Netflix's Wednesday confirmed for season three but fans all have same complaint
Netflix's Wednesday is set to return for its second season next month with show bosses confirming a third season with Jenna Ortega will also be on its way. Netflix's hit show Wednesday starring Jenna Ortega has been confirmed for a third season just weeks before season two is set to debut next month. Wednesday is returning for its second season on August 6 after the global success of the first season of Wednesday in 2022 saw it claim the title for the most-viewed English-language series on Netflix of all time. The announcement of the third season was made on the show's official Instagram page on Wednesday evening, of course. The poster cover shows Ortega, who plays Wednesday Addams, staring out into the distance with an ominous look on her face. Below her is Uncle Fester's hand holding a crystal ball with the number 3 on it. The words on the image read: "Bad things come in threes." The Wednesday account captioned the announcement: "Season 2 awakens in two weeks. Season 3 is the next omen, already in motion, already inevitable." Part one of season two is set to drop in less than two weeks time on August 6 while part two will arrive later in the year on September 3. Season three has not been given a release date as of yet. Fans of the show were left delighted with the update as they raced to the comment section. An update One excited follower exclaimed: "WEDNESDAY SEASON 3 CONFIRMED?? I'm breathing black glitter right now." Another chimed in: "This has made my day. I can't express how freakin' happy I am right now. Every day is Wednesday!" A third joked: "I'm rising from my grave after seeing this." A fourth added: "And season 2 hasn't even come out yet this is amazing!" Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Someone else gushed: "Counting down the days till Wednesday returns and already looking forward to season 3!! Is there a season 4 in the works? I hope so." However, elsewhere on X, formerly known as Twitter, other viewers appeared to not get too excited about the announcement as they all made the same remark about how long it will take to be released. Replying to the tweet posted by Netflix which announced the news, one wrote: "Too long of a gap between each season, half of the audience is already gone." A third made a similar remark as they wrote: "So we can expect it around 2030..." Another echoed: "I hope we don't have to wait 12 years for season 3 like we have for season 2." Somebody else joked: "Airing 2040 with 8 episodes." The first season of Wednesday aired in November 2022 and was a colossal hit on the streaming platform. However, fans have now been waiting almost three years for season two, which appears to have left many viewers disgruntled by the long period between seasons. Hopefully the wait will be worth it though as Season 2 of Wednesday is set to explore darker, more complex stories, while also retaining the show's signature macabre humour. Co-creator and showrunner Alfred Gough said: 'We think Season 2 is funnier as well!' The second season will also see the Addams Family and Nevermore lore being expanded with mysterious new characters being introduced. Familiar faces including Morticia, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones, Gomez, played by Luis Guzmán, and Pugsley, portrayed by Isaac Ordonez are all set to return in expanded roles. Viewers will want to stick around for season 3 too, which promises to go even further, on every level. Gough said: 'Our goal for Season 3 is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can. We want to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday.' Co-creator and show runner Miles Millar added: 'We will be seeing more Addams Family members and learning more family secrets in Season 3!'

WEDNESDAY Season 2 Trailer: a Campus Stalker, Spiraling Psychic Powers, and More Woe
Our favorite little stormcloud who is full of woe returns again soon. Wednesday season two is a little less than a month away, and we cannot wait to see what other secrets Nevermore Academy holds. We know that her brother Pugsley will join in on the fun in some way. But what we didn't quite anticipate was Wednesday being a full-fledged celebrity, which is what happens in the series' newest trailer. In the clip, the Addams family returns to Nevermore only for Wednesday to discover that things are different. She's like a local celebrity after basically saving the day at the end of season one, with other students forming a fan club around her. Yes, we're talking fan art and all of that, which makes Wednesday very uncomfortable. She has black tears coming from her eyes during her visions, one of which includes Enid's death that's apparently her fault. There's something else brewing at this special school and we will have to wait and see what's going on. If the trailer is any indication, we are in for another mysterious and spooky ride with Wednesday. Wednesday season two will premiere Part 1 on August 6.

‘Wednesday' Season 2 Gets An Annoying Release Date, New Trailer
Wednesday At long last, Netflix has decided to tell us when Wednesday season 2 will be out, the follow-up to its most viewed English-language show (by a wide margin) in its history. The release date for Wednesday season 2 is annoying, namely because it's two release dates. Yes, despite moving away from this somewhat recently, Netflix is in fact splitting up Wednesday season 2 into two parts, the first release date on August 6, 2026 and the part 2 date will be September 3. The goal, of course, being that Netflix wants you to subscribe for two months instead of one, if you were reactivating just for that show. The two-part season will be split into chunks of four episodes each, matching season 1, but spaced out by a month. Netflix used to do this sometimes when production took longer than expected, but they starting doing it more for no real reason at all, other than subscription extension, the last few years. They have been easing up on it, however, as things like Squid Game season 2 did not air split up, and some series have reverted back to full binge airing rather than splits they'd done before. Netflix also released a brand new teaser trailer for the season, which you can watch below: And this is the official synopsis for season 2: 'Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega), returns to prowl the Gothic halls of Nevermore Academy, where fresh foes and woes await. This season, Wednesday must navigate family, friends and old adversaries, propelling her into another year of delightfully dark and kooky mayhem. Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is also plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery. Creator/showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar return for the spine-tingling second season of WEDNESDAY, alongside executive producer and director Tim Burton.' The second season will more heavily focus on Wednesday's family, including what appears to be the arrival of a much taller Puglsy. We're getting a lot of new cast members (yes, that was Steven Buscemi in the trailer) and it appears we are seeing the likes of season 1 villain Tyler return. Wednesday cements the idea that it is extremely hard to predict what will be a hit Netflix series, as a reboot of that decades-old show did not seem like it would have that potential.
