Bella Thorne claims Charlie Puth vilified her after she refused to sleep with him
In a recent Instagram post, American actor and singer Bella Thorne accused singer Charlie Puth of spreading falsehoods about their brief romantic involvement. The accusation surfaced on Friday, July 11, when Thorne commented on an Instagram post mentioning Little Mix singer Jade Thirlwall, who had expressed reluctance to collaborate with Puth aged 27, stated, "Yeah I mean, he lied to the entire world about me and started a hate train. All because I wouldn't . Do the deed with him (sic)," as per Thorne and Charlie Puth were briefly linked in December 2016, making headlines when they were seen together at the Jingle Ball in Miami. During the event, Puth serenaded Thorne on stage, fuelling rumours of a budding romance. The relationship, however, was short-lived. The fallout between the two escalated when Puth accused Thorne of infidelity on social media platform X. Puth, then 33, claimed that Thorne had not ended her relationship with Tyler Posey, known for his role in "Teen Wolf," before becoming involved with him. He expressed his disbelief saying, "I can't believe what I'm reading,' Puth wrote at the time. "No one should have their heart messed with like this, and I'm not going to be in the middle of it."In response to Puth's accusations, Thorne clarified her position on X. She stated that she was not dating either Puth or Posey and explained their casual connection. She wrote, "Ty and I have been broken up for like over two weeks and charlie and I ARENT DATING we are friends. That article was written forever ago." Thorne continued, "Charlie and I were hanging out.. he saw an old interview and got butthurt but instead of texting me and asking about it he put it on Twitter."Puth later apologised to Posey in a follow-up post, admitting he did not know Posey personally but felt he should not be treated poorly. He added that Thorne had assured him she was no longer with Posey, expressing, "I don't know Tyler personally, but I know he shouldn't be treated this way," he wrote, adding, "She told me she was not with him anymore. This is all news to me."Both Thorne and Puth have since moved on with their lives. Thorne is now engaged to Mark Emms, while Puth married Brooke Sansone in September 2024 after their long-standing friendship.- Ends

Indian gay men are marrying straight women, breaking hearts. Coming out is too risky
Last month, I got the whiplash of my life. Here was this cute little gay guy, queening it out to Ghoomar on his 'close friends' Instagram Story, and the next thing I know, he's posting engagement photos, calling some clueless woman the love of his life. Meanwhile, the actual love of his life is posting broken hearts and ghazals. One would think the full-blown, Sanjay Leela Bhansali-style weddings and elaborate sangeet numbers would be a dead giveaway, but that's wilful blindness for you. Indian parents will do anything but admit their son is queer. As if straight Gen Zs marrying each other left, right, and centre wasn't a plague of its own, a more sinister scenario is unfolding now. Young gays are marrying straight women. And you thought beards had gone out of fashion. A 30-something gay man from Malegaon married a woman after a six-month-long engagement. During this time, he went on his last trip(s) with his lover(s) and bid a final farewell to the ones more prone to bouts of shayari. In the photo I saw from his wedding, he was posing with about eight gay and bi men, over half of them his not-so-platonic gym bros. Some of them were married to women themselves. It's a brotherhood of guileful gays. A guy from Kanpur found out his gay ex had married a woman—from the ex's bisexual older brother, who also happened to be his date. Eventually, the brother got married too. It's one big dollhouse, and everyone gets their own closet. This week, the US celebrated the 10th anniversary of same-sex marriage being legalised. It's been seven years since Section 377 was struck down in India. And while Netflix's #diverse storylines have probably rid some straight people of homophobia in these years, they haven't been able to rid the shame from Indian gay men. I used to think this only happened with uncles and grandpas. I'd see these silver sloths on Grindr, proudly displaying 'married' on their profiles, and tell myself that they belonged to an older India, untouched by YouTube or Twitter. One could understand how they'd find themselves trapped in unhappy marriages with wives who tried one beauty hack after another to make it work. Turns out, I was wrong. Young gays from Pune and Nashik, who wept watching Brokeback Mountain (2005) and Call Me By Your Name (2017), are repeating the plotlines, walking the pheras with wild abandon. One day, they're doing the entire Maar Dala routine in the club, and the next, they're ready to play Dr Nene. My ex, who enjoys playing the devil's advocate far too much, wanted to complicate the conversation. It's not so simple as gays being spineless, he said. Often, when it comes to marriage and family, even men don't have a choice. Coming out is too great a risk—sometimes, a matter of life and death. But my ex wasn't there when I had a life-changing conversation with a dear friend years ago. When she found that I was Tindering with a guy who was perhaps a little married, she questioned my entire moral system. 