SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A Syracuse man has died after being shot earlier today. Around 6 p.m., Syracuse Police officers responded to the 200 Block of Westmoreland Avenue for a report of a shooting with injuries. When they arrived, officers found a 22-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Upstate Hospital where he later died. Auburn police chief Matthew Androsko confirming to NewsChannel 9 the assault caused one person to be taken to Upstate Hospital. Just before 4:30p.m., the Auburn Police Department took to social media to tell the community to avoid the Washington Street area near West Street and Wall Street. ShotSpotter detects shooting in Syracuse, man shot in the back

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A 24-year-old man was shot in the back in Syracuse early in the morning on Saturday, May 31. Just before 1 a.m., Syracuse Police officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation for multiple rounds on the 1100 block of South Townsend Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered multiple shell casings in the area. While units were responding to this scene, officers were made aware that a shooting victim had arrived at the emergency room at Upstate Hospital. The victim being treated was a 24-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his back. He is listed in stable condition and is expected to survive. Police believe the 24-year-old was shot at the 1100 block of South Townsend Street. Pick-up truck crashes into motorcycle after running red light

TOWN OF SALINA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The passenger riding on a motorcycle was thrown off the bike after being hit by a pickup truck. According to New York State Police, just before 3 p.m. on May 30, Rickey Belcamino was driving south on Factory Avenue in his pickup truck when he ran a red light and struck a motorcycle driving on Lemoyne Avenue. The passenger on the motorcycle was ejected and hit a parked SUV. She was unconscious and taken to Upstate Hospital by ambulance. No one else involved in the crash was hurt.
