Deepak Tijori reveals he was asked to teach Hindi to Rahul Roy during Aashiqui: 'I take care of him like he's my baby...'

Deepak Tijori remembers his close relationship with Rahul Roy during Aashiqui. He helped Roy with Hindi and guided him through early fame. Director Mahesh Bhatt entrusted Tijori with Roy's well-being. Tijori describes their bond as a genuine brotherhood. He fondly recalls their reunion on The Kapil Sharma Show. More than three decades after Aashiqui became a musical milestone in Bollywood, actor Deepak Tijori has opened up about the real bond that blossomed behind the scenes. In a heartfelt recollection, Tijori revealed how director Mahesh Bhatt entrusted him with helping a then-newcomer Rahul Roy—guiding him through language hurdles, personal struggles, and the emotional rollercoaster of fame. A reunion full of nostalgia While looking at an old photo of himself with Rahul Roy , Deepak fondly recalled in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, their surprise reunion on The Kapil Sharma Show , celebrating 30 years of Aashiqui. Coming from a modelling background, Roy's Punjabi-tinged Hindi needed work, and Mahesh Bhatt would ask Tijori to 'take him to the corner' and help him get the dialogues right. This mentorship turned into a deep friendship, with Roy often confiding in Tijori about his personal life. Their behind-the-scenes camaraderie, built on trust and laughter, made their connection truly special. 'He was always like a baby to me,' Tijori concluded. Iulia Vantur shares the advice she received from Salman Khan ahead of her acting debut: 'He would have told me to act less'

Iulia Vantur is debuting as an actor in Deepak Tijori's short film. She values the script and working with Tijori. Salman Khan advised her to act less. Tijori recalls being typecast despite Mahesh Bhatt's help. He missed the role in Maine Pyar Kiya. Sooraj Barjatya chose Salman Khan for the role. Tijori accepted the decision maturely. Iulia Vantur is ready to make her on-screen acting debut with Echoes Of Us, a short film directed by Deepak Tijori . While she's already made a name for herself as a singer in India, this marks a new chapter in her creative journey. In a recent interview, Iulia offered insights into what drew her to the project, shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse into her working relationship with Tijori, and reflected on the subtle but significant acting advice she received from longtime supporter Salman Khan. During an appearance on Varinder Chawla's YouTube channel, Tijori admitted he wasn't sure if Iulia Vantur would agree to star in Echoes Of Us. Reacting to this, Iulia clarified that she was drawn to the strong script and called it an honour to work with Tijori, adding there was no reason to turn it down. Salman Khan's Advice When the conversation turned to Salman —who has often been linked to Iulia and also supported the film on social media—the host asked if she ever seeks acting advice from him. With a smile, Iulia quipped that Salman would probably just tell her to 'act less,' emphasizing his belief in subtlety over theatrics. Tijori chimed in during the conversation, noting that Salman Khan's approach to acting aligns with what Mahesh Bhatt also instills in his actors—that 'not acting' is often the hardest, yet most powerful, part of the craft. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Villas For Sale in Dubai Might Surprise You Dubai villas | search ads Get Deals Undo He explained that true skill lies in recognizing when a performance is going overboard and reining it in. Deepak Tijori on Craft and Collaboration Reflecting on his career, he admitted that accepting certain roles out of loyalty to friends had an adverse impact on his professional growth. He acknowledged being typecast by the industry and said that despite Mahesh Bhatt's efforts to help him break that image, commercial considerations ultimately won out. Tijori recalled that Mukesh Bhatt had once advised Mahesh against casting him in a lead role, citing it as a business-driven decision—something he understands and does not resent. Missed Opportunities The actor once shared that he was among the final two contenders for the role of Prem in Maine Pyar Kiya, alongside Salman Khan. While his audition was appreciated, director Sooraj Barjatya ultimately chose Salman, believing his screen image would better suit the romantic tone of the film. Although the decision was disappointing, Deepak accepted it with maturity, acknowledging that the choice made sense for the story they wanted to tell. He has maintained that he never held any resentment over the casting and understood the reasoning behind it.

Deepak Tijori supports Deepika Padukone's 8-hour workday demand post her exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit: ‘Parenting today is a different ballgame'

As debates continue to swirl around Deepika Padukone 's reported demand for an 8-hour workday, and her subsequent replacement in Sandeep Reddy Vanga 's Spirit, actor-director Deepak Tijori has come out in strong support of the actress. Deepika, who exited the Prabhas-starrer reportedly over schedule-related issues, has now been replaced by Animal actress Triptii Dimri. While the conversation has divided Bollywood, Tijori believes it's a much-needed evolution in the way the film industry functions. "It's justified": Deepak Tijori on Deepika's stance Speaking to India Today, Tijori said, 'It's justified. Back then, we didn't have nuclear families. We lived in joint families, and there were always other members around to help take care of the children. Today, that support system is missing. If you're living alone with your spouse and have a child, you have to manage everything yourself.' Tijori, who has been part of the industry since the 90s, added that parenting today involves a different kind of responsibility. Deepika DEMANDS 8 Hour Workday | Suneel Darshan Says She Can Be REPLACED 'Not a hobby—it's a job' Reflecting on how film shoots often stretch for 14–16 hours a day, Tijori acknowledged that while earlier generations may have tolerated these conditions, the new wave of actors is simply drawing the line, and rightly so. 'Those who are demanding better conditions—they have their reasons. They don't have the kind of time we had. They're still working long hours, but today's generation is more vocal about their boundaries, and that's fair. It's not a hobby—it's a job, it's a responsibility,' he said.
