Exclusive: Abhishek Bachchan says his first screen test was with Bipasha for Refugee

Abhishek Bachchan completes a glorious 25-year run in films this year. The actor, who made his debut with 'Refugee' in 2000, is currently promoting his upcoming film 'Kaalidhar Laapata', which is set to stream on an exclusive conversation with India Today, Abhishek opened up about the challenges of auditions and why the process still unnerves said, 'I am petrified of an audition because I'm terrible at it. As an actor, we do a lot of screen tests. We did screen tests for 'Refugee' as well. In fact, my first ever screen test was with Bipasha. She was a model then. We both screen tested for 'Refugee'."advertisementAdding that he would get butterflies in his stomach before an audition, he said, 'It's the worst. I get very conscious because I'm somebody who I would like to believe is a director's actor. So I really heavily rely on the notes that my director gives me."He further praised casting professionals for their ability to spot potential in auditions. "I actually have a lot of respect for the directors and casting directors that can actually see a spark in an actor during an audition. Because I think every actor will tell you that the audition is not even one per cent of what they can possibly do. So it's a talent to spot talent, but yes, I am petrified of auditions."Abhishek Bachchan made his acting debut with JP Dutta's Refugee opposite Kareena Kapoor. The 2000 film received two National Film Awards - Best Music Direction (Anu Malik) and Best Lyrics (Javed Akhtar).- EndsMust Watch
