US attack on Iran ‘enhanced leverage' for Trump
Former US ambassador William Courtney claims it was in America's national interest to bomb Iran and its nuclear facilities. 'For several decades, the West and international community have tried to negotiate with Iran to stop the program or at least limit it,' Mr Courtney told Sky News Australia. 'In 2015, there was an agreement to slow the program down. 'Unwisely, the US pulled out of that agreement, and the Iranians have expanded their capability. 'What Israel did and what the US did, both should enhance the leverage of the West to get an agreement that either limits the enrichment or maybe even ends it in Iran.'
