CM to launch integrated mfg, logistics cluster project to boost growth

1 2 Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday will inaugurate 27 nodes under the Uttar Pradesh Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Cluster– an initiative of the UP Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) to boost economic development along the highways. An official spokesperson said on Wednesday the integrated approach is expected to accelerate industrial growth, create large-scale employment opportunities and drive balanced regional development across UP. "It will ultimately propel Uttar Pradesh towards its one trillion economy target and achieving industrial self-reliance," the official said. "These nodes, strategically located along major expressways, are not only a dream project of CM Yogi but also hold immense strategic significance. While they will serve as dedicated corridors for manufacturing, they will also host logistics hubs to facilitate seamless movement of goods via road, rail, and air," said the official. They also said the efforts, implemented in collaboration with the central govt, align with Uttar Pradesh's strategy to develop each expressway-linked node into an economic growth engine. "By attracting investments, creating jobs, and promoting regional specialisation, the Yogi govt is setting the foundation for an industrially robust and economically empowered Uttar Pradesh," the official said.

Ban On Buying And Selling Of Land Around Noida-Ganga Link Expressway, 56 Villages Affected

Last Updated: UPEIDA banned land transactions along the proposed 74.3 km expressway linking Noida Airport to the Ganga Expressway, impacting 56 villages and boosting western UP connectivity In a major move to facilitate rapid infrastructure development around the Noida International Airport, the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Corridor Development Authority (UPEIDA) has imposed a complete ban on land purchase and sale along the alignment of the proposed 74.3-kilometre-long expressway that will link the upcoming airport to the Ganga Expressway. The directive, issued by UPEIDA, comes as groundwork intensifies for the high-speed corridor, which is also designed to connect the Ganga Expressway with the Yamuna Expressway, effectively knitting together three of the state's most ambitious transport projects. Officials have warned of strict action against individuals or entities found violating the order. The Ganga Expressway itself is a Rs 4,000 crore mega-project set to connect Meerut to Prayagraj. The new link expressway, beginning from the Syana region of Bulandshahr and culminating near Sector 21's Film City on the Yamuna Expressway, is being positioned as a critical stretch for enhancing multimodal logistics and passenger connectivity in western Uttar Pradesh. In response to UPEIDA's order, district administrations in Noida and Bulandshahr have initiated surveys to identify plots falling under the notified zone. Officials are mapping affected areas and marking impacted land parcels for acquisition or regulation. 56 Villages To Be Affected By Route Realignment According to reports, the total width of the new expressway corridor will be 120 metres. In a bid to avoid disturbing existing developed zones in Yamuna City, the route has been strategically altered. As a result, the expressway will now pass through 56 villages, 8 of which lie in Noida district, with the remaining 48 situated in Bulandshahr. The alignment traverses key rural settlements such as Mehndipur Bangar, Bhaiyapur Brahmanan, Rabupura, and Myana in the Noida region. In Khurja tehsil, villages including Amanullahpur, Kapna, and Bhagwanpur will also be impacted. Several panchayats in Syana and Shikarpur tehsils are similarly expected to fall within the expressway's ambit. Industrial, Airport Connectivity Set To Surge Officials from the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) have hailed the project as a cornerstone for the region's economic transformation. They say the expressway will act as a vital artery for boosting freight movement, particularly between the Noida airport and key industrial hubs in Yamuna City such as sectors 28, 29, 32, and 33. With this route, connectivity between Delhi, Agra, Mumbai, and Prayagraj will improve significantly, a senior YEIDA official told The Indian Express, adding that it will not only ease passenger travel but also strengthen logistics across western UP. There is also growing momentum behind the idea of linking the new expressway with National Highway 34 (NH-34), although officials say a concrete blueprint for this connection is still in the works. The sweeping infrastructure push comes on the heels of other major road developments across the state. Just recently, a new 66-kilometre stretch was added to the Delhi-Jaipur route, cutting travel time by nearly an hour and affecting 56 villages along its path. Land along Ganga e-way, airport link can't be sold in Noida

