John Cena set to wrestle on WWE SmackDown for the first time in nearly three years
Image via WWE John Cena will wrestle on SmackDown for the first time since 2022. John Cena's farewell tour has been an exciting program to witness on WWE television programming. The Cenation Leader has wrestled some marquee matches against the likes of Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton. However, all those matches took place on major Premium Live Events. For the first time in nearly three years, The Unseen 17 will have his first battle on the blue brand next week. Who will John Cena face on WWE SmackDown next week? On the June 19th edition of Friday Night SmackDown, John Cena opened the show. He gloated about all his plans coming to fruition for his farewell tour. As he was basking in his own glory, Cena found himself in the ring with Cody Rhodes, LA Knight, and the returning Randy Orton. The Last Real Champion chose to leave the ring, but R-Truth launched an attack on him at the entrance ramp. It was similar to what he did back at the 2025 WWE Money in the Bank PLE when Truth came back following his release. Cena was furious and wanted to get his hands on the newly repackaged Ron Killings. The 17-time World Champion marched back to the ring to call him out. However, it was CM Punk who came out to confront him ahead of their match for the Undisputed WWE Championship at the Night of Champions PLE. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Memperdagangkan CFD Emas dengan salah satu spread terendah? As Truth had Cena locked in his own submission move, STF, CM Punk left the sight, saying, "I'm sorry, but the truth hurts." Following that, the former WWE 24/7 champion demanded a match against John Cena, which was made official for next week's show. This will mark his first match on the blue brand since December 2022. He had teamed up with Kevin Owens to compete against Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns. The duo emerged victorious, and that was Cena's only match that year. With the 17-time WWE Champion returning to SmackDown next week to compete in the ring, it will be heated tensions exploding in a huge showdown. WWE legend The Undertaker reveals he had secret heart operation after WrestleMania and recalls doctor's chilling words
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) WWE legend The Undertaker has bravely opened up about how a life-saving heart operation helped him escape death. The Hall of Fame wrestler, whose real name is Mark Calaway, retired back in 2020 after one of the most legendary careers in sport's entertainment. 5 WWE legend The Undertaker was forced to undergo heart surgery the day after Wrestlemania 41 5 The Undertaker's wife Michelle McCool revealed the details on the Six Feet Under podcast 5 The Undertaker had one of the most legendary careers in sport's entertainment He was a staple piece of WWE for decades and has since continued to give back through his Six Feet Under podcast and ambassadorial role for the company. In the weeks leading up to the WrestleMania 41 weekend in April, Calaway was quietly battling something far more real than the on-screen story-lines of the wrestling world. According to his wife Michelle McCool, the warning signs began in March, when routine cardiac tests flagged something off with her husband's heart. Follow-up checks revealed Taker had likely been in chronic atrial fibrillation (AFib) for an unknown length of time. He was eventually hospitalised for four nights with an ejection fraction (a measure of how much blood the heart pumps with each beat) of just 30 per cent — a dangerously low number for a man of his size and age. And yet, even with his heart rate unstable, Taker insisted on going to WrestleMania two weeks later, to be there for McCool's Hall of Fame induction — and to induct her personally. McCool, a two-time WWE Women's Champion, said on the Six Feet Under podcast: "You weren't supposed to go anywhere. You didn't want me to tell anybody. CASINO SPECIAL - BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS 'That's that old school mentality. I'm not mad at it — because I'd probably be the same patient — but it was terrifying. 'The next morning after returning home from WrestleMania, we were in the hospital in Las Vegas at 6am for a little bit of heart surgery." Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker left stunned by 'savage' crowd reaction at WWE Money in the Bank Taker, whose older brother died from a heart attack in 2020, then begrudging admitted: "I wasn't supposed to go to Vegas." McCool, who is Taker's third wife, added: "You didn't want me to tell anybody. I couldn't focus on anything else. "All I wanted to focus on was you, your heart, getting the best cardiologists, a lot of phone calls, several nights in the hospital. And by the grace of God, you are here. "But out of the words of the doctor himself 'it could have turned out badly if we had not found out that very day'." Taker then coyly joked: "Yeah, well now I'm as strong as a Bull." Before McCool, who is 15 years his junior, joked back: "And thankfully you can still pretend that you're a dead man. Because I saved your life." 5 Taker's wife McCool urged him to go for a routine check up in March

