Taiwanese girl group S.H.E reunite – for Hebe Tien's concert

Tien, 42, is on a Live In Life tour in Taiwan, where she is playing at small, scenic locations on the island. She performed at the Outdoor Theatre of National Kaohsiung Centre for the Arts (Weiwuying) on June 21 and 22. The singer posted several throwback photos of her Kaohsiung shows on social media on June 26. They included one of her with bandmates Ella Chen, 44, and Selina Jen, 43. Both Chen and Jen wore the official white T-shirts of the concert. That photo drew the most number of 'likes' – more than 1,700 – on Facebook, compared with fewer than 400 for the other photos. Tien also posted photos of Chen and Jen entering the venue together. 'The city of Kaohsiung has added different stories to my life, and made me deeply understand the uncertainties of life,' Tien wrote in Chinese on June 26. 'It has also taught me to deeply cherish the daily life of being able to sing safely and healthily.' 'Thank you, Kaohsiung, for your acceptance and patience, and thank you to my sisters who have been loving and supporting me all the way, and to the friends who came and cheered for me. Kaohsiung is very hot, not just due to the temperature, but also due to everyone's passionate love,' she added. In September 2022, Tien had to postpone her concerts at Kaohsiung Arena for a week after she came down with a bad bout of flu. She then had to cancel her third and fourth shows due to safety concerns following an earthquake in south-eastern Taiwan. Formed in 2001, S.H.E left its long-time label HIM International Music in 2018, with the three singers setting up their own management agencies. They said they were not disbanding despite going solo. The group's last studio album was 2012's Blossomy . Tien released her fifth studio album, Time Will Tell , in 2020. It nabbed three awards at Taiwan's Golden Melody Awards in 2021, including for Best Female Singer (Mandarin). Meanwhile, Chen took part in reality shows such as Ride The Wind 2023 , where she emerged the winner, and acted in dramas such as Dr Lifesaver (2023 to 2024) and Us Without Sex (2024). She released her second studio album, Bad Habits , in 2024. John Bellany: A Life in Self-Portraiture
An exhibition John Bellany: A Life in Self-Portaiture and a programme of associated events and talks will take place at the City Art Centre from 31 May to 28 September. John Bellany, CBE, RA, is one of the most significant painters of modern times. He was born in Port Seton, the son and grandson of fishermen, and his art regularly features fish and seaside themes. The assembled works on display will include paintings, drawings, prints and sketchbooks from the 1960s to 2103 when he died. He was a prolific artist and in particular he drew many self-portraits almost to the point of obsession. His work helped him to explore personal and universal themes and he often depicted himself as a mythical figure or fantastical character. Some of the exhibition includes art which has never been on public display before, and which is on loan from collections both public and private, as well as some from the artist's estate. His work is on display in many places worldwide including MOMA in New York and the Metropolitan Museum there, and the Yale Center for British Art, New Haven, Connecticut which has a vast collection of art in lofty airy rooms. The works will span his whole career. and there will be a book to accompany the exhibition. This will include a foreword by John Bellany's widow, Helen and essays by Sandy Moffat who was a contemporary at Edinburgh College of Art, and Bill Hare who have curated the exhibition. John Bellany died in 2013 and he is buried in Dean Cemetery, near the National Galleries of Scotland the Modern. Sandy will discuss Bellany's boyhood in Port Seton, their time together at Edinburgh College of Art, his turbulent London years and final years in Italy will all be explored. Thursday 14 August, 2pm – 3pm: 'I don't borrow – I steal': John Bellany and the Art of Visual Quotation Bill Hare will explore Bellany's technique of incorporating visual references from European art history into his own distinctive style, creating rich, multi-layered works. Thursday 21 August, 2pm – 3pm: Time Will Tell Reading from her critically acclaimed memoir, The Restless Wave, Helen Bellany will talk about her enduring relationship with John Bellany. Scott Weiland's Son Noah covers Stone Temple Pilots' classic Sex Type Thing

Noah Weiland, son of the late Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland, has recorded a cover of STP's debut single Sex Type Thing, originally released as the first single from their debut album Push in 1993. Weiland Jr.'s cover of Sex Type Thing is stripped back and acoustic, with guitar courtesy of Violet Saturn guitarist Spencer Carr Reed. "Filmed this about a dream I had long ago about seeing my father again," says Weiland. "It's hard for me to stay in the moment sometimes, but I try." The video features Weiland interacting with a Chucky doll, with captions explaining the dream as the story unfolds, and how it relates to his father. "There was so much I wanted to tell him," reads one caption, "like how much has changed on Earth without him." Last year, Weiland and Reed worked together on Time Will Tell, an updated version of a recording initially made by Scott Weiland as a solo track, claiming they were only releasing it following an extortion threat made by an anonymous blackmailer. In late 2020, Weiland joined the sons of Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash and Metallica bassist Robert Trujilo in Los Angeles band Suspect208, but parted ways with them the following year due to alleged drug use. "As many of you know, we let our singer, Noah, go," said the band in a statement. "We were really close to him and it is the last thing we would've ever wanted to do, but it had to be done for his safety, as well as the longevity of the band. This decision was made by the band because it was the last thing we could do to keep going." Suspect208 disbanded shortly after.
