description reads: "Your summer shoe collection isn't complete without these Crochet Tie-Up Wedges. These shoes feature a chic crochet upper and a wedge that gives you a little lift.
"The tie-up fastenings add a stylish touch and ensure a secure fit. Perfect for pairing with dresses, skirts, or jeans, these wedges will take you from day to night in style."
The designer description states: "Bringing a summery vibe to your collection, this pair of espadrilles by L.K. Bennett offers a distinctive edge with its textile uppers. Set on a wedge heel, they pair well with anything from linen trousers to floaty midi dresses for a look that will never date."
The Primark shoes retail for £20, while the L.K. Bennett Esmeralda Espadrille Wedges come in at £149. This means shoppers could save around £129 by opting for the bargain version.
Customers can grab the Primark shoes, in red, black or ecru, in stores now. You can check availability at your nearest store or order Click and Collect here.

PAINT-HEARTED: Give your inner artist free rein with a set of inexpensive fabric paints and a white T-shirt. First, wash the top without fabric softener. Once it's dry and ironed, place a piece of cardboard underneath or between the fabric layers to stop the paint bleeding through. Draw freehand or round a printable stencil to get an individual, eye-catching design. Paint rainbow hearts, personal slogans or the colours of the community you want to celebrate. DRESS TO EXCESS: Body glitter, colourful feathers and glittering jewel-coloured fairy lights will all give your outfit the edge. Use mesh, sheer fabrics and rainbow tights to build bold, fun outfits. Shoppers race to Primark for £16 ‘hidden gem' skirt that's so pretty it's ‘giving Zara'

SHOPPERS are in a frenzy over a "pretty" midi skirt that is sure to sparkle in the summer sun. The embellished new arrival is part of Rita Ora's latest collaboration with the retail giant. 4 4 The summer 2025 pieces dropped in stores across the country last week much to the delight of fashion fans, who have hailed it as "sensational". Bosses at the high street retailer say it is "inspired by golden Ibiza skies, '70s icons, and unforgettable summer moments". And the Rita Ora Beaded Midi Skirt, in particular, has grabbed the attention of shoppers. Despite looking expensive, it is actually incredibly affordable too - priced at just £16. So if you're looking for a show-stopping addition to your wardrobe without breaking the bank, you've come to the right place. The brown midi skirt is covered in sequins, beading and embroidered floral details, and is available in sizes XXS to XL. According to Primark bosses, the midi length 'keeps it polished, while the elasticated waistband makes it easy to slip on and go'. Describing it on the website, they added: "Bring the sparkle with this Rita Ora Beaded Midi Skirt. "Designed in a rich brown, this layer is covered in swirling embroidery, beaded flowers and mini sequins that catch the light as you move." If you really want to elevate the look, you can pair the skirt with the matching beaded halter neck top priced at £12. Primark's mini dress is a copy of a £135 designer version - it'll give you a gorgeous hourglass figure & perfect for date night Alternatively, opt for an oversized T-shirt and sandals or trainers for a more casual finish. Fashion fans react Since hitting the rails last week, fashion fans have been racing to snap up the brown midi skirt. And they've been sharing their glowing comments on social media. One gushed: "It's giving Zara, not Primark. I still can't believe it's from Primark. It's so pretty." A second wrote: "Look at the detail on it. Sequins, beading, love the colour. Really gorgeous. "I got this in a small and it's £16. It's absolutely gorgeous. It looked cute on the hanger but pairing it with the right things [an oversized tee] it now looks 10 out of 10. "I absolutely love this and the fact that it's £16, you know it's definitely staying in my wardrobe." A third added: "This brown skirt is giving like something you would stumble across in a charity shop, a hidden gem. Like that old, vintage brown and the bedazzled beads." "The brown skirt oh my god", cried a fourth. And a fifth echoed: "The brown skirt wowwww." Hot Right Now singer Rita, 34, has been a brand ambassador for Primark since 2023, allowing fashion fans to shop her "famous style for less". The star, often seen in designer clothing, said she was keen to honour her roots and love for the high street brand. Her latest 84-piece collection starts from £5 with the most expensive item - a double-breasted blazer - priced at £40. She said she was excited by the prospect of developing her own affordable fashion collection that offered quality and value. after signing a multi-season deal. But we told how shoppers were convinced they'd spotted a spelling mistake on a baby tee from her spring 2025 collection – and you can't unsee it Why Primark is great for looking expensive on a budget By Clemmie Fieldsend, Fabulous Fashion Editor AS someone who's no stranger to grabbing a last-minute outfit from Primark for a night out, it's about time that celebrities started catching on too. For as long as I've been heading out, Primark has been my go-to for those 'I have nothing to wear' moments, rushing in at the last minute to find something perfect. And I'm definitely not alone - on any Friday or Saturday night, you'll find plenty of shoppers doing the same thing, right before closing time. But no matter what, Primark always delivers. Now, Rita Ora is leading the charge, showing that you can snag a designer-worthy look without spending a fortune at high-end stores. While Rita's not rushing in last minute for a red carpet outfit, she's proving you can achieve the same high-impact style for much less. Looking stunning in her tailored suit alongside her mum Vera, Rita fit right in among the other A-listers dripping in Prada, Dior, and Victoria Beckham - if anything, she looked even better than some of the guests at The Fashion Awards. With Myleene Klass and Roxy Horner already jumping on the Primark bandwagon, I'm sure more stars will be following suit soon enough.

