Why TripAdvisor (TRIP) is a Top Value Stock for the Long-Term

Taking full advantage of the stock market and investing with confidence are common goals for new and old investors alike. Many investors also have a go-to methodology that helps guide their buy and sell decisions. One way to find winning stocks based on your preferred way of investing is to use the Zacks Style Scores, which are indicators that rate stocks based on three widely-followed investing types: value, growth, and momentum. Finding good stocks at good prices, and discovering which companies are trading under their true value, are what value investors like to focus on. So, the Value Style Score takes into account ratios like P/E, PEG, Price/Sales, and Price/Cash Flow to highlight the most attractive and discounted stocks. Headquartered in Massachusetts, TripAdvisor, Inc. is one of the largest online travel research companies in the world. The company provides a platform for users to share reviews, ratings and opinions on hotels, destinations, attractions and restaurants. The company also facilitates bookings between hotel suppliers and consumers using its web portals. TRIP is a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy) stock, with a Value Style Score of B and VGM Score of A. Shares are currently trading at a forward P/E of 8.8X for the current fiscal year compared to the Internet - Commerce industry's P/E 24.8X. Additionally, TRIP has a PEG Ratio of 0.9 and a Price/Cash Flow ratio of 10.8X. Value investors should also note TRIP's Price/Sales ratio of 1X. Value investors don't just pay attention to a company's valuation ratios; positive earnings play a crucial role, too. Four analysts revised their earnings estimate upwards in the last 60 days for fiscal 2025. The Zacks Consensus Estimate has increased $0.11 to $1.47. TRIP has an average earnings surprise of 59.8%. Investors should take the time to consider TRIP for their portfolios due to its solid Zacks Ranks, notable earnings and valuation metrics, and impressive Value and VGM Style Scores. 'Delightful' but lesser-known village is the perfect spot for a UK seaside break

A cold pint on a summer day is one of life's greatest pleasures — and apparently so is a trip to its namesake. In a recent survey of 4,000 Which? members, the consumer champion crowned Beer, Devon, as one of the UK's top seaside towns, only beaten to the top spot by popular Northumbrian resort, Bamburgh. This lesser-known spot, just west of Seaton on the Jurassic Coast, was given an 80% destination score by voters, landing it second place on the list ahead of Portmeirion, St David's and Sidmouth. Visitors gave Beer five stars for scenery, along with four stars for both value for money and peace and quiet. Its beach and seafront were less highly-rated with three stars each, but 42 of the 52 who'd been there said they were satisfied with the location and would recommend it. It seems Tripadvisor reviewers agree too: David D called beer a 'delightful quaint village', while Keith J urged people to 'raise a glass to Beer,' adding: 'Charming village, great local food, lovely people. It's a great place to stay for a relaxing holiday. Highly recommended.' Fancy trying Beer for your next UK seaside trip? Here's a taste of what to expect. Bamburgh Beer Portmeirion Saint David's Sidmouth Tynemouth Dungeness Tenby Aldeburgh Wells-Next-The-Sea Source: TripAdvisor The main draw of this picturesque village – mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 – is its beach, which is a pebbled bay surrounded by limestone cliffs and dotted with old-school deckchairs. Although it doesn't boast the golden sands of nearby Seaton, Beer Beach comes with its own unique set of attractions. Get a feel for its history as a smuggler's haven with a tour of Beer Quarry Caves or head out on a boat trip with a local fisherman — or, if you'd rather stay on land, sample their wares at one of the stalls selling fresh seafood and various other refreshments. For those that prefer a more chilled out break, you can hire a beach hut and before taking a picnic up to Jubilee Gardens for incredible views along the coast. Alternatively, more adventurous types can see the sights via the South West Coast Path (on foot or by bicycle). There are a number of independent shops, restaurants and pubs to enjoy too, with visitors pinpointing Gina's, Smuggler's Kitchen, Barrel of Beer and The Anchor as particular highlights. Don't forget to check out Pecorama, a popular tourist attraction featuring model railways and award-winning gardens located on the hillside just above Beer. And if you don't mind venturing a few miles outside the village, the likes of Crealy Theme Park & Resort and the Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary are sure to keep the whole family entertained. Accommodation in Beer is mainly made up of guest houses and holiday rentals, with the likes of Bay View and The Dolphin Hotel coming in at just over £100 per night. More Trending Beer Head Holiday Park is a great alternative option though, with a six-berth caravan available from £425 a week and camping for as little as £30 per tent per night. By car, it takes about four hours to drive from London to Beer. The nearest railway station to the village is Axminster, around 9 miles (14 km) away on the Exeter to Waterloo line. One-way tickets from London are priced from £15.30 according to Trainline, with the journey taking around three hours. There's then a bus link from the train station to Beer – which also provides easy access to nearby towns and villages like Seaton and Branscombe – but if you'd prefer to take a taxi, it'll cost roughly £20. UK seaside town boasts Victorian charm and £66 hotels but there's a catch

