Narivetta OTT release date: Tovino Thomas and Suraj Venjaramoodu-starrer Narivetta finally has an OTT release date. On Monday, SonyLiv took to their Instagram account to officially announce that the gripping police procedural drama will be releasing on the platform on July 11. Narivetta OTT release date: The film is directed by Anuraj Manohar. Narivetta gets OTT release date Sharing a short teaser of the film, SonyLiv wrote in the caption of the post: 'Echoes of truth, shadows of injustice! Watch Narivetta from July 11 only on Sony LIV.' Tovino was also tagged in a separate post, which shared a bunch of still from the film. About the film Narivetta revolves around the impressionable 28-year-old Varghese (Tovino Thomas), who's in love with Nancy (Priyamvada Krishnan). He dismisses all the jobs he gets as not 'respectable'. Fed up with his antics, Nancy breaks up with him, telling him to sort himself out, and he's eventually forced to join the CPRF as a constable. From here on, his life takes a turn. His seniors taunt him, but compassionate Officer Bashir Ahmed (Suraj Venjaramoodu) takes him under his wing and becomes his mentor-cum-friend. The film then follows a case that is inspired by the real-life 2003 Muthanga tribal protest. Narivetta is produced by Tippushan and Shiyas Hassan under the banner of Indian Cinema Company. Jakes Bejoy composed the music of the film. The film is written by Abin Joseph. Upon its theatrical release, the film was met with strong word-of-mouth and positive audience reception, and went on to screen for 40 days. Tovino had taken to his Instagram account to post sincere audience reactions to the film upon release. Several members of the audience were seen wiping away their tears and giving the film a standing ovation in the theatres.

Tovino Thomas' latest action-packed thriller, Narivetta, has grossed Rs 22 crore worldwide in 12 days since its release. Out of this, Kerala alone has contributed slightly over Rs 13 crore. With a promising trend, Narivetta is expected to comfortably surpass Rs 15 crore in Kerala and breach the Rs 25 crore mark globally. However, whether it can stretch to Rs 30 crore worldwide depends on how it holds up against new releases in the coming weeks. The collections of Narivetta can be called reasonable. The film hasn't set the box office on fire, but it's not a disappointment either. Its steady performance ensures that it's on track to be a safe bet for the makers. Non-theatrical revenues, including satellite, digital, and music rights should ensure that the producers make substantial profits. Tovino Thomas has had a rollercoaster ride at the box office recently. ARM, was a massive blockbuster. However, Identity failed to impress and bombed at the box office. Tovino also played a key supporting role in Empuraan, which emerged as a blockbuster, though Mohanlal's star power led the charge. With Narivetta, Tovino delivers an average performer. This mixed bag of results shows that even a star like Tovino can't guarantee a sure-shot success every time. Mollywood audiences continue to surprise. Unlike other industries where certain stars can almost guarantee a specific opening or lifetime collection, Kerala's moviegoers are unpredictable. The only exception seems to be Mohanlal (based on his current form), whose films consistently draw massive crowds, regardless of the genre or scale. For others, including Tovino, it's a game of content and timing. The coming weeks will be crucial for Narivetta. New films like Thug Life and Housefull 5 hitting theaters could eat into its screen count and subsequently the audience share. The film's strong hold particularly in Kerala gives it a fighting chance to reach the Rs 25 crore milestone globally. Still, the film maintained respectable weekday numbers, closing its first week at Rs 9.9 crore. Amid rumours of rift, Unni Mukundan shares screengrab of chat with Tovino Thomas
This week has been quite trying for Unni Mukundan, who has been accused by former PR manager Vipin Kumar of physical and verbal assault. Even worse, the manager alleged in the police complaint against Unni that the altercation took place over him praising Tovino Thomas' latest film Narivetta on his social media. Unni has, however, made it clear that all is well between him and Tovino. Unni put those rumours to rest with a screenshot of his WhatsApp chat with Tovino. Tovino seemingly sent Unni a 10-second voice note, to which Unni reacted with a GIF. The rest of the chat is of the duo reacting with Mohanlal and Mammootty GIFs to each other. Tovino has yet to react to the issue publicly,y and he's busy promoting his latest release Narivetta on social media. Unni and Tovino have known each other for years now and have been supportive of each other's work. After the police complaint was filed against Unni, he denied any wrongdoing. In a post on Facebook, the actor even claimed that Vipin tried to 'steal credit' for the success of Marco. 'It has come to my notice that many of the problems that adversely affect my job are caused by this person. I'm starting to get many complaints from new and famous film directors and producers for gossip and meaningless talk against Vipin,' he wrote, adding, 'He spread inhuman rumours about me. Contacted an actress and asked her to marry me. This led to a big fight between him and me.' Unni also claimed that he was an 'easy target', alleging those unhappy with him are using Vipin to threaten his career. Vipin filed a police complaint against Unni at the Info Park police station in Kochi, alleging that the actor beat him up and verbally abused him. He spoke to the media afterwards and claimed that Unni had asked him to come to the parking lot of his building on Monday, where he was assaulted. The FIR states that Unni hit Vipin in the face, damaged his sunglasses and threatened to kill him. He also alleged that the actor was 'frustrated' he wasn't getting 'good films after Marco' and was showing that frustration on others. He also claimed that Gokulam Movies backed out of the project that Unni was to direct.
