Andy Robertson fires brutal X-rated training rant at Liverpool kid as Scotland skipper shows off his cheeky side

The veteran defender was heard giving 16-year-old academy star Rio Ngumoha a dressing down during a training exercise Scotland captain Andy Robertson appeared to let his competitive streak get the better of him by slating a Liverpool team-mate in an X-rated training ground rant. ‌ Arne Slot 's side are gearing up for the defence of their Premier League title with a tour of Asia and will take on J1 League outfit Yokohama Marinos on Wednesday after losing 4-2 to AC Milan last weekend. ‌ And ahead of the game, Robertson - who is into the final 12 months of his contract at Anfield - could be heard giving 16-year-old starlet Rio Ngumoha a stern telling off during a training exercise. ‌ In footage shared on X by The Redmen TV, the teenager appeared to lose the ball, promoting Robertson, 31, to bellow: "Ah Rio, f****** complacency ya wee d***". The rant was clearly in jest, with the Tartan Army hero recently talking up his younger teammate. ‌ Ngumoha became the youngest ever player to start a game for Liverpool when he lined-up in an FA Cup clash against Accrington Stanley back in January and former Dundee United and Queen's Park full-back Robertson has predicted a big future in the game for the England youth international. Speaking about Ngumoha and fellow prospect Trey Nyoni in an interview with The Anfield Wrap, he said: "He's a good kid and he's got a fantastic head on his shoulders, especially when he's got people like Mo [Salah] who can help him so much as well. "We always try to help him and Trey. ‌ "They're so young but they're such good kids and they've got a hell of a future ahead of themselves. "You can just see them coming on every time and the more they train and play with us, the more they just get better and better. ‌ "Obviously that's the last two games I've played now with Rio in front of me and he just keeps on coming on. "He's got a hell of a future ahead of him but the here-and-now looks pretty good as well." Besiktas keen on signing Sint Truiden's highly rated Japanese midfielder

Sacha Tavolieri is reporting that Turkish giants Besiktas are keen on signing Joel Chima Fujita from Sint Truiden. The player is said to be keen on the move to Istanbul with a proposal that is almost too good to refuse on the table for the player. Tavolieri reports that the Turkish club are now in discussion with the Canaries about a transfer for Fujita. For the player, a move to a side the size of Besiktas is a no brainer, especially if he wants to play for Japan at the World Cup next summer. Losing Fujita would certainly be a big blow for Sint Truiden. The Japanese midfielder is a key player in central areas defensively and has performed well since making the move to the club from Yokohama Marinos back in 2023. Since then, Fujita has played 63 games for the club and scored once. While prone to a yellow card, his all action style in central areas is crucial for sides that want to win the ball back in midfield and transition quickly to attack. Compared to other players in his position in Belgium, Fujita won more defensive actions than 88% of his fellow defensive midfielders. GBeNeFN | Ben Jackson

Aussie icon Ange Postecoglou unrecognisable in special video tribute

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has received a touching tribute from his first ever club after his historic Europa League triumph. Postecoglou, 59, led Spurs to their first trophy since their 2008 League Cup win under Juande Ramos and lived up to his promise that he always wins silverware in his second year at a club. The Aussie tactician's stunning run continued after enjoying similar success with the likes of South Melbourne, Australia, Yokohama Marinos and Celtic before moving to Spurs. And Thursday's 1-0 victory over Manchester United at San Mames in Bilbao led to an incredible tribute from the South Melbourne outfit where he started both his playing and coaching career, as The Sun reports. The Australian club shared a stunning three-minute clip showing the Tottenham boss' rise from humble beginnings all the way to his trophy-laden managerial run. South Melbourne tweeted: 'Ange Postecoglou – the man, the myth, our legend. 'From his early days as a Hellas junior, to a championship-winning captain and coach, Ange has gone on to become a serial winner wherever he's been. 'His football journey is truly one of a kind. Now, he stands as a European champion with Spurs. Here's a look at his incredible journey.' Set to the beautiful, somewhat haunting track appropriately called Awakening by Secret Garden, the video showed Postecoglou looking completely unrecognisable as a child and later with a moustache, goatee and rich curly hair. The Spurs boss is also heard explaining how it all started, with his parents having to leave Greece in 1970 during the country's military dictatorship for a better life in Australia. The former defender started out at South Melbourne in 1978 as a youth player where he spent a total of 15 years and won two National League titles in 1984 and 1991. The Greek-born head coach's stint with the Aussie outfit also holds a special place in his heart as he worked under the legendary Ferenc Puskas. The Hungary and Real Madrid superstar managed the Melbourne club from 1989 until 1992. Postecoglou was Puskas' right-hand man and translator as the icon had a successful stint in Greece managing Panathinaikos and AEK Athens before moving Down Under. The Aussie tactician then took over as South Melbourne boss in 1996 following a short stint as an assistant coach and won three titles during his four-year spell in the dugout. And the rest is history as he then won the Asian Cup with Australia, the Japanese league with Yokohama and everything with Celtic before joining Tottenham in 2023.

AZ Alkmaar hat-trick hero eyes Hong Kong glory, Brighton knock out Aston Villa

Hat-trick hero Sem van Duijn said AZ Alkmaar positioned themselves as underdogs before outclassing Larne 3-0 to reach the HKFC Standard Chartered Soccer Sevens semi-finals in Hong Kong on Sunday. Dutch maestros Alkmaar were among the pre-tournament favourites following their recent Uefa Youth League exploits, when they lost 1-0 to eventual champions Barcelona in the last four. They were shocked 1-0 by hosts Football Club on the opening day of the Sevens, however, before scraping through their group with a decisive 3-1 victory over Leicester City. After his treble booked a clash with Yokohama Marinos of Japan, Van Duijn, 21, acknowledged Alkmaar initially struggled to cope with the blistering Hong Kong heat. 'It's twice as hot as at home right now, but we've got used to it and we're ready to keep going,' he said. 'Larne won their pool and we were second, so we knew it'd be a tough match.' Tempers flared on the field and on the sidelines as Northern Irish side Larne resorted to illegal means to try to neuter their technically superior opponents.