If you like architecture and shopping, this UK seaside town just seven miles from Blackpool could be for you. But a recent survey has plunged it into an unfavourable light A family friendly seaside town in northern England has been named among the worst in the country, but a huge regeneration plan hopes to put it back on the map. Despite its picturesque views in Lancashire, and its Art Deco theatre, Fleetwood was ranked 15th out of 20 in a new UK seaside town ranking by consumer experts at Which? Making up its less than impressive score, it was rated just two stars for its beaches, and just one star for its food scene and tourist attractions. ‌ TripAdvisor reviews do offer a mixed bag of reviews, with one labelling the promenade "tidy and well presented". But another summed up their experience which echoes more of Which?'s ratings. It said: "Apart from a couple of cafes, there is literally nothing to do. We had a nice walk that was very peaceful. Just amazed at how there really is nothing there." ‌ There's no escaping the fact that Fleetwood has had a fluctuating reputation over the years - but a comeback could be on the horizon. A £16 million masterplan is set to transform the town in the coming years, but before its proposed tourism boom, staycationers can lap up hotel prices of just £66, which is among the cheapest in the list compiled by Which? What does Fleetwood actually have to offer? Fleetwood is relatively small, with just over 25,000 residents as previously reported by The Express. The town enjoyed a massive expansion in the early 20th century thanks to a growing fishing industry and the arrival of passenger ferries. One of the key highlights of the resort town is, despite their brutal ranking, the beaches. Rossall Beach is ideal for those looking for seclusion. However, if you're in the mood for outdoor activities, Marine Beach has a livelier atmosphere, with shops and restaurants nearby. Despite its seaside proximity, Fleetwood is regularly overshadowed by its famous neighbour: Blackpool. Blackpool continues to be named one of the best budget-friendly seaside resorts in the UK - drawing hundreds of thousands of tourists over the years. But one of the things that sets Fleetwood apart is its art deco buildings - the most prominent being Marine Hall which sits on the town's seafront. The Hall is one of the best entertainment venues in Wyre and retains the character of its 1930s art-deco heritage. ‌ Marine Hall & Gardens hosts a year-round line-up of live music shows, comedy nights and family-friendly events. It has become a hub for the local community with a stunning ballroom and iconic glazed dome. The Which? survey did, however, give high marks for shopping - best along the promenade - and 'peace and quiet'. ‌ Arcadis' Fleetwood Waterfront Leisure Masterplan, which was submitted to the council in August 2024, reveals £16 million worth of transformation plans that start with the redevelopment of Marine Hall. Blueprints show how the space could be transformed with a more 'prominent glazed entrance and foyer' from Marine Gardens, along with upgraded toilets with a new entrance, and vast improvements to the waterfront restaurant, including floor-to-ceiling glass windows. Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, Councillor Peter Le Marinel, Planning Policy and Economic Development Portfolio Holder, revealed the council's vision for Fleetwood to become a 'dynamic and lively place to live, work and visit' has been in the works for years. ‌ He hailed the town's 'rich history' and 'striking coastline', drawing attention to 'remarkable' Heritage sites such as the Fleetwood Market and the art-deco Marine Hall theatre, which are in need of a major refurb. "We are committed to enhancing the town's existing assets, attracting investment and funding to help Fleetwood achieve its full potential," Peter added. "We have appointed Arcadis, who also served as consultants for the original Masterplan, to develop business cases for four projects outlined in the Masterplan."] Rory Boland, Editor of Which? Travel said: 'From beautiful coastlines to peaceful walks and charming traditional bucket and spade resorts, the UK seaside offers something for everyone - whatever the weather. 'While you may have your own favourite destination, as well as the top spots in Devon and Wales, our survey shows there are still plenty of beautiful hidden gems across the UK to explore. Some seaside resorts offer better value for money than others, so it is worth looking at surrounding areas of popular spots if you are looking for a cheaper overnight stay.'

