Cristiano Ronaldo may decide club future today, representative says in Hong Kong

Visiting to discuss the player's museum, set to open in the city in July, representative says announcement is imminent Cristiano Ronaldo could have his future signed and sealed within hours, his representative said in Hong Kong on Thursday, amid reports that the Portuguese was close to agreeing a contract extension with Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr. Speaking at a press conference about the player's CR7 Life Museum in Hong Kong, which will open in the K11 Musea shopping centre in Tsim Sha Tsui on July 7, Ronaldo's representative said an announcement was imminent. Asked whether the 40-year-old Ronaldo had made a decision about his future, with his Al-Nassr deal expiring at the end of this month, Tomas Froes said: 'It will be announced very soon, probably today.' The BBC has reported that the Portugal captain could extend his stint at Al-Nassr by two years. It came after Al-Nassr's Italian manager Stefano Pioli left the Saudi side on Wednesday. No reason was given by Al-Nassr, but Pioli, who took over last September after Luis Castro was dismissed over poor results, has been linked with a return to Italian club Fiorentina. Ronaldo paid tribute to his former manager on social media, writing 'thanks for everything'. Having joined Al-Nassr in 2023 after leaving Manchester United, Ronaldo has scored 99 goals in 111 appearances for the Saudi club, including 35 in 41 matches last season to earn the league's golden boot award. Japanese manga Chiikawa exhibition to be held in Hong Kong in August

An exhibition centred on the hugely popular Japanese manga series Chiikawa will be held in Hong Kong in the summer, with the event to include eight localised characters created in the form of dim sum such as har gow and siu mai as part of the city's latest efforts to cash in on the intellectual property economy. The exhibition's organiser, Hong Kong design studio AllRightsReserved, will sell tickets and distribute free ones for the three-week 'Chiikawa Days' show in August. The show will have indoor and outdoor elements in Tsim Sha Tsui and will be subject to stringent crowd control management. The show is part of efforts to encourage Hongkongers to remain in the city with their families over the summer, at a time when more residents are crossing the border for various holidays. It is the second summer in a row that the studio has hosted such an event, with last year seeing it hold a Doraemon show 'The city has the necessary talent and experience, supported by a robust legal framework. However, to successfully develop the IP economy, including hosting IP-related events, one crucial element is uniqueness and localisation,' AllRightsReserved founder Lam Shu-kam told the Post on Wednesday.
