A team from Bihar will probe chemical factory blast in Telangana: Minister
Patna, July 1 (UNI) Taking serious note of the recent chemical factory explosion in the industrial area of Sangareddy district, Telangana, which claimed the lives of two workers from Bihar and left 16 others injured, the Bihar government has constituted a special team to examine the circumstances surrounding the blast. Bihar Labour Resources Minister Santosh Kumar Singh told media here today that a special investigation team constituted by the Bihar government will soon arrive in Telangana to examine the situation causing the explosion. Singh said this marks the first time that a state government is sending an investigation team to another state following the death of migrant workers in an industrial accident. The team will include experts and will thoroughly examine whether the explosion was the result of gross negligence on the part of the factory management. 'If any major negligence is found, it will be raised before both the Telangana government and the Centre,' said Singh. The minister added that the Bihar government has announced an ex gratia compensation of Rs 4 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each to the 16 injured workers. The mortal remains of the deceased were expected to reach Patna by this evening and will be transported to their native villages with state assistance, he said. Singh also congratulated Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on the cabinet's approval of the Mukhyamantri Pratigya Yojana. He stated that Bihar has become the first state in India to take such a progressive step to boost employment opportunities for its youth. He highlighted that the lack of work experience has been a major hurdle for Bihari youth in securing jobs in other states. Under the new scheme, 1.05 lakh youths will be connected to internship programs over the next five years. The state government has allocated Rs 685 crore for the implementation of the initiative. Bihar govt to run 299 AC and non-AC buses on interstate routes: Nitish
Patna, June 26 (UNI) In order to facilitate travel and for convenience of the people coming to Bihar, the state government has decided to operate 299 AC and non-AC buses on the interstate routes connected to Bihar. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, through a social media post on his account X, said here today that a large number of people from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and West Bengal visit their state on the occasion of various festivals, especially Chhath, Holi, Deepawali and Durga Puja. In view of their difficulties in coming to Bihar on the occasion of festivals, the state government was making efforts constantly for their safe and smooth journey, Kumar said, adding that the state government will operate 299 AC and non-AC buses on the interstate routes. Kumar said that the cabinet has already given its nod and the state government would spend Rs 105.82 crore on the purchase of 75 air-conditioned and 74 deluxe buses. Along with this, 150 additional AC buses will also be operated under public private partnership, he said. The CM also requested the Centre to run more special trains on the occasion of festivals, especially Chhath, Holi, Diwali and Durga Puja so that the people can conveniently reach their home during festivals. Emergency a black day in the history of independent India: Nitish
Patna, June 25 (UNI) Describing the imposition of Emergency in the country as a symbol of the dictatorship of the then government, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that the day, June 25, 1975, is called a black day in the history of independent India. Kumar posted on his social media account X that Emergency was imposed by the then Congress government. He said freedom of expression was banned during the Emergency, he said, adding that it was Loknayak Jaiprakash Narayan, popular as JP, who stood against the dictatorial decision and began a movement against the Emergency. Kumar said he, too, participated in the movement along with several of his colleagues and actively opposed the Emergency. Kumar said he along with others were put in the jail for raising voice against dictatorship. He said the people of the country remained united against the Emergency and showed courage. Describing the people's voice as the core of democracy, Kumar said protecting it in every situation was the major responsibility of the leaders and activists. Protecting the spirit of the Constitution, Bihar has always made social justice as the path of its development. Nitish inaugurates elevated road project
Patna, June 16 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar dedicated Bhoopatipur-Punpun elevated road of the Mithapur-Mahuli-Punpun project constructed at an expenditure of Rs 1105 crore. After inaugurating the road here on Monday, Kumar said that the long Sipara-Mahuli stretch will be covered within 6 minutes. Kumar inspected the road and said that the people can reach Patna from Punpun quicker. People can also easily travel to Gayaji, Jahanabad, Arwal, Aurangabad, Rajgir and various other districts of south Bihar. The elevated road would also solve the traffic jam problems, he said. Addressing the people in Punpun, Kumar said his government has launched several projects for development of the area and promised to take up the measures for further development of the region. The Chief Minister directed the authorities to quickly complete the rest of the construction work of Mithapur-Mahuli elevated road from Sipara to Mithapur flyover. UNI RS PRS

Rs 20.72 cr for construction of dharamshalas in Bihar's Sultanganj
Patna, May 23 (UNI) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said that for the convenience of lakhs of devotees who fetch holy water from Namami Gange Ghat in Sultanganj of Bhagalpur district to offer it to Vaidyanath Dham (Deoghar), two multi-storey dharamshalas will be constructed in Sultanganj at an expenditure of more than Rs 20.72 crore. Chaudhary said on Friday that one of these Dharamshalas will be for the general public and the other for VIPs. He said that some rooms in the VIP Dharamshala will also be available for the general public. More than 1.5 lakh devotees visit Sultanganj every day during the holy month of Shrawan . The construction of two multi-storey dharamshalas will provide facilities to these devotees. The Deputy Chief Minister said that Rs. 11 crore 87 lakh 6824 gas been approved for the construction of Janta Dharamshala near Namami Gange Ghat under Municipal Council, Sultanganj area and Rs. 8 crore 85 lakh 3655 for a super special Dharamshala. He said that construction of dharamshalas will promote religious tourism and provide employment at the local level. UNI RS PRS
