Midsomer Murders mystery over 'missing' new episodes as fan favourite takes on new role

Midsomer Murders' theatre show might soon be getting underway but fans have been left puzzled by a set of 'missing' episodes that are yet to air on ITV Midsomer Murders fans have been left puzzled over a string of 'missing' episodes. A new version of the hit ITV drama is now in the works, with a stage show seeing a former star take on the lead role. ‌ Daniel Casey - who played young Troy in the first series of the hit ITV show alongside John Nettles, who played DCI Barnaby - will now take on the role of Barnaby in a special UK tour of Midsomer Murders: The Killings at Badger's Drift. ‌ Speaking about his new role, Daniel said: "I never expected to revisit the world of Midsomer, with its weird and wonderful characters and all their dark, twisted secrets. So to be asked to play the iconic role of Detective Chief Inspector Barnaby in this new stage adaptation of The Killings at Badger's Drift was a real surprise. Workshopping the play, you realise the characters have an inherent theatricality, which is perfect to bring to the stage. ‌ "It has brought back some wonderful memories of such a happy time in my career playing Sergeant Troy and the fantastic time I had working with the amazing John Nettles and to be stepping into his shoes as Barnaby is both a little daunting and incredibly exciting." John also had his say on his former second-in-command taking on the lead role. ‌ "How wonderful that the original tale of murder and intrigue in Midsomer will be solved by Daniel, in this new stage version of Badger's Drift. Daniel brought the young Troy to life so brilliantly in the original TV pilot of the book and I'm delighted that he gets to lead the investigation in this theatre adaption," he said of the new part for his former sergeant. "He has a fabulous track record in his stage work – and had a marvellous DCI to teach him the detecting ropes, back in the day!" Ahead of the stage show, fans have been desperate to find out when the programme will be back on ITV. It has aired sporadically as of late, owing to TV schedules and changes. There had also been fears that the show might have been axed. However, the 24th series has been confirmed for ITV eventually, with the four-episode line-up already airing abroad. Kicking off with The Devil's Work, the synopsis reads: "The demise of the Shirewell patriarch sparks a vicious inheritance dispute when eldest son Lucian announces plans to break up an estate that's been in his family for centuries." Following that, there will be Book Of The Dead, Claws Out and A Climate Of Death.

Alabama football 2025 season preview, predictions: Brody Dalton

During the spring transfer portal window, there simply was not much action from the Alabama Crimson Tide. Not only did Alabama not lose anyone to the portal, but the Crimson Tide also added only two transfers during the window as well, both of which were tight ends. One of those two was Brody Dalton, a transfer addition from within the state of Alabama where he played previously at Troy, and brings a significant amount of collegiate experience to the Crimson Tide's tight end room. Let's take a look at everything you need to know about Alabama's newest tight end, Brody Dalton, entering the 2025 season. Brody Dalton player information Brody Dalton career stats Dalton will be entering his fifth season of college football in 2025, having previously played collegiately at both UAB and Troy from 2021-24. Over those four seasons, Dalton has hauled in a combined 24 receptions for 339 yards and three touchdowns, a majority of which came the last two years while at Troy. Brody Dalton 2024 stats Dalton is coming off a breakout 2024 campaign in which he posted multiple career-high's statistically at Troy. With the Trojans, Dalton had a career-high 15 receptions for 188 yards and three touchdowns. Brody Dalton recruiting ranking Coming out of high school, Dalton was considered as the nation's No. 2,275 overall player in the 2021 class, per the 247Sports Composite rankings. Committed to UAB, Dalton, a three-star prospect, was also rated the nation's No. 121 overall tight end, as well as the No. 100 player in the state of Alabama where he attended Fyffe High School. Prior to Alabama, Dalton was considered as the nation's No. 396 overall player in the transfer portal from this past offseason, according to 247Sports. Dalton, who committed to Alabama in April 2025, was also considered a three-star prospect, as well as the No. 19 overall tight end. Brody Dalton 2025 season outlook A position group that is loaded with options, it feels likely that Dalton plays a role for the Crimson Tide at some point in 2025. However, as to what that role is currently likely comes as an unknown, as both Josh Cuevas and Danny Lewis Jr. are at the moment expected to start, while others such as Kaleb Edwards are other options. Based on his experience though, it feels likely that Dalton will see time for the Crimson Tide this season, potentially coming in a notable role as both a pass catcher and blocker. Overall, expect Dalton to play a role in some form for the Crimson Tide this fall, providing depth and experience. Aurum strikes 7.5-gold ounce dirt in West African ground

