Universal Just Announced "Terrifier" Is Coming To HHN
Well, fellow Horror Nights fans, I have some exciting news for those who celebrate. Universal just announced that a Terrifier haunted house is coming to both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort as part of this year's Halloween Horror Nights, and I ALREADY KNOW it's going to be gory AF. According to Universal, "Guests will experience an unfathomable level of gore as they try to escape becoming Art the Clown's next victim." And here's a tease of what you can expect... The Terrifier maze will take you into Art the Clown's gruesome Funhouse, straight out of Terrifier 2. As you make your way through the claustrophobic corridors, you'll encounter familiar (and horrifying) faces, including Vicky... ...and the Little Pale Girl... ...as well as iconic kills from the franchise. All, of course, while being overwhelmed by horrific sights, sounds, and even SMELLS. You'll then make your way to the Clown Café, where you'll encounter a revolting bathroom... ...and, finally, a ~deadly~ Christmas nightmare. All I have to say is, "It's Artin' Time!" The torment kicks off at Universal Orlando Resort on Friday, August 29 and at Universal Studios Hollywood on Thursday, September 4. you love SCARY stuff? I Tried All The "Back To The Future" Food At Universal Studios
Hello, friends, I'm Crystal, and I'm a big fan of Back to the Future, as well as trying wild, interesting, and new foods at theme parks. So, when I found out Universal Studios Hollywood currently has an entire menu of Back to the Future-themed food, I is heavy! Now, some of the BTTF food was actually introduced during Universal's Fan Fest Nights. But the good news for anyone who couldn't make it to that limited event is that it's still available (with some NEW additions) as part of Universal's Mega Movie Summer! Mega Movie Summer is basically Universal's celebration of some of their biggest properties, like Back to the Future, as well as Jurassic World, How to Train Your Dragon, Wicked, and also Jaws, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary! The celebration is going on now and continues daily through Sunday, August 10, and is all included in the regular price of admission. (It is NOT a separate ticket/event!) Here's a look at the entire Back to the Future menu, which is available at Mel's Diner in the park: Note: Some of the items on the menu are the "normal" Mel's Diner fare, so if you're looking for a regular ol' chili dog, they've got that, too! Here's what I thought... Flux Capacitor Patty Melt Things started off really strong with the patty melt. I've never met a patty melt I didn't like, and this one is no exception. Do not be fooled by my unimpressive photo above! All the grilled aspects — the buttery bread, the onions, and the patty itself — were perfectly cooked. And I have to give them props for "branding" the top of the bun with a little Flux Capacitor logo, even if it was a LITTLE tough to make out, lol. I appreciate fun decorative details! 9.5/10 Doc Brown's Chicken Pot Pie I'm actually really torn between this and the patty melt being my favorite dish. First of all, I love that it's kind of a joke/nod to the "Doc Brown's Chicken" restaurant that used to exist at Universal Studios. (Why would Doc Brown have a chicken restaurant?! The world may never know.) Next, the cheesy crumbles on top of the pot pie were a deliciously savory surprise, plus I loved that it was in the form of a radioactive/plutonium logo (more fun details!). Finally, the chicken pot pie itself was perfect. It had a nice, flaky, buttery top, succulent chicken, and savory fillings. What's not to like?! If I have one tiny complaint, it's that this dish is a little small for the price (considering it's almost the same price as the melts, which come with fries on the side). So, this probably isn't the best bang for your buck. BUT, if you love a good pot pie, this one is worth it. 9/10 Time Machine Pastrami Melt Unsurprisingly, the pastrami melt was also super yummy. It had all the right elements — juicy pastrami meat, crunchy slaw, tangy Swiss cheese, and perfectly grilled bread. But if I had to pick between the melts, I'd go with the patty one ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Much like the other details, the cute "88 mph" toothpick it came with was a fun touch! 8/10 Flux Capacitor (Drink) This entertaining drink (which is non-alcoholic) comes with Sprite, passionfruit, and blue Curaçao syrup, and is very refreshing! But the REAL winner is the fact that it's served with dry ice, which makes it look like something Doc Brown would concoct in his lab. 7/10Note: There's also a "Wake Up Juice" cocktail on the menu, but because I'm not currently drinking alcohol, I didn't try it. But it looks great also (and, of course, LOVE the name)! FYI, this one makes for a great video! Time Traveler's Milk Shake This milkshake was...A LOT. Like, it's super sweet. Despite the cute blue coloring, I was surprised the flavor was simply vanilla, but specifically like vanilla cupcake frosting flavor. So, if that's your jam, you will LOVE this. But, if you're not really into sweets, I'd prob give this a skip! 6/10 Finally, the Outatime Cookie As far as cookies go, this isn't the GREATEST cookie I've ever had. It's basically a hard sugar cookie, and the frosting doesn't have a particular taste-wise, not exactly noteworthy. BUT, let's be real, if you're getting this cookie, it's because it looks cool AF. And I reallllly love the design. 