New Delhi: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will be on a visit to Uttarakhand on Saturday, where he will serve as the chief guest at the Uttarakhand Investment Festival and Global Investors Summit Grounding Ceremony. The high-profile event is scheduled to take place at 1:15 P.M. at Manoj Sarkar Stadium in Rudrapur and is being seen as a major milestone in Uttarakhand's journey towards industrial growth and economic development. The event marks the next phase of implementation following the success of the Global Investors Summit held earlier. Major industrialists, business leaders, and representatives from newly-established industries across various sectors are expected to be present at the ceremony. The participation of HM Shah underscores the central government's focus on boosting investments and strengthening economic infrastructure in the Himalayan state. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will also be present at the event alongside other senior officials and dignitaries. CM Dhami emphasised that the state government is now translating the MoUs signed during the Global Investors Summit into action on the ground. 'We are committed to turning investment promises into real projects. These efforts are already creating new employment opportunities for the youth of Uttarakhand,' he said. According to the Chief Minister, the state government is providing full support to investors, including fast-tracking approvals, ensuring necessary infrastructure, and maintaining a peaceful, industry-friendly environment. He added that Uttarakhand is rapidly emerging as a preferred destination for industries due to its stable governance, skilled workforce, and natural advantages. The objective of Saturday's event is not only to mark the beginning of key industrial projects but also to send a strong message to national and global investors that Uttarakhand is ready for business. Alongside the grounding ceremony, the inauguration and foundation stone laying for several development works will also take place, aimed at strengthening the state's economic and civic infrastructure.

"On the basis of these MoUs, an investment of Rs 1 lakh crore has been realised in the state so far," Dhami said at Rudrapur where he came to review the preparations for the investment festival. This is also creating new employment opportunities in Uttarakhand . We are providing all possible assistance to set up industries. During the Global Investor Summit, 157 MoUs (memorandums of understanding) worth Rs 1,03,459 crore were signed in the energy sector, out of which an investment of Rs 40,341 crore has been realised, according to an official release. In the industrial sector, out of 658 MoUs worth Rs 78,448 crore, an investment of Rs 34,086 crore has been realised. The housing sector, which saw 125 MoUs worth Rs 41,947 crore, an investment of Rs 10,055 crore has been realised, it said. Similarly, in the tourism sector, an investment of Rs 8,635 crore has come in out of the total 437 MoUs worth Rs 47,646 crore, The higher education sector has received an investment of Rs 5,116 crore out of 28 MoUs worth Rs 6,675 crore, while an investment of Rs 3,292 crore has landed in other sectors out of the total 374 agreements worth Rs 79,518 crore, the release said.

Request to include power infrastructure under NDRF/SDRF compensation Proposal of ₹150.16 crore for the expansion of Sitarganj Central Jail 'Uttarakhand Investment Festival' to be organized in Pantnagar-Rudrapur industrial area Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami met Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah in New Delhi and discussed various key issues related to the holistic development of the state. In view of the growing challenges in the field of cyber security, the Chief Minister requested the Union Home Minister to approve a fund of ₹63.60 crore for establishing a 'Cyber Centre of Excellence' in Dehradun. This centre will play a vital role in preventing digital crimes, providing expert training, advancing cyber forensics, and developing modern resources. The Chief Minister also apprised the Union Home Minister of the damage caused to the state's power infrastructure due to natural disasters. Considering the geographical challenges of small Himalayan states, he requested that power generation, transmission, and distribution assets be brought under the compensation framework of the NDRF/SDRF. This would further strengthen and enhance the effectiveness of the state's disaster management system. The Chief Minister also sought prompt approval for the ₹150.16 crore proposal to expand the Sitarganj Central Jail. Referring to the successful 'Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit 2023' held under the inspiration of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister informed that investment MoUs worth more than ₹3.50 lakh crore were signed. Terming this achievement a matter of pride for the state, he told the Union Home Minister that a celebration in the form of an 'Uttarakhand Investment Festival' is proposed to be organized in the Pantnagar-Rudrapur industrial region. The Chief Minister invited the Union Home Minister to attend the program as the Chief Guest. Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah assured positive action on all proposals presented by the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister reiterated that the Uttarakhand government is committed to realizing the vision of a 'New India' under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He also stated that the continuous guidance and support of the Central Government is providing new energy to the development of the state.
