Stray Kids Push Multiple Albums Back To The Billboard Charts

Stray Kids return to the World Albums chart with multiple projects, as Hop, Ate, 5-Star, and ... More Rock-Star appear, as 'Chk Chk Boom' reenters to its respective list. In this image released on October 6, 2024, Changbin, Seungmin, I.N, Felix, HAN, Hyunjin, Lee Know and Bang Chan of Stray Kids arrive at the American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Gilbert Flores/Penske Media via Getty Images) Just last month, Stray Kids released its new EP, Hollow, but the project didn't make much of a commercial impact in the United States. The K-pop superstars have scored several No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 with studio efforts largely performed in Korean with some English. Hollow is the band's fourth Japanese-language set, and typically, Japanese-language musical efforts don't receive the same love in America as Korean-language ones, even if they come from superstars. Just weeks after Hollow arrived, Stray Kids return to one Billboard ranking with multiple projects, as fans are still buying and streaming the boy band's work — they're just not focusing on the newest title. Stray Kids Albums Return to the Same Billboard Tally Several recent Stray Kids efforts reappear on the World Albums chart this week. 5-Star and Rock-Star reenter the list at Nos. 22 and 23, respectively, sitting side-by-side as they break back onto Billboard's ranking of the most-consumed 'world' releases in the U.S. Stray Kids currently fill four spaces on the World Albums chart. In addition to 5-Star and Rock-Star, Hop and Ate also continue to appear, landing at Nos. 7 and 10, respectively. The lower-ranking of those two titles climbs back into the top 10, inching up from No. 12. Stray Kids' Dominance on the World Albums Chart Stray Kids have now collected a half-dozen No. 1s on the World Albums chart. The group has pushed 16 projects into the top 10, and a little less than half of them have ruled the ranking. That list includes Hop, Ate, 5-Star and Rock-Star, which have all spent months on the tally. 'Chk Chk Boom' Also Returns As two projects by Stray Kids reappear on the World Albums tally, the band also finds its way back to the World Digital Song Sales chart. On that list, 'Chk Chk Boom' reenters at No. 9 after once conquering the ranking, becoming another leader for the K-pop favorites.

BTS Doubles Up On A Billboard Chart In The Midst Of A Hiatus

BTS scores a pair of wins on the World Albums chart as Proof rises and Love Yourself: Tear returns, ... More even though the group is on hiatus. (Photo by Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic) BTS is still on hiatus, as several of its seven members continue to fulfill their mandatory military service in South Korea. Some have completed their time, while others remain enlisted, leaving the group unable to reunite in the studio, at least for the time being. Despite this pause, the band's devoted fanbase has continued to consume the septet's music. Listeners keep streaming, buying, and supporting the band's already-popular releases, keeping the band's name alive on various charts week after week. This time around, the K-pop favorites double up on one ranking and match with several other powerhouses on a tally the boy band has dominated many times before. BTS manages to double its total number of current wins on the World Albums chart, the Billboard tally that has long been a home for K-pop acts. The band fills two of the 25 available spaces on the list, which ranks the bestselling albums in the U.S. that are largely performed in a language other than English or Spanish. The group's compilation Proof improves this frame, climbing from No. 9 to No. 7. At the same time, an older release, Love Yourself: Tear, finds its way back to the ranking. That full-length reenters the chart at No. 23. Neither of BTS's present albums are new to the World Albums chart, and both have already spent time at No. 1. BTS has conquered the roster with many efforts throughout the years, and Proof and Love Yourself: Tear are among the most successful. Between the two, Love Yourself: Tear is the longer-charting. That project has now spent 208 weeks on the list, while Proof — a compilation made up of previous hits, fan favorites, and a few new cuts — has thus far racked up 147 frames on the tally. Released in 2022, Proof arrived as something of a celebration of BTS's incredible career up to that point. The triple-disc set includes dozens of songs from throughout the band's run, as well as a few fresh additions like 'Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment),' which served as its lead single – and almost cracked the Hot 100's top 10. Love Yourself: Tear predates Proof by several years, as it arrived in 2018. The effort became a pivotal release for the band, featuring smash hits like 'Fake Love,' which helped solidify BTS's power and popularity in America, and earned the group the first-ever K-pop No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Only a few acts manage to claim more than one spot on the World Albums chart this week, and BTS ranks among them. The band joins three other musical names that fill a pair of positions apiece: fellow K-pop outfits Le Sserafim and Stray Kids, and Afrobeats icon Wizkid.