'As it is, women are dealt a horrible hand in marriage,' she said. 'And to think, queer men add to it too… Isn't that depressing?' It is. After that, any guy over the age of 28 I met on dating apps or otherwise had to be screened for a ring or relationship. I was surprised at how many tried to evade the question or got outright defensive. What's a woman where male privilege is at stake? That's why I find Badhaai Do (2022) so unrealistic. No gay man would go through the ordeal of finding a lesbian to marry when the alternative is much simpler: lying through his teeth. Also read: India's queer politics isn't about Right vs Left. It's a matter of privilege Play the man card What should these gay men do? Tell their families they're samlaingik and give their parents a heart attack? I'd say a cardiologist is far less expensive than a wedding. It's not that difficult a conversation, either, if you play your cards right. One has to start small. And don't choose the 'marriage is a failed institution' route; they've heard it far too often and will ignore it as one of the fancies of the young. Instead, mention in passing that you might marry someone from another caste. When that shock subsides, bring religion to the table. When you eventually tell them you like men, they'll probably be more relieved than outraged. Do I truly believe it's that easy? Of course not. But you don't know how many things you can get away with just by virtue of being a man. In a weird turn of events, the picture is changing. The younger gays, ones not jaded from the grand failure of the dating app experiment, are finding IRL romance and dreaming of marrying their boyfriends. Their love is strictly monogamous, highly sanitised, and almost holy. Straight women may be out of the picture, but hetero norms seem to be stronger than ever. Baby steps, I guess? Views are personal. (Edited by Ratan Priya)

Donald Trump's phone lock screen photo was leaked; netizens spot uncanny 9/11 link
President Donald Trump's phone lock screen was recently captured by a Reuters photographer, and the image has sparked several theories. The 78-year-old's lock screen features a photo of himself pointing a finger. While some social media users mocked Trump for being 'narcissistic', others came up with '9/11' links. 'Trump's lock screen was spotted on his phone last night—and it was a photo of himself. Is that not one of the most narcissistic, self-absorbed things you've ever seen??? Not his family, not his kids, but himself,' one person wrote on X, platform formerly known as Twitter. 'Reuters took an HD photo of the lock screen of President Trump's iPhone last night. It's a picture of himself. No president has more aura than President Trump,' another one tweeted, supporting the president. The September 11, 2001 (9/11) link comes from the time displayed on Donald Trump's phone when the photo was captured. 'Reuters took photo of lock screen of President Trump's iPhone Don't like the time it shows: 9:11 Reminds me of Trump's Butler, PA rally/assassination attempt, the only time CNN attended a Trump rally that year & how convenient, a NYT award winning photographer was also present,' one person noted on X. 'does this mean trump is going to release the 9/11 files,' another social media user asked. Neither Trump nor the White House has responded to the reactions on the former's phone lock screen. Meanwhile, Trump said on Friday he planned to increase tariffs on imported steel and aluminum to 50% from 25%. "We are going to be imposing a 25% increase. We're going to bring it from 25% to 50% - the tariffs on steel into the United States of America, which will even further secure the steel industry in the United States," he said at a rally in Pennsylvania. Canada's Chamber of Commerce quickly denounced the tariff hike as "antithetical to North American economic security." "Unwinding the efficient, competitive and reliable cross-border supply chains like we have in steel and aluminum comes at a great cost to both countries," Candace Laing, president of the chamber, said in a statement.

