Ops Samseng Jalanan: 11 motorcycles seized, 65 summonses issued in Petra Jaya

DOE enforcement officers inspect a motorcycle during the operation. KUCHING (July 21): A total of 11 motorcycles were seized and 65 summonses issued during the 'Ops Samseng Jalanan' integrated operation conducted last Saturday at Jalan Tun Abdul Rahman Yaakob, Jalan Astana, and Masja in Petra Jaya. Kuching district police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the operation aimed to crackdown on road bullies and ensure compliance with traffic laws and regulations. 'During the operation, 11 motorcycles were seized under Section 60 of the Road Transport Act 1987, as they were found to have been modified from their original structure and will undergo further inspection,' he said in a statement today. He added that Department of Environment (DOE) enforcement officers also inspected motorcycles emitting noise levels exceeding the permitted threshold, resulting in six riders being fined by the department. Alexson warned that such operations will continue, reminding road users to obey the law, refrain from engaging in street gangsterism, and refrain from illegally modifying their vehicles. He emphasised that careless driving or riding can poses a danger to other road users and could endanger one's own life. Alexson Naga Jabu lead Ops Sameng Jalanan petra jaya