Aurum Resources has reported exceptional recent results from ongoing exploration diamond drilling at the company's Boundiali gold project in Côte d'Ivoire, where it holds an 80 per cent interest in the BM tenement. The company has completed 23 diamond core holes totalling 5728.9 metres of drilling at its BM Target 3 deposit within Boundiali. The program has yielded more high-grade gold intercepts, including a best hole delivering 4.2m at 80.64 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 107m depth, including 2.9m at 116.66g/t gold and 1.43m at an astonishing 234.35g/t gold. A separate run intercepted 5.66m at 6.99g/t gold from 121m. A 234.35g/t gold grade equates to more than 7.5 Troy ounces of gold per tonne. A second-best hole intercepted 13m at 2.18g/t gold from 40m, including 5m at 3.39g/t gold. A third-best hole in the current assays cored through 3m at 4.32g/t gold from 332m, including 1m at 8.88g/t gold. 'It is my pleasure to announce further shallow high-grade gold intercepts at the Boundiali project, including 234.35 g/t gold over 1.43m within 80.46 g/t gold over 4.2m from 107m.' Aurum Resources managing director Dr Caigen Wang All depths are downhole dimensions. The true widths are estimated to be between 60–80 per cent of the downhole lengths. The latest results further strengthen the overall highly prospective indications gained from a growing body of recent drilling results. These now include 17 selected holes with hot intercepts such as 3m at 50.56g/t gold from 124m, including 1m at 150.5g/t gold, a long run of 29m at 1.55g/t from 178m, including 13m at 2.19g/t gold, and a separate hole which nailed 1.19m at an eye-watering 277.54g/t gold from 31m. The last results equate to 8.9 ounces per tonne. Aurum Resources managing director Dr Caigen Wang said: 'It is my pleasure to announce further shallow high-grade gold intercepts at the Boundiali project, including 234.35 g/t gold over 1.43m within 80.46 g/t gold over 4.2m from 107m. This intercept, located 70m west and 100m down dip from a 230m-long artisanal open pit, was from drilling targeting extensions of known mineralisation in the current BMT3 MRE.'