Noida: There will be no land deals along a proposed route connecting under-construction Noida International Airport (NIA) with Ganga Expressway. Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) officials have warned that "any violation could lead to strict administrative action". UPEIDA has finalised the alignment for a 74.3km-long greenfield link expressway that will directly connect NIA in Jewar with the ambitious Ganga Expressway. To curb speculative land deals and keep the project on schedule, UPEIDA has ordered a complete halt on the sale and purchase of notified land along the proposed route. Estimated at Rs 4,000 crore, the link expressway project aims to create a seamless high-speed corridor connecting the Ganga with Yamuna expressways. The Ganga Expressway, currently under construction from Meerut to Prayagraj, is one of the longest expressways in India, designed to transform travel across Uttar Pradesh. "The new expressway is expected to transform regional connectivity, making travel to Agra, Delhi, Mumbai and Prayagraj faster and smoother, while driving industrial development in the surrounding areas," a senior YEIDA official said. This 120m wide expressway will start from the Siyana area in Bulandshahr and connect with the Yamuna Expressway near Film City in Sector 21. Initially planned at 83km, the route was realigned to avoid cutting through Yamuna City's developed sectors. The link expressway will pass through 56 villages, including eight in Gautam Budh Nagar and 48 in Bulandshahr district, covering areas like Khurja, Bulandshahr, Syana and Shikarpur tehsils. Key villages include Mehndipur Bangar, Bhaipur Brahmanan, Rabupura and Myana in Jewar tehsil, as well as Amanullahpur, Kapna, Bhagwanpur and others in Khurja tehsil and several villages in Bulandshahr and Syana tehsils. Once operational, the link expressway will provide direct connectivity from the Noida International Airport to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, Agra via Yamuna Expressway and further up to Prayagraj through the Ganga Expressway. This will not only ease traffic on existing routes but also enhance passenger and cargo movement, boosting the region's position as an industrial and logistics hub. The alignment has been designed to connect directly with Yamuna City's industrial sectors 28, 29, 32 and 33, making cargo transport to and from the airport more efficient. Authorities are also exploring a potential link to NH34 though no concrete plan has been prepared yet.

Van Mahotsav: UP to plant over 35cr saplings in July first week

Lucknow: In a major push to enhance green cover across Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Adityanath govt is set to launch a state-wide plantation drive from July 1-7 as part of Van Mahotsav. The campaign aims to plant 35 crore saplings during the 2025 monsoon season, with 1.14 crore to be planted specifically along roadside stretches by the forest department. To ensure the success of this massive effort, over 52.43 crore saplings have been prepared across 2,586 nurseries spanning forest, horticulture, sericulture, and private sectors. The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) will also join the drive by planting 2.5 lakh saplings along five major expressways, with the Bundelkhand Expressway accounting for the highest share of 1.2 lakh saplings. Mission director of the plantation campaign 2025, Deepak Kumar, said the initiative reflects Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's vision of a greener and sustainable Uttar Pradesh. "All preparations are complete, and we are ready to execute the largest plantation campaign in the country," he said. The coordinated drive will involve multiple govt departments and agencies working in tandem to improve ecological balance, reduce pollution, and contribute to climate resilience. Officials said the campaign would not only beautify roadsides and highways but also engage local communities in long-term environmental stewardship.

UPEIDA starts process to get environmental compliance reports every 6 months

The Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has introduced a system to prepare environmental compliance reports every six months by laboratories accredited under the Environmental Protection Act and certified by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL). The accredited labs will not only monitor environmental parameters, but also prepare reports in the prescribed format and upload them online to ensure transparency and promote sustainable industrial development. The initiative has been implemented for projects under the Defence Industrial Corridor and the Industrial Manufacturing and Logistics Cluster (IMLC). According to UPEIDA, the process will soon begin at sites that have received environmental clearances. The move will ensure adherence to environmental norms, while also boosting investor confidence in the state's commitment to responsible development. UPEIDA has received environmental clearance in the districts of Aligarh, Kanpur Nagar, Lucknow, Chitrakoot, and Jhansi, where land acquisition and development work for the Defence Industrial Corridor is currently underway. From now on, environmental parameters in these areas will be regularly monitored. Every six months, the accredited labs will conduct sampling, field inspections, and collect inputs from officials concerned to prepare detailed compliance reports. The report will contain details of the status of major environmental components such as air, water, noise and soil. The reports will also be submitted online to the authorities responsible for environmental clearance, including the State Level Environmental Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) and the Union Ministry of Environment. Meanwhile, the environmental clearance for Agra and Unnao is in its final stages. Once approved, development work will begin as well in these districts, it is learnt. The government said the system adopted by UPEIDA is set to become a model for industries being developed under the Industrial Corridor across the state. This step will play a key role in positioning the state as an environmentally responsible industrial hub, while simultaneously boosting employment, investment, and economic activity, it added.