I always get the 'heatwave horn' – it's the same every summer

As I opened the front door, my jaw dropped. Standing in my foyer was a gorgeous man wearing nothing but a towel – which, seconds later, he let fall to the floor. I was rendered speechless by the sight of his sun-kissed skin and taut muscles, but kept my eyes firmly above his waist. 'I just wanted to come upstairs and say hi,' he said with a cheeky smile. Lawrence* and I had met just an hour earlier down by the pool in the communal area. I asked if I could join him in the water and he happily welcomed my company. We flirted wildly as I learned that he's in town on holiday and staying in my building. Around 20 minutes later, having organised to meet a friend for lunch and in need of a shower before I did, I excused myself. I had a distinct feeling that I'd see him again – but not quite this soon. And not quite this naked. 'Well this is a nice surprise,' I replied, while finally allowing my eyes to wander downwards. Let's just say that Lawrence was very happy to see me. Suddenly, without warning, he reached his arm towards my waist and pulled me in so that we were standing with our faces inches apart. Love reading juicy stories like this? We can't wait for you to join us! I smiled and gently nodded – a silent version of giving my consent – and he leaned in for a hot, passionate kiss. 'If you're free later, let's meet up. I am staying two floors down in flat 26,' he said when we finally came up for air. Seconds later, he picked up his towel, got in the lift, and left me standing in the doorway with a dazed expression and scrambled brain. This delightful moment took place during a very hot summer several years ago and I still find the entire thing utterly bizarre in the best way possible. I'm not actually all that surprised by my actions because I've always been a sucker for a good combination of sunshine and sex. When the heatwave horn hits, there's no telling what I might do. And I'm not alone in feeling this way. Many studies show a spike in people's sex drives when we get more Vitamin D, with one survey suggesting that July is our friskiest month. With the UK experiencing high temperatures in the summer months, my libido has been feeling the effects – and with little warning at times. Love reading juicy stories like this? Need some tips for how to spice things up in the bedroom? Sign up to The Hook-Up and we'll slide into your inbox every week with all the latest sex and dating stories from Metro. We can't wait for you to join us! Take earlier this week, when my boyfriend and I were on our way to the supermarket, hardly the sexiest of activities. But I couldn't keep my hands off him; I was soon running my fingers down his jeans, grabbing his butt and kissing his shoulder. I got myself so hot and bothered that he eventually had to tell me to stop because we were in public. It was a very fair point but something that my sun and sex fogged brain had all but forgotten. We picked things up when we got home and he delivered the orgasm I'd craved all day. In the past, I've been much naughtier with my desires. During a hot summer's day, one of my lovers asked me to swing by during his lunch break. We ended up making out on a picnic table by the bar where he worked. At one point, his hands slipped inside my jeans shorts and I struggled to keep quiet. Thankfully, there was no one around and we were well out of view from the main street. Another time, the heatwave horn saw me shag my then-boyfriend at his workplace. We found a quiet room and went at it for about 15 minutes. It was incredibly hot but I was terrified that someone might walk in. The hot weather has also seen me shag on a sun lounger in full view of a dozen people. It was very fun but I don't recommend doing this at your average all-inclusive hotel. This was at a private swingers resort where virtually anything goes, so we didn't break any rules or laws. The horn doesn't just see me choose peculiar sexual locations – it can also impact my choice of partner. Like that time I decided it would be a splendid idea to get in touch with a former flame for a heatwave hook-up. He was great in the sack but not a particularly nice guy. I'm not saying the rise in temperature – which can affect your hormones and boost your senses – was solely to blame for my poor decision-making on this occasion. But it definitely played a part. If this rings true for you as well, I recommend ignoring this particular call of the horn and finding yourself a new lover. Most of the time, I welcome the heatwave horn. But it's important to not give it too much power – especially given Britain isn't exactly known for having a high number of sunshine days. More Trending I highly encourage you to find ways to channel this same positive energy on gloomier days. Oh, and as for Lawrence – the guy I met at the pool – I went to his room later that night and the sex was so mind-blowing I went back for seconds the following evening.