30 Years of APEAL: All Vehicle Areas Improve for First Time in Nearly a Decade, J.D. Power Finds

Porsche (Premium) and MINI (Mass Market) Highest-Ranking Brands for Second Consecutive Year TROY, Mich., July 24, 2025--(BUSINESS WIRE)--New-vehicle owners today are more passionate about their vehicle than ever, according to the J.D. Power 2025 U.S. Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study,SM released today. Overall satisfaction is 851 (on a 1,000-point scale), an increase of 4 index points from a year ago and the highest level since the study was last redesigned in 2020. Switch Auto Insurance and Save Today! Great Rates and Award-Winning Service The Insurance Savings You Expect Affordable Auto Insurance, Customized for You Scores in all 10 categories in the study improve compared with last year—an achievement for the industry that has not occurred in almost a decade. The gains are led by a 13-point improvement in satisfaction with fuel economy, followed by infotainment and interior, which each increase by 6 points. "For three decades, the APEAL Study has tracked which new vehicles excite and delight owners the most," said Frank Hanley, senior director of auto benchmarking at J.D. Power. "Manufacturers have made significant advancements that continue to redefine the vehicle ownership experience and have become more adept at translating innovation into meaningful customer engagement. However, the study finds that owners of new models have lower levels of satisfaction with vehicle setup and startup—as well as infotainment systems—compared with owners of carryover models. This suggests that increasing technology and menu complexity remain persistent challenges for the industry." Now in its 30th year, the APEAL Study complements the annual J.D. Power U.S. Initial Quality StudySM (IQS) and the J.D. Power U.S. Tech Experience Index (TXI) StudySM by measuring owners' emotional attachment and level of excitement with their new vehicle. The APEAL Study asks owners to consider 37 attributes, ranging from the sense of comfort they feel when climbing into the driver's seat to their exhilaration when they step on the accelerator. Vehicle owners' responses to queries about these attributes are aggregated to compute an overall APEAL Index score. Following are some key findings of the 2025 study: Premium brands outpace mass market brands in emotional satisfaction gains, led by Tesla: While emotional satisfaction among owners of mass market brands improves 2 points, it rises 11 points among owners of premium vehicles, largely driven by Tesla. The brand has achieved a year-over-year improvement of 20 points or more across all categories in the study, with the exception of powertrain (+6 points), which has consistently remained its area of greatest strength. Complicated technology derails owner satisfaction with new-model launches: Owners of carryover models express more emotional affinity for their vehicle than do owners of new-model launches (852 vs. 846, respectively) for a second consecutive year. Similarly, new models—which make up 14% of the industry this year—suffered from lower quality performance in this year's J.D. Power U.S. Initial Quality Study. Also, in this year's APEAL Study, the largest satisfaction gaps for launch vehicles are in vehicle setup/startup (via the app) and infotainment—gaps that are especially pronounced in the premium segment, where carryover models score 48 points higher for setup/startup and 26 points higher for infotainment. Satisfaction more consistent among ICE and hybrid owners: The study indicates that among new-vehicle owners, internal combustion engine (ICE) and hybrid vehicles deliver more consistent satisfaction, while plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) and battery electric vehicles (BEVs) exhibit greater year-over-year fluctuations. Notably, satisfaction among owners of BEVs (860, excluding Tesla) drops 17 points from a year ago when comparing across fuel types, while PHEVs (855) improve 14 points. Customers indicate that PHEVs and hybrids hit the sweet spot for pleasing them with regard to fuel economy, range and charging speed. Individual user profiles boost vehicle appeal: Just over half (55%) of vehicle owners are creating individual user profiles in their vehicle—features that allow personalization of settings such as seat position and climate control. The study reveals that premium vehicle owners are adopting this feature at twice the rate of mass market owners, and that when profiles are set up, owners across both segments cite increased emotional satisfaction. Highest-Ranking Brands Porsche ranks highest among premium brands for a second consecutive year, with a score of 890. Land Rover (886) ranks second and BMW (881) ranks third. MINI ranks highest among mass market brands for a second consecutive year, with a score of 876. Dodge (868) ranks second and GMC (852) ranks third. Model-Level APEAL Awards The corporation receiving the most model-level awards (for models ranking highest in their respective segment) is BMW AG (five segment awards and highest-ranking model), followed by Hyundai Motor Group (four segment awards), and Ford Motor Company and Volkswagen AG, each with three segment awards. The complete list of award recipients is: BMW AG: BMW X6, BMW X1, BMW 4 Series, BMW X4 and MINI CountrymanHyundai Motor Group: Hyundai Santa Fe, Hyundai Santa Cruz, Kia K4 and Kia K5Ford Motor Company: Ford Super Duty, Ford Mustang and Lincoln NautilusVolkswagen AG: Volkswagen Porsche Taycan and Porsche 911General Motors Company: Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Hummer EVNissan Motor Co., Ltd: Nissan Rogue and Nissan MuranoJaguar Land Rover Limited: Land Rover Range RoverToyota Motor Corporation: Lexus ESStellantis NV: Dodge Durango BMW X6 is the highest-ranking individual model. See the rank charts and list of model-level award winners at The 2025 U.S. APEAL Study is based on responses from 92,964 owners of new 2025 model-year vehicles who were surveyed after 90 days of ownership.
