2025 Jacksonville Jaguars' roster preview: WR Chandler Brayboy
With offseason programs now behind us, we will be getting a jump start on our training camp preview by going player-by-player through the Jacksonville Jaguars' 91-man roster. Going alphabetically, up is UDFA wide receiver Chandler Brayboy. Chandler Brayboy's profile Height: 6-1 Weight: 199 Age: 23 NFL experience: Rookie College: Elon No. 15 2024 Snap Count totals in college Offense: 563 Special teams: 49 2024 PFF grades Offense: 75.7 Special teams: 62.5 2024 Season Review This past season was a career year for Brayboy, who had 90 targets, totaled 979 yards, and scored eight touchdowns. Among eligible wideouts at the FCS level, Brayboy was one of the best at picking up YAC, ranking 12th in that category, averaging 7.4 yards after the catch, per PFF. Advertisement Brayboy played six seasons at Elon and was a regular contributor on offense over the last four. He has experience lining up both outside and in the slot. Along with his contributions on offense, Brayboy was a kick returner as well. This included averaging almost 36 yards per return this past year with two touchdowns. Looking ahead to the 2025 season We know at the receiver position for the Jaguars that the first four roster spots are accounted for between Brian Thomas Jr., Travis Hunter, Dyami Brown, and Parker Washington. Depending on whether the Jaguars roster five or six receivers, that leaves one to two spots up for grabs. Advertisement With this being a fairly inexperienced position group beyond the top four on the depth chart, that creates opportunities for undrafted rookies, like Brayboy, to make a mark. In doing that, special teams contributions will be a key part of that equation since that is likely where the bulk of the playing time will come from for the fifth and sixth wideouts on the depth chart. With that said, given what we know right now, the practice squad is the likely ceiling for Brayboy in Year 1. For starters, he's making the jump from the FCS level to the NFL, and landing on the 53-man roster includes surpassing an experienced player like Trenton Irwin, along with Josh Cephus, who is a returning player and has caught some attention during offseason programs. Lions WR Jameson Williams emerged as one of NFL's top YAC threats in 2024
Jameson Williams took a big jump for the Detroit Lions in his third season. The speedy wideout topped 1,000 receiving yards for the first time in part because of his ability to run after the catch, something the Lions utilized much more than they had in Jamo's earlier years. Williams ranked fourth in YAC among receivers with at least 50 receptions in the 2024 season, according to NFL Next Gen Stats. Plays like this one against Seattle certainly helped. Incorporating Williams into more crossing routes and layered concepts plays into his world-class speed and ability to leave defenders chasing at his increasingly distant heels. That change in Jamo's role is reflected in his average depth of target, or ADOT. In his first two seasons, Williams' ADOT was 16.0. In 2024, that dropped to 11.2. Williams becoming a more versatile receiver, adapting from being a straight vertical threat into someone the Lions could trust to handle more intricate route concepts, helped him explode into a much more useful and dangerous option. While the departure of offensive coordinator Ben Johnson to the Chicago Bears has some worried about the offense, Williams might actually take another step up under new coordinator John Morton. In Denver, where Morton (and passing game coordinator David Shaw) coached in 2024, the Broncos were masters of using Sean Payton's offensive scheme, deploying speed horizontally as well as vertically. Players like Marvin Mims and Troy Franklin thrived after the catch by getting room to run on crossers, drags and keen spacing between receivers. That's precisely where Williams took his big step forward in 2024 and is poised to progress even more in 2025.

Jacksonville Jaguars' free agent addition continues to impress Liam Coen
Following the Jacksonville Jaguars' first OTA practice last Monday, wide receiver Dyami Brown was one of the players who caught the attention of head coach Liam Coen. Now, over a week later and four practices in, Brown continues to impress Coen. Advertisement "He's been great, man," Coen said on Tuesday of Brown. "He's made a lot of plays. He's been really productive throughout this whole camp so far. Showing versatility to maybe do some things that he hadn't put on tape in the past or wasn't asked to do from his skill set standpoint. I thought obviously very productive towards the halfway point of last year, into the playoffs, and then you see that confidence continuing to grow throughout this camp and this offseason." The Jaguars signed Brown to a one-year, $10 million deal during free agency. On paper, his overall production throughout his time in Washington isn't going to leap off the page. His most productive regular season as a pass-catcher came in 2024 when he totaled 308 receiving yards. However, as GM James Gladstone described after the addition, the Jaguars see an ascending player in Brown, who totaled 229 yards during Washington's playoff run last season, and someone who can take another step with the opportunities he can earn in Jacksonville. Brown adds another vertical presence to the Jaguars' offense, which will help free up Brian Thomas Jr. to impact other levels of the field more often. With Brown's speed, he can also get the ball on shorter area throws in space and create chunk plays with his YAC ability. Advertisement "He's been doing a nice job of being able to run vertically but also being the nuanced route runner with some of the daggers and in-cuts and things like that," Coen added. "He's been very locked in this entire time. I've been very impressed with the pro that he is." Of course, the caveat here is that it is still early and the pads aren't on, but Brown is off to a quick start, and that is noteworthy. Jacksonville Jaguars' 2025 UDFA profile: Elon WR Chandler Brayboy
In addition to their nine draft picks, the Jacksonville Jaguars signed 22 undrafted rookies as well, following the 2025 NFL draft. Just as we did with each of the nine selections, let's take a closer look at each of the Jaguars' UDFAs. Up next is wide receiver Chandler Brayboy from Elon. Chandler Brayboy profile Height: 6-002 Weight: 205 40 time: 4.47 College profile What to know about the Jaguars' UDFA signing Brayboy spent six seasons at Elon, and over the last four, he's been a big part of the passing game. He finished his career catching 62% of his 262 targets and averaged an impressive 16.3 yards per catch with 19 touchdowns. Advertisement Throughout his career, Brayboy has ample experience playing both out wide and in the slot. This includes spending most of his snaps outside in 2021 and 2022 before primarily lining up in the slot the last two seasons. The 2024 season specifically was a career year for Brayboy, who had 90 targets, totaled 979 yards, and scored eight touchdowns. Among eligible wideouts at the FCS level, Brayboy was one of the best at picking up YAC, ranking 12th in that category, averaging 7.4 yards after the catch, per PFF. Along with his contributions on offense, Brayboy was a kick returner as well. This included averaging almost 36 yards per return this past year with two touchdowns. Chandler Brayboy's scouting report Lance Zierlein: "Brayboy's athletic traits warrant a peek at the tape. He has good top-end speed and really impresses with his ability to separate from coverage. However, his ball skills fall well below NFL standards with spotty ball-tracking and inconsistent hands. He's fearless and fast in a straight line, though. His potential as a kick returner will need to be his entry point toward getting a chance in the NFL."
