(For Representation) To bring about more transparency, the UP Cabinet on Thursday made an amendment in the recruitment process of assistant professors in government degree colleges. Briefing the media about changes brought in the rules, higher education minister Yogendra Upadhyay said the process of appointment to the post of assistant professors in the government degree colleges of the state has been changed. Upadhyay said the amendment to the Higher Education Service Rules has been approved. With the introduction of written examination in appointment, there will be no complaints of discrimination and it will bring in greater transparency. In the proposal, the weightage of written examination will be 70% and that of interview 30%. The CM, however, has asked to reduce the weightage of interviews further. A committee has been formed to recommend it. The weightage of the written will be increased to more than 70%. The minister said the UP Cabinet on Thursday amended the Rule 15 (3) of Uttar Pradesh Higher Education (Group-A) Service Rules, 1985, and included the written exam (subjective type) in the selection process. This amendment will be applicable under the UP Higher Education (Group-A) Service (Third Amendment) Rules-2025, a spokesperson said. The proposal was aimed to bring improvement in the appointment process of assistant professors. The UP Cabinet also took a step towards establishing a private university in the meeting of the council of ministers held under chief minister Yogi Adityanath. The establishment of Dr KN Modi University in Modinagar in Ghaziabad district has been approved. 'This university will be established by Dr KN Modi Institute of Pharmaceuticals Education and Research Trust that will be spread over 20.45 acres of land in village Bisokhar and Begumabad Budana, in Modinagar tehsil,' the minister said. According to the proposal, the Uttar Pradesh Private University Act, 2019, will be amended and the Uttar Pradesh Private University (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 2025, will be promulgated, after which the operating authority letter will be issued to the university. He said it is an important step to promote quality higher education in the state, which will provide employment-oriented education to the local youth.

The results were declared by UP's Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay and Minister of State for Higher Education Rajni Tiwari at Dr Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University. While announcing the UP BEd JEE 2025 results, Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay praised Bundelkhand University for its exemplary use of technology, calling the examination process transparent, timely, and efficient. He also extended his congratulations to the entire university team for successfully conducting the exam. Candidates can check their scores via the official website at This year, a total of 3,44,546 candidates registered for the entrance exam, held on June 1, with around 89% turnout. The exam was conducted in 751 centres spread across 69 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Out of the total registrants, 1,96,700 were women and 1,47,846 were men. In the first shift, 3,05,331 candidates appeared, while in the second shift, 3,05,099 turned up to write the paper. The exam authority deployed nearly 12,000 high-tech CCTV cameras and 3,600 biometric devices to ensure transparency and curb malpractice. Attendance was verified using facial recognition, fingerprint scans, and AI-powered real-time biometric systems. Over 3 lakh candidates clear UP BEd Joint Entrance 2025

letters@ A total of 3,04,980 candidates have qualified the Uttar Pradesh BEd Joint Entrance Examination 2025, the results of which were declared on Tuesday. Of the 3,44,546 registered candidates, 3,05,332 appeared for the exam held on June 1. There are 605 seats in 7 government colleges, 7,545 seats in 107 aided colleges, and 2.30 lakh seats in 2,221 private BEd colleges across UP. This year, Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, conducted the entrance examination. The counselling dates and fees are yet to be announced. The results were declared at Dr Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University by UP higher education minister Yogendra Upadhyay and minister of state for higher education Rajni Tiwari. The ministers also interacted virtually with the top 10 rank holders and congratulated them for their outstanding performance. Top three candidates from Varanasi division Suraj Kumar Patel, from Mirzapur district, topped the exam with 362.662 marks out of 400. A science stream student, he expressed his joy at receiving a congratulatory virtual call from the minister. 'It was a huge morale booster to get a call from the minister, which we never expected. As I've topped the exam, I've only cleared the first hurdle. I now have to prepare for future challenges,' he said. Shiba Parveen, from Bhadohi, secured the second rank. The 20-year-old science stream student shared her long-standing passion for teaching. 'I sincerely love teaching and wish to inspire children to learn all they can,' she said, adding that she had enrolled in a private school to help her prepare for the exam. Shivangi Yadav, a 21-year-old arts stream student from Jaunpur, secured the third rank. Expressing her happiness, she said, 'I plan on pursuing higher studies like the MEd and more. I dream of becoming an Assistant Professor.' Coming in fourth was Pradumn Singh Yadav, a 25-year-old science stream student from Ghosi. Deeply inspired by his father, who is also a teacher, he said, 'I've always been interested in teaching—ever since I was a child. Both my family and I are really pleased with the result.' Ministers emphasise role of teachers as 'Gurus' During the virtual interaction, minister Yogendra Upadhyay urged students to aim to become 'Gurus, not just teachers.' He emphasised the importance of guiding society with wisdom and compassion, saying, 'A guru doesn't just impart knowledge but also provides direction, values, and life guidance. This is the true purpose of education.' He highlighted how the Yogi government has ushered in a new era of transparency, quality, and innovation across departments. 'Ever since the Yogi government took office, a new era of change has begun in the state,' he said. The higher education minister also underlined efforts made to ensure transparency in the examination process. He noted the use of biometric attendance, AI-based monitoring, and live surveillance as steps taken to eliminate malpractice and ensure fair conduct. Minister of State Rajni Tiwari echoed these sentiments, stating, 'The UP government is committed to ensuring transparency, technological innovation, and quality in education.