8/10 As I mentioned, this special Back to the Future menu is available at Universal Studios Hollywood as part of their Mega Movie Summer! And, FYI, if BTTF isn't your ~thing~, there's also fun food themed around Jaws, Jurassic World, and How to Train Your Dragon available throughout the park. Oh, and be SURE to get a pic with the iconic GIANT SHARK from Jaws that's been reintroduced to the theme park for Mega Movie Summer! (Maybe you remember it from your childhood?!). Obsessed. And if you're lucky, you might get a chance to meet Captain Quint and Chief Brody, who are making their theme park debut! Universal Mega Movie Summer is going on NOW through Sunday, August 10, and you can get your tickets at

I lived in the US for 3 months – the 12 bizarre things I noticed as a Brit from drive-through weddings to VIP service
AFTER spending three months in the States, I came home with a suitcase full of souvenirs, sugary cereal, and a whole load of culture shock. I had been living in Santa Rosa, 12 A trip to Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood - there was plenty to do on the weekends in California Credit: Jenna Stevens Back when I boarded my 11 hour flight from It was my first trip to the states - and whilst I knew that After a summer of settling in, there was loads that left me baffled and bursting to tell people back home my weird encounters. Here's the 12 strangest things I noticed from my time in Read more on US Toilet door gaps One thing I just couldn't get over was the giant gaps in public toilet cubicles. I'm talking wide open spaces above and below the Sometimes the gaps were so big you could see someone's shoes, shins, and even their knees through the stall. Going to the loo in a public place felt less like a private moment and more like a public stage. Most read in News Travel 12 Saloon style doors for toilets? And if you decide to 'supersize' anything, best of luck. At least you'll have your dinners for the entire week ahead sorted. Insane public parks When I think of a In California, a walk in the park would have you stumbling across In America, the local park isn't just for walking your dog - it can be an entire day out for the whole family. 12 Picnics in the park were my favourite way to spend a day off Credit: Jenna Stevens Needing a car to cross the road Here in the UK, pretty much everywhere is walkable. In the US? Not so much. I quickly learned that American cities just aren't built for pedestrians. Pavements are rare, crossings are few, and ' But things got pretty ridiculous one day when my friends and I had to order an Uber just to cross the road to McDonald's. Tipping culture madness We all know that I knew heading over to America that if I go out to eat, I should But what I didn't expect was that tipping culture doesn't just apply to restaurants. Taxi drivers, baristas, bartenders, hairdressers, even bus drivers - I soon found out that everyone expects you to leave a tip. As a Brit, I couldn't bear the thought of coming off as rude. So I kept forking over my dollars. So if you're planning a trip to the states - be sure to budget your tips for more than just meals! 12 I really didn't expect to have to tip for my coffee Credit: Getty Over-the-top customer service Walking into any American restaurant, I felt like a VIP. Hospitality is taken to the next level in America - before you've even sat down, you know your waiter's name and your drink is on the way. Sometimes the servers were so friendly that it actually creeped me out a bit. There's only so many times someone can ask "is everything perfect for you?" with a big grin on their face before you start to get a little weirded out. Nonetheless, it's hard to complain when you feel like you're being treated like royalty every time you order a burger. Everyone's your best friend Us Brits are known for our small talk and for being stand-offish. An American stranger will strike up a conversation with you in a lift like they've known you for years. People chatted to me in shops, queues, streets, even out on a run. Americans really are just that friendly - once you get over the initial "are they talking to me?", it's actually quite refreshing. Drive-through everything In America, if there's a way to do something without getting out of the car, they've made it possible. Drive-thrus aren't just for fast food anymore - it's coffee, pharmacies, banks and even weddings. It's all about convenience - something Americans have mastered the art of. It all seems a bit over-the-top at first, but when you actually find yourself in a hurry, those drive-thru cash machines can be a life-saver. 12 I knew fast food drive-thrus were popular, but my mind was blown when I saw a drive-thru pharmacy Credit: Getty 12 Yes - drive-thru weddings are a real thing in Las Vegas Credit: Getty Overly-customised coffee Ordering Head to somewhere like Dunkin , and it's a whole different ball game. These coffees often looked and tasted more like Leave the British-isms at home You probably wouldn't expect to read this on a list about travels in America, but brace yourself for the language barrier.
