Trump Media Now Boasts $2 Billion of Bitcoin. How Should You Play DJT Stock Here?
Trump Media & Technology Group (DJT) shares surged more than 3% on Monday after the company revealed that it has accumulated $2 billion in Bitcoin (BTCUSD) and Bitcoin-related securities, representing two-thirds of its total $3 billion in liquid assets. The cryptocurrency strategy marks a pivot for the Truth Social parent company, which has allocated an additional $300 million to an options acquisition strategy for Bitcoin-related securities. Management statements indicate that DJT plans to continue accumulating Bitcoin and may convert options to spot Bitcoin based on market conditions. 'We're rigorously implementing our publicly announced strategy and fulfilling our Bitcoin treasury plan,' CEO Devin Nunes announced, citing financial freedom and protection against institutional discrimination as key motivations. DJT also teased plans for a utility token across the Truth Social ecosystem. DJT now functions as a Bitcoin proxy play, similar to MicroStrategy (MSTR) but with added social media exposure. The massive crypto allocation creates volatility tied to Bitcoin's price movements, offering both substantial upside potential and downside risk. Bulls should consider DJT's first-mover advantage in combining social media with a crypto treasury strategy, especially given company namesake President Donald Trump's pro-crypto stance. However, bears must weigh the risk of concentration in having two-thirds of their assets in volatile digital currencies. With Bitcoin recently hitting new highs and Trump's political influence benefiting crypto adoption, with the president recently signing the Genius Act into law, DJT could attract momentum traders. Conservative investors should carefully consider position sizing, given the inherent volatility of both cryptocurrency and meme stock dynamics. Trump Media Expands Its Product Portfolio Earlier this month, Trump Media & Technology announced the successful global launch of its Truth+ streaming platform, marking an expansion beyond its core Truth Social social media business. The platform is now available worldwide across iOS, Android, web, and connected TV devices, including Apple TV (AAPL), Android TV, Amazon Fire (AMZN), and Roku (ROKU), with LG and Samsung apps pending approval. The flagship addition is Newsmax's (NMAX) international channel availability, supporting the network's global expansion efforts. Nunes emphasized DJT's mission to 'challenge the woke news monolith with hard-hitting, non-woke reporting and commentary,' positioning Truth+ as an alternative to mainstream streaming services. Simultaneously, Trump Media filed trademarks for 'Truth Social AI' and 'Truth Social AI Search,' signaling plans to integrate artificial intelligence directly into the Truth Social platform. Nunes described AI integration as 'a big push forward' to develop Truth Social as a 'one-stop-shop for reliable information, non-woke news, and entertainment.' Most notably, DJT filed an initial SEC registration statement for the Truth Social Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF, which would hold 75% Bitcoin and 25% Ether (ETHUSD). will serve as the exclusive custodian and execution agent, with shares planned for listing on the NYSE Arca Exchange upon regulatory approval. These developments represent Trump Media's ambitious diversification strategy, expanding from social media into streaming, AI, and cryptocurrency ETFs. Investors should note that despite the recent business updates, analysts tracked by Barchart do not provide ratings or price targets on DJT stock. Donald Trump launches streaming platform Truth+ with Newsmax channel to promote ‘non-woke' content
In a bold effort to reshape the global media landscape, US President Donald Trump has officially launched Truth+, a worldwide television streaming platform under the umbrella of Trump Media & Technology Group. Marketed as a new home for conservative and 'non-woke' content, Truth+ aims to offer a curated mix of live TV channels and on-demand programming that aligns with traditional, family-friendly values. The platform's launch marks a significant expansion of Trump's ongoing efforts to create a full-fledged alternative to mainstream media, building on the foundation of his social media platform Truth Social. With Newsmax, a right-leaning news outlet known for its favorable coverage of Trump, as a flagship channel, Truth+ is now available globally on iOS, Android, Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and other connected devices. Donald Trump's global platform Truth+ for 'America First' content and commentary According to Trump Media, Truth+ is designed to offer viewers an alternative to what they describe as the 'woke news monolith.' The platform promises to deliver news, commentary, and entertainment programming rooted in conservative principles, while also emphasizing 'America First' ideologies. With a focus on family-safe content, the streaming service is curated to appeal not just to political audiences but also to households seeking traditional values in their viewing options. Trump Media CEO Devin Nunes emphasized this mission, stating that there's a growing global demand for 'fresh perspectives on the great issues of our day' and that Truth+ intends to challenge the dominant media voices that many conservatives feel are increasingly biased or exclusionary. The platform provides access to live-streamed channels and a growing library of on-demand content, and it is being positioned as a digital hub for conservative voices around the world. From political talk shows and documentaries to cultural programming and news, Truth+ hopes to establish itself as the go-to source for those seeking content that reflects their worldview. The app's interface and distribution network have been built for broad accessibility, with support for major streaming devices and plans for further expansion on smart TVs like LG and Samsung as soon as final approvals are granted. Newsmax collaboration and expansion of Trump's conservative media empire At the heart of Truth+'s launch is its high-profile collaboration with Newsmax, which has quickly risen as a prominent voice in conservative broadcasting. Having gone public in March 2025, Newsmax is now positioned to expand its audience beyond the United States, using Truth+ as a springboard for international reach. CEO Chris Ruddy praised the move, calling the partnership with Trump Media a 'natural' evolution of conservative media and a timely response to global demand for alternative viewpoints. With Newsmax serving as a flagship content provider, Truth+ gains immediate credibility among Trump's supporters and conservative audiences. But this is just one part of a broader strategy. Trump Media is also developing a forthcoming fintech and financial services platform that aims to promote conservative investment strategies rooted in the 'America First' agenda. Together with Truth Social and Truth+, these initiatives form what appears to be a parallel conservative media and technology ecosystem, offering users aligned platforms for news, finance, and communication. Trump's renewed push into the media comes at a time when he remains a towering figure in American politics, post-2024 election, with Truth+ serving as a potential tool for amplifying his political messaging globally. As the platform continues its phased international rollout, with beta testing underway since late June, Trump Media plans to refine user experience based on feedback and further expand the platform's capabilities. With Truth+, Trump not only deepens his influence over right-leaning discourse but also signals his ambition to shape global narratives through conservative, 'non-woke' media alternatives—a goal that could have far-reaching effects on both politics and journalism in the years ahead.
