19 Of Oliva Pope And President Fitz's Hottest Moments From "Scandal"
When Fitz and Olivia were caught making out in the Oval Office, thus beginning the seven-season-long journey of their torrid love affair: When I tell you I screamed when I first started this show — I thought that Olivia and Fitz fell in love over time NOT THAT THEY WERE OPENLY HAVING AN AFFAIR! IN THE WHITE HOUSE! From that moment on, I was a changed 1, Episode 1: "Sweet Baby" When Fitz requested, no, DEMANDED for Olivia to call him by his name: Up until this moment, it's been "Governor Grant" and "Ms. Pope." But this moment on the campaign trail, this was when they became MORE! Fitz really hit her with the "call me by your name and I'll call you by mine." Season 1, Episode 7: "The Trail" When Fitz asked to spend "one minute" with Olivia on her couch before returning to their real lives: "One minute" became a house code for Fitz and Olivia. Whenever things got to be too much and they needed a pause to just be two people in love, not a president and a campaign fixer/gladiator, this was their code to one another. Dare I say, whenever they asked the other for "one minute," it was more intimate than any other thing they've done on this list. Season 1, Episode 7: "The Trail" When Fitz and Olivia, ahem, christened the Oval Office on Fitz's first night as President: Messy? Yes. Would I have it any other way? Absolutely not. When Fitz told Olivia that she was never his "mistress" but, rather, "the love of [his] life": Call him what you want, but you can't call him a man who's not in love! Season 1, Episode 7: "The Trail" and Season 2, Episode 8: "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" When Fitz and Olivia confessed their love for one another while touching the Constitution: We The People ship Olitz until the end of our days. Season 2, Episode 8: "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" When Olivia briefly broke down in Fitz's closet while he was in surgery following his assassination attempt: When I tell you my heart broke while watching this love of her life is fighting for his life and she only has this ~one minute~ to break down. (Spoiler alert: Fitz makes it, but Olivia didn't know he was going to at the time!)Season 2, Episode 8: "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" When Fitz told Olivia that he "waits" and "watches" and "exists" for her: Shonda Rhimes is the queen of writing men who YEARN!Season 2, Episode 8: "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" When Fitz and Olivia got it on in the electrical closet — sure, he was mad at her, but his body still wanted her! At this point in the series, Fitz and Olivia have been on the outs for 10 months following his election scandal coming to light, but this just goes to show that all it takes is one look!Season 2, Episode 14: "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot" When Fitz took Olivia to Vermont to show her the house he built for them: In a perfect world, Fitz and Olivia would have escaped from all their problems and made jam in Vermont together in that exact moment, but alas, we had four more seasons of the show to go at the point, so we the audience had to be patient. Season 3, Episode 8: "Vermont Is For Lovers, Too" Whenever Fitz and Olivia engaged in their late night phone calls: He called her. On the phone. Every night. And she would wait up for him. Every night. Season 4, Episode 7: "Baby Made A Mess" When Tom told Olivia about the power she has over Fitz: Tom, who was Fitz's personal body guard until it came to light that he killed the president's son, barely said three words before this conversation with Olivia. But this convo? What's 4+4 because Tom ATE! We as the audience saw Fitz and Olivia with our own eyes, but this is one of the rare times that we got to see Fitz and Olivia through another person's eyes. Season 4, Episode 7: "Baby Made A Mess" When Fitz almost went to war in order to get Olivia back: Call me toxic, but this is hot. Olivia didn't agree, but she cannot deny that this man loves her more than he loves his country. Season 4, Episode 13: "No More Blood" When Fitz gave Olivia his family ring since he couldn't exactly give her another certain kinda ring while married to Mellie: On the day of Cyrus' wedding, even though Olivia and Fitz are on the outs, Fitz gives Olivia his family's ring — one he was supposed to give to his wife, but never did (AND THIS WAS BEFORE HE MET OLIVIA). They were meant to be before they even knew the other one existed. Another nice tidbit about this ring is that we see Olivia wearing it from the PILOT and we, the audience, don't find out the significance until four seasons later!Season 4, Episode 17: Put A Ring On It When Olivia showed up to the White House finally ready to be with Fitz: Four seasons in the making! Never mind that it all went to shit the following season — for one blissful moment, we were happy!Season 4, Episode 22: "You Can't Take Command" When Fitz sat with Olivia and "watched her choose him": So often in the series, we saw Fitz's actions when it came to choosing Olivia over Mellie, over his job, over his country. This time, she chose him. She allowed for Abby to throw her under the bus in the press room in order to protect Fitz's reputation and, in turn, give them a future. If that's not love, than I don't know what is! Season 5, Episode 3: "Paris Is Burning" When Fitz and Olivia got married (in their alternate timeline): What is a fantasy? Yes. Did I eat it up? Also, yes. Season 6, Episode 10: "The Decision" When Olivia gave Fitz this very public goodbye as he exited the White House at the end of his term: It was bittersweet, but after two presidential terms as scandalous lovers, it was nice to see them have a moment in the sun 6, Episode 18: "Transfer of Power" When, after seven seasons of trials and tribulations, Fitz and Olivia can just be: The show ended on an ambiguous note, but I'm choosing to believe that Fitz whisked Olivia off to Vermont so they could finally live their lives 7, Episode 18: "Over A Cliff" Watch all seven seasons of Scandal on Hulu.

The military code being used to mock Donald Trump

To improve your experience update it here "Foxtrot Delta Tango" is the phrase that has been making the rounds online in the last few days, confusing plenty of Australians who aren't familiar with the military-inspired slang that has become popular in the US. Here's what it means and why it's being used as a political statement. US President Donald Trump's controversial military parade sparked division over the weekend. (Getty) The phrase "Foxtrot Delta Tango" is currently being used by people in the US and abroad to express the sentiment "f--- Donald Trump", without being explicit. Foxtrot, Delta and Tango are all code words in the NATO phonetic alphabet, used to communicate the letters of the Roman alphabet. They represent the letters F, D and T respectively, so "Foxtrot Delta Tango" stands for FDT. It is unclear where the phrase originated, as "Foxtrot Delta Tango" may have many other meanings outside expressing opposition to the US president. Recently, it has circulated broadly on social media platforms like TikTok and X (formerly Twitter), making its origins hard to pin down. Though the NATO phonetic alphabet is widely used in the US and other militaries, Foxtrot Delta Tango isn't an official military term nor is it used exclusively by military personnel. Military slang using phonetic codes isn't new and many such slang phrases have become common outside the military, such as "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot", which stands for WTF or "what the f---". Opposition to Trump isn't new and people in the US and abroad have been making political statements against the commander-in-chief since before his first stint in the Oval Office. The phrase Foxtrot Delta Tango may have seen increased use lately in response to Trump's involvement in and promotion of the US Army's 250th anniversary parade last Saturday. The massive and controversial parade coincided with Trump's 79th birthday celebrations, a detail that drew criticism from some US military personnel. At the same time, massive "No Kings" demonstrations were held across the US to protest the president and his military parade.