WWE Money in the Bank 2025: March card and bold predictions
The post WWE Money in the Bank 2025: March card and bold predictions appeared first on ClutchPoints. It's already time for the 2025 WWE Money in the Bank PLE, and it has a stacked four-bout card with two ladder matches — who will earn themselves a world championship match? Advertisement Plus, a year after announcing his retirement tour at the 2024 Money in the Bank event, WWE Champion John Cena will compete at his final iteration of the annual PLE. He will team with Logan Paul to face World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso and a returning Cody Rhodes. Aside from the two namesake ladder matches, there is a Women's Intercontinental Championship and high-profile tag team bout. Triple H loves a four-match card, and that's what fans are getting with Money in the Bank. 2025 WWE Money in the Bank match card and predicted winners Below is the full match card for the 2025 WWE Money in the Bank PLE. Note: the order of the matches has not been confirmed as of the time of this writing. Predicted winners are bolded. Advertisement Men's Money in the Bank ladder match: Seth Rollins vs. LA Knight vs. Penta vs. Solo Sikoa vs. Andrade vs. El Grande Americano Women's Money in the Bank ladder match: Alexa Bliss vs. Roxanne Perez vs. Rhea. Ripley vs. Giulia vs. Naomi vs. Stephanie Vaquer Tag team match: Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso vs. John Cena and Logan Paul Women's Intercontinental Championship: Lyra Valkyria (c) vs. Becky Lynch Can John Cena and Logan Paul co-exist? © Joe Camporeale-Imagn Images The match: Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso vs. John Cena and Logan Paul Instead of having John Cena defend the WWE Championship in what could be his last match in Los Angeles, WWE has him teaming with Logan Paul against Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso. It feels like a waste of Cena in his last run as an in-ring performer, but alas. Even if Travis Scott or The Rock interfere, I don't foresee the babyface team losing. Rhodes needs a rematch against Cena to get his revenge, and that can start with him pinning the champ. Expect Rhodes and Uso to win, setting the former up for a rematch at SummerSlam in August 2025. Advertisement Cena's 17th world championship has been fumbled. It should have been a moment celebrated by all WWE fans. Instead, it's been a dud in a storyline that was obviously constructed on the fly. Final prediction: Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso defeat John Cena and Logan Paul. Will it be 'Mami in the Bank'? The match: Women's Money in the Bank ladder match: Alexa Bliss vs. Roxanne Perez vs. Rhea. Ripley vs. Giulia vs. Naomi vs. Stephanie Vaquer Given WWE's recent moves, like cutting R-Truth and Carlito from their roster as part of cost-saving efforts, you'd think the marketability of Rhea Ripely winning Money in the Bank would be too great to pass up. Advertisement There certainly is a chance Ripley could win, but it'd cause a stir online. I think Ripley will come really close, but someone, whether it be Iyo Sky or someone else, will interfere and cost her the match. Giving it to a young star like Roxanne Perez or Stephanie Vaquer is another solid option. The briefcase could launch them to the main event as they did with Tiffany Stratton. However, I think Naomi is who WWE will go with. She is having the run of her career at the moment, and why not add fuel to the fire? She could steal the Women's Championship from Stratton with a cash in and head into a match against Jade Cargill and/or Bianca Belair as champ at SummerSlam. Final prediction: Naomi wins the Women's Money in the Bank ladder match. Third time's the charm for LA Knight? Hali Tauxe/IndyStar / USA TODAY NETWORK. The match: Men's Money in the Bank ladder match: Seth Rollins vs. LA Knight vs. Penta vs. Solo Sikoa vs. Andrade vs. El Grande Americano Advertisement For the third year in a row, LA Knight will compete in a Money in the Bank ladder match. Despite not winning either of the last two, he has remained perpetually over. It would be nice if WWE rewarded Knight for his efforts with a win. He's probably not the favorite, as Seth Rollins has a faction behind him that could interfere, but I think Knight will finally pull it off. Either Roman Reigns or CM Punk will cost Rollins the match. Heck, I could see both of them getting involved, as Reigns has unfinished business with both Superstars. While another Rollins run with the briefcase would be interesting, Knight has earned a chance to shine. Rollins will probably beat Uso for the World Heavyweight Championship at some point, but it won't be via the Money in the Bank briefcase. Advertisement As for the rest of the field, Andrade hasn't been important in months, ditto for Solo Sikoa since he lost to Reigns at the WWE Monday Night RAW on Netflix premiere on January 6, 2025. El Grande Americano would be unexpected, but there's no shot WWE pushes Chad Gable like that. Final prediction: LA Knight wins the Men's Money in the Bank ladder match. Becky