YSRCP MLC Varudu Kalyani slams Andhra Pradesh govt on completion of one year, says women betrayed by NDA coalition

Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) [India], June 14 (ANI): Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Women President and MLC Varudu Kalyani slammed the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh as the coalition government completed one year of its rule in the state. She hit out at the government over safety issues, alleging failed promises, and scheme cuts. Speaking at a round table meeting organised today to discuss the impact of one year of NDA coalition rule, YSRCP MLC Varudu Kalyani highlighted several key concerns regarding women's welfare and safety under the current government. She stated, 'This meeting was focused on the welfare of women and the increasing atrocities against women under the NDA coalition government. Many women participants expressed their deep disappointment, saying they had trusted and voted for the coalition parties, only to be betrayed. Not a single major promise made by the current government has been fulfilled, and women's safety has been completely neglected. On average, 70 to 80 cases of atrocities against women are being reported every day in Andhra Pradesh. This alone reflects the deteriorating condition of law and order in the state.' She further added, 'In the last one year, the coalition government hasn't even conducted a single review on women's safety. In contrast, during our YSRCP government, CM Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy gave top priority to women's safety and implemented 99 percent of the promises made to the people. Our police were deployed to protect citizens and implement welfare schemes. But today, they are being misused to frame false cases against YSRCP leaders instead of ensuring women's safety.' Kalyani also pointed out the government's financial mismanagement: 'In just one year, the NDA coalition has borrowed Rs 1.65 lakh crore, while our government borrowed Rs 3.5 lakh crore over five years. They have already borrowed more than 50 percent of what we did in our full term.' She concluded by saying, 'We will continue to fight against this government until they implement the promised schemes. The people, especially women, are waiting for Jagan Mohan Reddy's return to power because of the good governance he delivered.' Criticising TDP leader Nara Lokesh, she remarked, 'When Jagan Mohan Reddy was Chief Minister, Lokesh used to oppose the education policies. But now, they've simply renamed our 'Amma Vodi' scheme as 'Talli Ki Vandanam' while failing to implement it properly for an entire year. Just before the elections, they announced financial assistance but deducted Rs 2,000 from each beneficiary. They promised Rs 15,000 but disbursed only Rs 13,000. This clearly shows their poor commitment and false promises. They should think carefully before making statements and honour what they say.' (ANI)

CM Naidu indulged in diversionary tactics: MLC Varudu Kalyani VIJAYAWADA: YSRCP MLC Varudu Kalyani lambasted the TDP-led NDA government for using women as pawns in its diversionary tactics. Speaking to the media at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli on Wednesday, she condemned the TDP for orchestrating attacks on Sakshi media offices by inciting women to divert public attention from the government's failures. 'It is utterly disgraceful that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu stooped to such low, using women to shield his administration's incompetence,' she said. 'The TDP is attempting to falsely put the blame on the YSRCP to further its malicious agenda. This is not just an attack on the media, it is an assault on truth and democracy. The coalition government is desperate to silence voices that expose its failures,' the YSRCP women's wing president said, emphasising that such conspiracies will not suppress the people's demand for transparency and accountability.

JSP celebrates NDA's one year in office as YSRCP observes ‘Vennupotu Dinam' in Vizag

Celebrations organised by the ruling Jana Sena Party (JSP), marking the completion of one year of the NDA government in office, and protest rallies, abuzz with anti-government slogans by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), raised the political heat in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday. The city thoroughfares were torn between the bursting of firecrackers and other celebrations by the JSP cadre and the protest rallies taken out by the YSRCP as part of the 'Vennupotu Dinam'. Led by YSRCP district president K.K. Raju, a massive rally was taken out from the party office to the collectorate. YSRCP leaders, including Rajya Sabha MP Golla Babu Rao, former MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar, Kola Guruvulu, MLC Varudu Kalyani, YSRCP corporators and cadres took part in the rally. Addressing the media, Mr. Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar stated that a large number of youth, women, and elderly people participated voluntarily in the protest rally to express their dissent against the NDA government. 'The coalition government has failed in meeting the expectations of the people. The ruling parties have reneged on all the promises made to women in the run-up to the elections. Schemes like Maha Shakthi, Thalli Ki Vandanam, and free bus travel are still on paper. Students were deceived as the government failed to reimburse their fees. With no steps to create employment, youth were cheated,' MLC Varudu Kalyani alleged. The YSRCP leaders also alleged that the NDA government was borrowing crores of rupees, but not using it for welfare schemes. On the other hand, the JSP North Constituency cadre organised rangoli competitions for the locals, as part of their celebrations. The JSP leaders stated that the end of the YSRCP government marked a new beginning for the State, paving the way for development under the NDA rule. They said that the people of the State had rejected the YSRCP as it could manage to win only 11 of the total 175 Assembly seats in the State. Under the leadership of JSP Visakhapatnam South MLA Ch. Vamsikrishna Srinivas, the JSP leaders burst firecrackers in the city.

Massive corruption in women's skill training programme: YSRCP

YSRCP MLC and the party's women's wing president Varudu Kalyani on Tuesday (May 6) alleged that a skill development programme for women in the State has been turned into a ₹254-crore scam. Addressing a press conference at the party office, Ms. Kalyani said the the skill development programme trains women from BC, EBC and Kapu women. The government, however, is turning the programme into a 'corruption goldmine.' She alleged that an attempt to misappropriate a sum of ₹157 crore was already on. The government deliberately sidelined reputable public-sector training institutions such as CEDAP, APITCO and DDU-GKY and awarded inflated tenders to its cronies in violation of norms, she alleged. While the actual cost of training and providing sewing machines is approximately ₹7,300 a woman, the government inflated the estimates to ₹23,000 a head, siphoning off ₹15,700 a beneficiary. The contractors received ₹25 crore as mobilisation advances, despite providing only 135 hours of training against the mandated 360 hours and failing to supply training kits. The Coalition government is favouring TDP-affiliated contractors, with 93% contracts awarded to L2 and L3 bidders, bypassing the lowest bidder (L1), she alleged, adding: 'It's a systematic loot of public funds meant for women's uplift.' Ms. Kalyani demanded an immediate ACB investigation into the scam and vowed to fight for justice for the one lakh women cheated by the programme.