Four nights in Prague and Budapest including flights, train and tour

This isn't a fantasy: it's what awaits Scottish visitors who choose Orbis Travels' expertly curated Prague and Budapest package. With their impressive 4.7 TripAdvisor rating reflecting consistently excellent customer service, Orbis Travels has crafted a seamless four-night adventure that transforms the often daunting prospect of multi-city European travel into an effortless journey of discovery. The package includes flights from Scotland, accommodation, and crucially, train travel between the two cities, eliminating the stress of coordinating complex logistics. Prague's Old Town Square serves as the perfect introduction to this enchanting city. The Gothic spires of Týn Church pierce the sky like something from a Brothers Grimm tale, whilst the baroque splendour of St. Nicholas Church provides a stunning counterpoint. But Prague's magic extends far beyond its architectural treasures. No visit is complete without ascending Prague Castle, the world's largest ancient castle complex. Perched majestically above the city, it offers sweeping views across the red-tiled rooftops to the meandering Vltava River. Inside, St. Vitus Cathedral showcases some of Europe's finest Gothic architecture, whilst the Old Royal Palace whispers tales of Bohemian kings. For a quintessentially Prague experience, venture across the iconic Charles Bridge at dawn. As morning mist rises from the river, the 14th-century stone bridge, adorned with baroque statues, feels almost mystical. Later, explore the trendy Vinohrady district, where art nouveau buildings house contemporary galleries, craft beer bars, and innovative restaurants serving modern Czech cuisine that goes far beyond the hearty goulash stereotype. The train journey from Prague to Budapest becomes part of the adventure itself, with Orbis Travels arranging tickets in advance. (Image: Budapest is both bohemian and cultured) This scenic seven-hour journey winds through Moravian vineyards and Slovakian countryside, offering glimpses of rural Central Europe that remain unchanged for centuries. Budapest reveals itself in layers. The hilly Buda side, crowned by the majestic Royal Palace, surveys the flat Pest side across the mighty Danube. This geographical divide creates a city of stunning contrasts and perpetual visual drama. The Parliament building, an architectural masterpiece inspired by the Houses of Parliament in London, dominates the Pest skyline. Its Gothic Revival spires and dome create one of Europe's most photographed facades, particularly when illuminated at night. Inside, the crown jewels of Hungary rest in splendour, testament to the nation's royal heritage. As evening falls, Budapest transforms into one of Europe's most dynamic nightlife destinations. The famous ruin pubs, like Szimpla Kert, occupy crumbling buildings filled with mismatched furniture, bathtubs-turned-planters, and an atmosphere that's both bohemian and utterly magnetic. What sets this package apart is the thoughtful curation. Orbis Travels' excellent customer service reputation stems from their attention to detail and staff expertise, ensuring travellers experience these cities' highlights without the usual pitfalls of independent travel. How to Plan Unforgettable River Adventures From Edinburgh

Exploring Scotland's rivers is a unique way to experience the landscape, culture, and history. For Edinburgh locals, planning river adventures is both appealing and surprisingly straightforward. Whether it's a weekend getaway or an afternoon escape, there are options for every schedule and budget. Here are some tips on how to plan the trip effectively, so it runs smoothly. Image Source: Pexels Choosing the Right River for Your Adventure Not every river offers the same experience. Think about what you want most from your trip before deciding where to go. Scotland's waterways offer a range of options depending on interests and abilities. For example: If stunning landscapes are your thing, try the River Spey If you're interested in history, consider cruising along the Union Canal Looking for an adventure-filled day? Opt for whitewater sections on rivers like the Tay Check water levels and weather conditions in advance, as they can significantly impact both safety and scenery. Look into access points or docking locations nearby that align with your