Platonic Season 2: Latest updates on release date, cast and plot details

By Aman Shukla Published on July 23, 2025, 18:00 IST Last updated July 23, 2025, 11:09 IST Alright, Platonic fans, the wait is almost over! The Apple TV+ comedy that had us laughing out loud with Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne is coming back for a second season, and I'm here to spill all the details. From when it's hitting our screens to who's joining the cast and what kind of chaos Will and Sylvia are getting into this time, here's the lowdown on Platonic Season 2. If you're as obsessed with their messy, hilarious friendship as I am, you're going to want to read this. When Can We Watch Platonic Season 2? Get ready to clear your schedule because Platonic Season 2 drops on August 6, 2025, on Apple TV+. They're kicking things off with a double-episode premiere, and then we'll get one new episode every week until the finale on October 1, 2025. Just like Season 1, it's a 10-episode run, so we've got plenty of Will and Sylvia shenanigans to look forward to. If you need a refresher, Season 1 is streaming on Apple TV+ right now, and trust me, it's worth a rewatch for those laugh-out-loud moments. Not subscribed yet? Head over to Apple TV+'s website to check out their plans—I won't bore you with the details, but they've got options for everyone. Who's Back and Who's New in the Cast? The heart and soul of Platonic —Seth Rogen as Will and Rose Byrne as Sylvia—are back, and thank goodness for that. Their chemistry is pure gold, like catching up with your best friend who always gets you into trouble but makes it so worth it. The rest of the Season 1 gang is returning too, including: Luke Macfarlane as Charlie, Sylvia's patient, lawyer husband who's just trying to keep up. Carla Gallo as Katie, Sylvia's mom-friend with the best deadpan delivery. Tre Hale as Andy, Will's buddy and brewery partner. Andrew Lopez as Reggie, the investor who keeps Will's business dreams alive. Rachel Rosenbloom as Jenna, Will's fiancée, who's now a big part of his life. But wait, there's more! Season 2 is bringing in some fresh faces that have me super excited. We've got: Aidy Bryant , Kyle Mooney , and Beck Bennett , all Saturday Night Live legends, popping in for recurring roles. No word yet on who they're playing, but I'm betting they'll bring some serious comedic heat. Milo Manheim from Disney's Zombies , who's also joining the party in a mystery role. These new additions are going to shake things up, and I can't wait to see how they mess with Will and Sylvia's dynamic. What's Going Down in the Plot? So, what's in store for our favorite platonic duo? Season 2 dives back into Will and Sylvia's world as they tackle the ups and downs of midlife. The official word is they'll be dealing with 'new midlife hurdles,' like work stress, wedding drama, and partners in crisis—oh, and apparently, 'sometimes rocks break things.' Sounds like their friendship is going to cause just as much trouble as it did last season, and I'm here for it. At the end of Season 1, we saw Will engaged to Jenna and landing a fancy new job in San Diego, while Sylvia was all in on their rekindled friendship. Season 2 will pick up on those threads, exploring how Will's engagement and Sylvia's family life (with Charlie and the kids) evolve. The trailer, which dropped on July 17, 2025, gave us a sneak peek, and let me tell you, it's wild. There's a scene where Will accidentally nails someone with a golf ball, and Sylvia's panicking on the phone with 911. Classic. One thing I love about Platonic is that it's sticking to its guns: Will and Sylvia's relationship stays strictly platonic. No tired will-they-won't-they nonsense here—just real, messy, laugh-out-loud friendship. Showrunners Nick Stoller and Francesca Delbanco are keeping it authentic, focusing on how these two navigate their 40s while still acting like overgrown kids sometimes. Call Of Duty 2027 will launch new franchise with martial arts theme says leaker