Prayers Are Pouring In For Pat McAfee On Thursday
This is devastating.. Jim had friendships with a lot of his former players.. I was lucky to be one of them. Playing for a team that Mr Irsay ran was an honor. He was funny, brilliant, unique, and somehow still wildly relatable for a man who became the sole owner of an NFL team at the age of 37.. and before that, hired as the youngest general manager in the history of the league as a 24 year old. He battled his demons, as we all do but, God blessed Jim Irsay with an abundance of compassion.. he wanted to give back/help everybody and everything he saw or knew about… putting a list together of all of the causes/things/people that he's given to would be an impossible task.. probably well over $100,000,000.. there was even a whale about to get an assist from Jim at one point. The 1st time he and I really had an extended convo was at training camp after the lockout in 2011.. players and front office weren't allowed to communicate with each other during the lockout but, Jim followed me on Twitter throughout the CBA negotiations.. his first day at training camp, immediately after the lockout ended, he drove his golf cart over to where I was and started firing off questions about Twitter.. He enjoyed the thought of being able to connect with Colts fans all over the world.. he appreciated the opportunity to be able to share some of his thoughts in his own way.. and he absolutely LOVED the idea of being able to give money/experiences/tickets/etc. away to people on Twitter. He was a mogul who had a creative artist's brain.. Everything he did he wanted to do in a big and imaginative way.. his Twitter Giveaways became just that.. he wanted them to be awesome... and they were. He was a Billionaire who yearned to share his wealth in fun ways. Anybody that met him would say that he seemingly woke up everyday wanting to help people.. life got in the way sometimes but, anybody who actually knew him, loved him. A true anomaly. When I decided to retire.. he and I had a 2.5 hour conversation in his office. He was sitting at his desk.. hitting the shit out of his vape .. and we talked about everything I was hoping to go do. He tried to stop me for a few minutes.. even offered to renegotiate my contract.. and then once he realized my decision was made.. the convo turned into him trying to give me as much game as possible about running a business and maintaining authenticity. He gave me quotes and words to live by.. told me stories of mistakes he and others had made and he promised he would do anything he could to help me in my venture. 'If for some reason this doesn't work or you don't want to do it anymore, you'll always have a job here at the Colts. You are family.' Since that day.. Jim has done everything he can to help me succeed.. He'd join our show anytime I asked, no matter where he was in the world.. He'd send me motivational messages when he heard I was going thru something.. he'd forward articles that he'd come across that he thought I should read.. He'd answer any question I had about decisions I had to make.. and he even offered up his connections if I wanted to 'buy that lovely wife of yours something nice brother' Jim was a real one.. and we will all miss the shit out of him. I send my positive prayers and vibes to his daughters, his grandkids, his loved ones, his staff, and everybody who has been working with Jim for the last 40 years. Thank you for EVERYTHING big man.. You were a damn legend. Rest Easy, brother.

'Mogul who had a creative artist's brain': Pat McAfee reacts to death of Colts owner Jim Irsay
Former Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee called the death of team owner Jim Irsay "devastating" in a social media post Wednesday night, relating details of their relationship during and after his playing days. McAfee said Irsay followed him on social media during a work stoppage and approached him afterward, asking about the possibilities of connecting with fans. "... Jim followed me on Twitter throughout the CBA negotiations.. his first day at training camp, immediately after the lockout ended, he drove his golf cart over to where I was and started firing off questions about Twitter.. He enjoyed the thought of being able to connect with Colts fans all over the world.. he appreciated the opportunity to be able to share some of his thoughts in his own way.. and he absolutely LOVED the idea of being able to give money/experiences/tickets/etc. away to people on Twitter." McAfee also related about his retirement and Irsay's attempts to change his mind. Irsay soon realized he couldn't talk McAfee out of it, and immediately offered to help McAfee in any way possible. "When I decided to retire.. he and I had a 2.5 hour conversation in his office. He was sitting at his desk.. hitting the shit out of his vape .. and we talked about everything I was hoping to go do. "He tried to stop me for a few minutes.. even offered to renegotiate my contract.. and then once he realized my decision was made.. the convo turned into him trying to give me as much game as possible about running a business and maintaining authenticity.
