Why is Seth Rollins MISSING from WWE Night of Champions 2025? What is Triple H's masterplan?

Some of the top WWE stars that will be present during the WWE Night of Champions include Rhea Ripley, Asuka, John Cena, CM Punk, Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes. But a big name that is not going to be present in the event is Seth Rollins. The WWE, Night of Champions 2025 will be one of the most promising events of the year as it is planned in Saudi Arabia. It is anticipated that the event will involve some of the best WWE superstars and this will attract massive attention all over the world. But, to the surprise of many fans, the biggest star name that is not there in the official card is that of Seth Rollins, which has created speculation and raised a lot of worry. Although Seth Rollins is a member of the current main roster of WWE and one of the biggest and most regular practitioners at that, he has not been booked to appear in Night of Champions. His absence is a mystery to fans, especially because of the magnitude of the event. It has not been officially stated whether he even shall even be in the show, creating more mystery on his omission. A probable explanation of Rollins absence may be the much-awaited match between CM Punk and John Cena with John Cena facing-off to defend his world title. Rollins and Punk are known to have a real-life feud and they are said to despise eachother. In order to prevent backstage politics or an unwarranted meeting, it is possible that WWE management, probably Triple H, chose to place them on different shows. The chances are that Rollins may appear at the Night of Champions. Because of possessing the Money in the Bank briefcase, he can cash in on the world champion at any given time. To make things even more interesting is a surprise which WWE may be planning where Rollins may cash in his briefcase and leave as the world champion, a big twist to the event. The other possibility of the absence of Rollins is the stacked match card. To pace and ensure quality, Triple H tend to limit premium live events to four to six matches. Night of Champions already consists of six marquee matches, such as Asuka vs. Jade Cargill, Rhea Ripley vs. Raquel Rodriguez, Cena vs. Punk, Solo Sikoa vs. Jacob Fatu, Karrion Kross vs. Sami Zayn, and Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes, so it is questionable where to fit Rollins in. Finally, the reasons Roland could have omitted Rollins may be combined. Whenever you think of backstage politics, balance of the storyline, logistics of schedules and creative surprises WWE, can be affording the long game with one of its most valuable commodities.

Popular WWE Faction Officially Breaks Up

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. WWE has officially confirmed the end of the Damage CTRL faction. The group's split was acknowledged on the June 23rd edition of Monday Night Raw. Damage CTRL, formed at SummerSlam 2022, was a dominant force in WWE's women's division. The original trio of Bayley, IYO SKY, and Dakota Kai immediately targeted the top stars, with Kai and SKY capturing the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship twice. The faction expanded in late 2023, adding Asuka and Kairi Sane (The Kabuki Warriors), who also won the tag team titles. The group's most significant storyline saw them turn on their leader, Bayley, after she won the 2024 Royal Rumble. This led to a marquee match at WrestleMania 40, where Bayley defeated IYO SKY to win the WWE Women's Championship. Following WrestleMania, the group slowly dissolved due to injuries and Dakota Kai's release from WWE. This confirmation follows recent reports that the group had been quietly disbanded. The faction had been together for nearly three years. Several factors contributed to the group's end. Asuka was out of action with an injury for over a year, and Kai was released from her WWE contract during that time. She has won two consecutive matches to advance to the finals of the Queen of the Ring tournament. WWE's On-Screen Acknowledgement During a backstage segment on Raw, Women's World Champion IYO SKY approached Asuka. She congratulated her former partner on her recent success. SKY noted that if Asuka wins the tournament, they could face each other at SummerSlam. This was something they had discussed while in Damage CTRL. Asuka's response was blunt and confirmed the group's status. She reminded SKY that they are no longer in Damage CTRL. This dialogue was the first time WWE has acknowledged the faction's end on television. It signals a new direction for the former members. Other Damage CTRL Members Move On Another former member of the group was also in action on Raw. Bayley unsuccessfully challenged Becky Lynch for the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship. Asuka is now focused on the Queen of the Ring tournament finals at Night of Champions. A victory would earn her a world title match at SummerSlam in August in New Jersey. Former WWE star Batista eyed for Road House 2 sequel

Image via WWE Former WWE Champion Dave Bautista, popularly known to wrestling fans as Batista, is reportedly being eyed for a role in Road House 2 according to Deadline, the sequel to the 2024 Amazon Prime remake of the classic 1989 film. While talks with Amazon MGM Studios are yet to officially begin, industry insiders suggest the offer is on the table. The sequel will once again star Jake Gyllenhaal as Dalton, a role made iconic in the reboot, which pulled in more than 50 million views in its opening weekends on Prime Video. This time, Road House 2 will be helmed by Guy Ritchie, replacing Doug Liman, with a new script penned by Will Beall of Bad Boys: Ride or Die fame. From the ring to the big screen Bautista, who retired from wrestling in 2019 after his final match against Triple H at WrestleMania 35, has since carved out a space in Hollywood with roles in blockbusters like Guardians of the Galaxy, Dune, and Glass Onion. However, his name being linked to a sequel of an action-heavy reboot has sparked mixed reactions online. Despite the film's popularity, some fans believe it's a step back for the actor, who has publicly expressed interest in taking on more nuanced and dramatic roles. Fans have been quick to voice their opinions following the news. One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, 'I thought he wanted real movie roles?' Another added, 'What a downgrade.' Some questioned Bautista's recent body transformation, suggesting it signaled a departure from traditional action roles. On the flip side, others came to his defence. 'If anyone can bring some heat to Road House 2, it's gotta be Bautista,' one supporter commented. Another added, 'Dave Bautista as Dalton? That's a wild swing but I'm here for it.' While his Hollywood career continues to blossom, fans holding out hope for a Batista in-ring comeback may be disappointed. The former World Heavyweight Champion has made it clear that he has no plans to return to wrestling, stating that he wants his 2019 farewell to remain intact. As Road House 2 gears up for production, it remains to be seen whether Bautista will officially sign on. Either way, the buzz proves the former WWE star continues to be a major draw - whether in the squared circle or on the silver screen.