starting point from Edinburgh. Also, bear in mind that a shorter river route might suit beginners and families better than expansive waterways. With proper research tailored to your preferences, choosing a suitable river becomes straightforward. Researching Local Operators and Cruise Options The operator you choose plays a big role in the success of your trip. Take time to review available services before booking. In addition: Read customer reviews on sites like TripAdvisor or Trustpilot Look for operators that specialise in Scottish rivers for local expertise Check if they offer guided tours or self-steer options, depending on your preference As a point of comparison, research the best Thames River cruises in London in 2025 and see how offerings differ between Scotland's smaller, serene waterways and England's iconic river routes. Pay attention to details like group sizes, onboard amenities, and flexibility with departure times. Contact companies directly with questions about their safety certifications or unique features offered along specific rivers. The more informed you are ahead of time, the smoother your adventure will unfold! Planning ensures no surprises disrupt your day out on Scotland's beautiful waterways. Best Seasons to Plan River Excursions from Edinburgh Timing is everything when it comes to enjoying a river adventure. The season you choose impacts water conditions, scenery, and overall experience. Keep in mind: Spring offers blooming landscapes and calmer waterways Summer provides longer days and warmer temperatures for comfort Autumn highlights stunning foliage along the banks of Scotland's rivers Winter may appeal less for excursions due to cold weather, shorter daylight hours, and potential safety concerns from icy or unpredictable waters. However, some operators still run scenic tours if you're prepared with proper gear. Check seasonal events or festivals happening near your chosen river. These can add an extra layer of excitement to your trip. Be mindful that summer tends to be busier, and booking in advance helps secure spots during peak months. Also, calculate your budget carefully so that you have a sense of when the most affordable period is to plan your adventure. Essential Gear and Packing Tips Packing smart makes your river adventure more enjoyable. Prepare for varying conditions with practical essentials. To do this: Wear waterproof clothing or pack an extra layer in case of rain Bring non-slip footwear to stay safe on wet surfaces Carry sunscreen, even on cloudy days, as UV rays reflect off the water Keep a small, dry bag handy for storing valuables, such as phones, wallets, and cameras. Pack light snacks and reusable water bottles to keep hydrated without contributing waste. If you're planning a longer excursion or an overnight trip, consider including items such as compact blankets or sleeping bags designed for outdoor use. Always carry a basic first-aid kit with bandages and antiseptics. Lastly, consider binoculars if wildlife spotting is part of your plan. Understanding Safety Guidelines Along the Waterways Staying safe should always be a priority during river adventures. Following basic guidelines reduces risks and ensures everyone has a good time. For starters: Wear a life jacket at all times, even if you're confident in your swimming abilities Check local weather forecasts to avoid sudden storms or rough conditions, as mentioned Familiarise yourself with the river's current speed and potential hazards like rocks or fallen trees For guided trips, listen carefully to the instructions from the operators. If navigating independently, review maps of the area beforehand and stick to recommended routes for less experienced adventurers. Avoid alcohol while on the water as it impairs judgment and reaction time. Keep emergency contact numbers saved on your phone or written down in case of unexpected issues. And of course, respect posted signs around rivers about restricted areas or wildlife protections. Final Thoughts Planning a river adventure from Edinburgh is simple with the right approach. Researching options, preparing essentials, and prioritising safety means you can create unforgettable experiences on Scotland's waterways. Take time to plan carefully, and you'll enjoy a trip that blends relaxation, exploration, and stunning scenery in equal measure. Like this: Like Related
