Hero Vida VX2: Hero MotoCorp has officially launched its new most affordable electric scooter, the Hero Vida VX2, in India on the 102nd birthday anniversary of Dr Brijmohan Lall Munjal, the founder of Hero Group. The company has introduced two variants – VX2 Go at Rs 99,490 (ex-showroom) and VX2 Plus (Rs 1.10 lakh ex-showroom), aiming to cater to a wide range of buyers with flexible pricing and ownership options. According to Vida, a petrol vehicle costs around Rs 13,688 per year to run, whereas a Vida VX2 electric scooter only costs Rs 1,564 annually, saving you approximately Rs 12,124 each year. The running cost for a petrol scooter is based on a fuel price of Rs 100 per litre and a mileage of 40 km per litre, while the cost for the electric scooter is calculated using an electricity rate of Rs 10 per unit and a distance of 35 km per unit. From attractive subscription plans to impressive features and battery range, the Hero Vida VX2 is set to make a strong mark in the Indian EV market. Hero Vida VX2 Variants and Pricing The Hero Vida VX2 is available in two versions: VX2 Go VX2 Plus Customers can choose to either buy the scooters outright or go for Hero's Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) subscription model. Vida VX2: Specifications The Vida VX2 Go is available with a removable 2.2 kWh battery pack, which promises an IDC range of up to 92 kilometres on a single charge. It can run at a top speed of 70 kmph. On the other hand, the Vida VX2 Plus, which is the top variant of the electric scooter, is equipped with two removable battery packs with a capacity of 3.4 kWh. It offers an IDC range of up to 142 kilometres on a full charge. Vida claims the battery pack can be topped IP from 0-80 per cent in an hour with a fast charger, while a bundled charger tops up the battery pack from 0-80 per cent in six hours. It is capable of accelerating 0-40 kmph in 3.1 seconds and can run at a top speed of up to 80 kmph. Vida VX2: Practicality Via VX2 has been designed as an affordable and practical city commuter with an electric powertrain. Some of the practical design elements of the VX2 include a 33.2-litre under-seat boot and a handy front compartment. While the underseat storage allows ample space for bags, boxes, bottles and more, the frunk can easily accommodate keys, cables, a charger and more. Another practical design element is the long seat that offers a spacious sitting experience to the rider and pillion rider. Vida VX2: Design The Vida VX2 comes with a compact design. It may not be aggressive or sporty or eye-catching, but definitely practical. The scoter gets a dual LED headlamp setup with integrated bifurcated LED daytime running lights (DRL), just like the Vida V2. Shares of Hero MotoCorp are set to be in focus on Wednesday after the two-wheeler giant reported a 9.6% year-on-year rise in total sales for June, driven by a sharp recovery in exports and continued momentum in its electric vehicle portfolio. Hero MotoCorp's total sales rose to 5.54 lakh units in June 2025, up from 5.03 lakh units in the same month last year, the company said in a stock exchange filing on Tuesday. Scooter sales jumped 36.7% year-on-year to 41,305 units, compared to 30,220 units in June 2024. The company also recorded 3.94 lakh Vahan registrations across both urban and rural markets, underlining sustained domestic demand.