Lynch, Women's Intercontinental Champion? Joe Camporeale-Imagn Images. The match: Lyra Valkyria (c) vs. Becky Lynch for the Women's Intercontinental Championship At one time, it seemed like a foregone conclusion that Becky Lynch would beat Lyra Valkyria for the Women's Intercontinental Championship. Their Money in the Bank showdown being a 'Last Chance' match — which means Lynch can no longer challenge for it for as long as Valkyria is champion if she loses — takes some intrigue out of it. Advertisement I still think Lynch will inevitably win the belt someday, but not yet. Her winning would help build Valkyria as a babyface in pursuit of regaining her championship. But we're still awaiting the return of Bayley, who Lynch took out to be Valkyria's tag team partner at WrestleMania 41. Unless WWE has no plans for Bayley at any point soon, she will probably attack Lynch, setting up a triple threat match between them at SummerSlam or the next Saudi Arabia show. Final prediction: Lyra Valkyria retains the Women's Intercontinental Championship. WWE Money in the Bank starts at 6:30 pm EST on Saturday, June 7, 2025. John Cena turns up in Lakers-inspired gear, beats up Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso with partner Logan Paul
WWE Champion John Cena and Logan Paul are set to team-up on Saturday at WWE Money in the Bank, and will face Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso. Ahead of the showdown, they confronted each other on the June 6 episode of SmackDown. But then it turned into a one-sided thrashing when Paul ambushed Uso from behind with a knockout punch. Cena also caught everyone's attention as he was wearing a LA Lakers jersey. Meanwhile, Cena ended the segment by talking to the live fans, who were chanting, 'We want Truth' at him, a reference to WWE's decision to renew R-Truth's contract. Cena responded, 'You can't handle the truth!' Recently, Cena opened up on his retirement plans. He said, 'My skills are on regress. If I continue at full physical involvement, I'm not going to run right. My partner's not gonna run right. Our relationship isn't gonna run right. Sorry, kid, it's time to close this chapter.' 'I used to do a clean and jerk with 330 pounds. That's a 300-pound snatch. I can't even do those lifts anymore because my body's so beat up. 'I wish I was 18. I wish I felt great. But I don't feel more at home, besides in the arms of my wife, than I do on the canvas,' he added.

CM Punk to Charlotte Flair: 7 wrestlers missing from the WWE Money in the Bank 2025 list
WWE Money in the Bank (MITB) is back. John Cena and Cody Rhodes will be in a massive tag team as part of the show and a Women's Intercontinental Championship between Becky Lynch and Lyra Valkyria has also been announced apart from the traditional ladder matches. Despite these progresses, a couple of key names seem to be missing from the roll of players who will have a shot at grabbing the briefcase on top of the ring. CM Punk Perhaps the biggest shocker for MITB fans came when WWE legend CM Punk was missing from the list of those scheduled to compete. Punk's decades-long feud with Seth Rollins could be a potential contributing factor to this, although no confirmation has been provided for the same. Sami Zayn Sami Zayn's defeat in Saturday Night's Main Event has led to him being kicked out of the MITB championship this year. However, his creative team's claims of preparing him for something much bigger leave room open for Zayn to be part of a tag team against Seth Rollins' faction at SummerSlam. Charlotte Flair Although there are no personal feuds pending to Charlotte Flair's name, her loss at the qualifying match on the blue brand and dearth of matches in the ring have left MITB out of her plans this year. Jacob Fatu United States breakout champion Jacob Fatu has things going as well as they could be. His work on the blue brand and recent performance left many puzzled as to why Fatu was left off the roll for no reason but he doesn't seem to be in any urgent need of MITB fame as well. Finn Balor Finn Balor lost his qualifying match to Seth Rollins. Despite his numerous television appearances, the industry still hasn't granted him sufficient premium live event opportunities. Fans are still hopeful of the possibility that WWE might include Balor in the SummerSlam. Liv Morgan As one-half of the reigning Women's Tag Team Champions, Liv Morgan's absence from MITB seems to stem from her Judgement Day drama. Reports suggest that the possibility of Dominik Mysterio betraying her to partner up with Roxanne Perez is not off the table. Morgan is scheduled for a feud against Iyo Sky soon. Jade Cargill A feud with Naomi and Tiffany Stratton and a loss in the qualifying match against the former seems to have put MITB out of Jade Cargill's cards. Her return at Elimination Chamber 2025 and a blue brand moment at WrestleMania were recent successes in Cargill's career. Many speculate that she may still be present at the MITB match to lower Naomi's chances of winning. The championship is scheduled to take place on Saturday (June 7) at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California at 7:00 PM ET (4:00 PM PT).
