Odisha CM Majhi launches ₹550 cr infra projects in Ganjam, Infra News, ET Infra

CM lays foundation stone for Rs 550cr infra projects
1 2 Berhampur: CM Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday laid foundation stones for infrastructure projects worth Rs 550 crore during his visit to Aska in Ganjam district to attend the Yuba Shakti Samabesh, organised to mark one year celebration of his govt. The projects include five irrigation projects, road widening and a high-level bridge. He directed officials for preparation of revised detailed project report (DPR) for development of Tara Tarini temple, a famous Shakti shrine. Majhi said once completed the irrigation projects would irrigate 5,845 hectare of land in different blocks and asked officials to complete the projects in time. He said the govt has taken steps to set up a world-class industrial training institute (ITI) to provide skill training to the youth. The chief minister said the state govt has prepared the roadmap for development of youths in the 25 to 35 year age group. There will be a plenty of opportunities in different sectors for the youth in the state and asked them to take advantage and contribute to make Viksit Odisha and Viksit Bharat in 2036 and 2047, he added. Highlighting his achievements for the youth, he said his govt has decided to provide 11.25 per cent reservation for social and economic backward class (SEBC), govt jobs to 28,346 people and over 1.1 lakh job opportunities in the industrial sector. He said the govt would provide an additional 40,000 govt jobs during the current fiscal. Majhi said his govt has allocated Rs 4,100 crore to develop sports infrastructure by establishing a stadium in every block. "The time has come for youths to build a career in sports and make the state and country proud," he said. Among others, sports, youth and higher education minister Suryavanshi Suraj, commerce and transport minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena, fisheries minister Gokulanand Mallick, several MLAs and MPs addressed the gathering.
