Tension at KSEB office in Youth League protest over electrocution death
Kozhikode: A protest march organised by Muslim Youth League to the KSEB office in Mundakkulam near Kondotty turned tense after activists stormed the office of the assistant engineer, alleging official negligence in the electrocution death of a local. Neerad native Anakkacheri Muhammad Shah, 57, died after coming into contact with a live power line that snapped and fell into a plantation behind his house. Family members said they alerted the KSEB Mundakkulam section office earlier that morning, reporting that a teak tree fell on the power line during heavy rain and strong winds. However, officials didn't arrive in time to shut off the power, which, they claim, led to the tragedy. The protest began around 11am from Parathakad. A large police contingent from Vazhakad and Kondotty stations, led by DYSP P K Santhosh, was deployed to manage the situation. While police tried to block the march at the office entrance, protestors attempted to force open the shutter. A group of activists eventually entered the office through the rear door and raised slogans inside the assistant engineer's chamber. They were later removed and arrested by police. Youth League leaders said the assistant engineer, during discussions held in the presence of police, assured that action would be taken against those responsible.

Colby Donovan's key attributes that are impressing Brendan Rodgers
The teenager started the match at right-back, and although he was brought off at the break, when Stephen Welsh had to be withdrawn on 72 minutes through injury, Donovan came on to cover at centre-half. He then nodded home the winner in the dying embers, powerfully connecting with Mitch Robertson's header back across goal. Read more: "He's a boy who's very competitive, and I like him," Rodgers told CelticTV post-match. "I can see the development from last year when he played. He's very aggressive, he passes forward. He'll become a bit less rash as his career moves forward. "I like his personality and I like his dominance, and he can play football, which you have to be able to when you play for Celtic, and [it was] nice for him to get that winning goal." Donovan has yet to make his competitive Celtic debut. He played 30 times for the club's B team last season across the Lowland League and UEFA Youth League.

MKP Youth League convener apologises for 'ishangane' comments after backlash
MK Party Youth League national convener Qiniso Cibane has apologised for comments he made about the league's co-ordinator, Nkateko Mkhabela, during the launch of the youth league in KwaZulu-Natal on Monday. Cibane referred to Mkhabela as 'ishangane from Limpopo,' sparking outrage from social media users who argued that the word 'ishangane' is disrespectful and humiliating. The incident fuelled speculations that the MK Party is a Zulu tribalistic party. Responding to the backlash, Cibane said his words were taken out of context. 'What I said was taken out of context,' he said. 'The MK Party doesn't belong to KZN people only; it belongs to all nine provinces.' He said he was trying to defend Mkhabela from party members who were disrupting her while she was trying to speak. 'What happened was me stopping ill-disciplined behaviour, but there may be those who felt offended. I sincerely apologise. I was protecting Nkateko and protecting the party's constitution.'
