Advice to Youth and Wanita leaders

Published on: Monday, July 28, 2025 Published on: Mon, Jul 28, 2025 By: Hayati Dzulkifli Text Size: Hajiji (7th right) taking a group photo with the eight leaders of GRS component parties and some 10,000 delegates of Gagasan Rakyat in its AGM on Sunday Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Hajiji called on all Gagasan Rakyat machinery from top leadership to the Women's, Youth and Beliawanis (Young Women's) wings down to grassroots to mobilise for PRN17 and win the hearts of voters, especially the youths. 'Work wholeheartedly for our beloved party. Use the time we have to stay close to the people. Listen to their heartbeat, understand their needs, and prove that Gagasan Rakyat is more than just a name. 'The time has come for us to enter this electoral contest with burning spirit and unshakable confidence, to fight for the people's welfare and the future of our beloved Sabah. 'God willing, we will return with a bigger, fresher, more meaningful, and more stylish mandate from the people of Sabah,' he said. Referring to the women wing as the backbone of the party he called on them to continue and intensify their on-going efforts particularly through the Ziarah Sayang Wanita initiative, a highly effective approach in reaching out directly to the people especially the grassroots. 'Our party becomes closer to the hearts of the people — and earns their trust — because of your presence at the very pulse of the community,' he said. He described the party youths as the warriors and protectors of its ideals and drivers of its fighting spirit. They must remain relevant and bold in their strategies, especially through the Gagah Muda (GAHMUDA) platform, which has now become the key avenue for engaging young voters creatively and strategically. 'I call on you to reach out to the 970,000 young voters — they are the voice of the future that we must connect with meaningfully. 'In addition, you must strengthen our party's digital presence. Social media and the digital sphere are the new frontlines of our struggle. We must fully master this space to ensure our message and ideals reach into the minds and hearts of the younger generation,' he said. As for the Young Women's Wing (Beliawanis), Hajiji who described them as the party's vibrant and energetic arm — a reflection of fresh potential – he said the party places great trust in Beliawanis to become agents of change, especially in winning the hearts of the 103,000 first-time voters — a decisive generation casting their votes for the very first time in the upcoming state election. 'Be voices of principle, vision, and readiness to shoulder leadership responsibility,' he said. * Follow us on our official WhatsApp channel and Telegram for breaking news alerts and key updates! * Do you have access to the Daily Express e-paper and online exclusive news?
