Union Pledge Day happens on July 18. It's the second time the national occasion is observed since HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, announced the new national occasion to honour the historic events leading to the UAE's establishment last year. The declaration commemorates the pivotal day in 1971 when the Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, alongside his brothers, signed the declaration of the Union and the UAE Constitution, officially naming the country the United Arab Emirates.