Activision is planning to launch a new sub-franchise of Call Of Duty in 2027 according to a prominent insider, the first in five years. There are very few surprises when it comes to Call Of Duty these days, both in its gameplay and the fact each annual instalment is usually leaked years in advance. As announced last month, this year's entry is another Black Ops sequel, Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7, from developer Treyarch. While nothing official has been said about the 2026 game, it's rumoured to be a sequel to 2023's Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, centred around Korea and made by Infinity Ward. While some hoped the following entry in 2027 would be a sequel to Sledgehammer's futuristic Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare, it seems the studio might be cooking up an entirely new sub-franchise. According to reliable Call Of Duty leaker TheGhostOfHope, the 2027 game will be 'set in a completely new sub-franchise' in the 'modern era'. While there aren't many details on what will separate it from Modern Warfare, movement is planned to be a 'big focus', which will include a lot of martial arts. 'There may be a focus on martial arts within the gameplay with 'karate kicks' and 'karate chops' as examples,' they wrote on X. It's unclear if this will still be a relatively minor element or some kind of elaborate Sifu-esque overhaul, but it's certainly a bizarre addition if true. Especially given how difficult it is to create meaningful melee combat in a first person perspective. EXCLUSIVE: COD2027 by Sledgehammer Games will NOT be Advanced Warfare 2 and will instead be set in a completely new during the Modern Jetpacks but movement is planned to be a big is currently not planned for the High is… — Hope (@TheGhostOfHope) July 17, 2025 The leaker claims the title, developed by Sledgehammer Games, will not feature jetpacks or Zombies mode. However, the parkour-themed mode Get High, which debuted in the studio's last Call Of Duty game Modern Warfare 3, is 'planned' to return. More Trending Not featuring Zombies is a major shift for the series, which has relied on it for its co-op mode for many years now. Although Zombies has begun to seem increasingly in need of an overhaul in recent sequels, so this may be an implicit acceptance of that. While we likely won't get confirmation of these details until around this time in 2027, Call Of Duty hasn't tried to launch a new sub-franchise since 2021's Call Of Duty: Vanguard, a Second World War shooter which fell below Activision's sales expectations. Whether the new game lands with the general Call Of Duty masses or not, the series is in dire need of some kind of refresh – especially as we've been stuck in a Black Ops and Modern Warfare rotation for the past four years. The next instalment, Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7, was officially announced during last month's Xbox games showcase, with a full reveal set to take place at Gamescom in August. 💥 Up, up and away! 💥

We're feeling pretty super, man. The Man of Steel is back on movie screens, and thankfully, this one's not a sourpuss: David Corenswet takes his turn with the cape and tights in James Gunn's "Superman," an exciting intro to the rebooted DC superhero universe. The character has been a pop-culture icon for 80-plus years, so anytime there's a new one, it's a big deal. Also worth watching is "Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires," the latest in Disney's teen musical franchise with rising star Milo Manheim. And speaking of kids, yours might be watching more than usual since it's summer break, so we've got new guides for what and how much to watch. Now on to the good stuff: See David Corenswet as the newest Man of Steel in James Gunn's 'Superman' I talked with a bunch of "Superman" cast members, and while they all say similarly, Rachel Brosnahan says it best about David Corenswet: "He is Superman." I had an in-depth conversation with the latest Man of Steel about bringing "dad energy" to the role as a new father and what qualities he shares with the big blue Boy Scout. "We can be a force for calm and reassurance and centeredness even in the most tumultuous times in life," Corenswet says. And he's the main reason why "Superman" works so well. Director James Gunn has created a highly enjoyable adventure in a busy universe that feels electric and meaningful. (Peep my ★★★½ review.) Also, as part of our round-the-clock "Superman" coverage, we've got an exclusive look at the Daily Planet, a parent's guide for those with superhero-loving kids, an updated ranking of the top 50 superhero movies, plus a rundown of the best screen Supermen. Stream Disney's 'Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires' with Milo Manheim As the father of a tween girl, I was an early adopter of Disney's "Zombies," the 2018 fantasy musical comedy about a football-playing zombie (Milo Manheim) going to a "normal" high school and falling for cheer captain Addison (Meg Donnelly). It was a breezy and fun flick that birthed a loyal fandom, more movies and more monsters (including werewolves and aliens). For the premiere of "Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires," Manheim stopped by our studio for a photo shoot, plus we chatted about his "weird" career and recent run as Seymour in the off-Broadway revival of "Little Shop of Horrors." Being in the show "fueled everything," he says. "It fueled my drive, my excitement, my passion. It also fueled my fear, for sure, but that's the best part of it." "Zombies 4" is among several new movies on streaming this week, a list that also includes the thrillers "Opus" and "Drop," plus Tyler Perry's latest "Madea" comedy. Get a handle on your kids' screen time this summer Summertime means no school for the youngsters and more hours to watch TV and spend time on various screens and devices. TV critic Kelly Lawler talked with doctors, media experts and television creators, exploring how to navigate screen time, what children should be watching, and the things that you may want them to avoid. She's included a guide to the best TV shows for elementary-age kids, such as "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man," "SpongeBob SquarePants" and "Percy Jackson and the Olympians." Kelly doesn't forget the adults, though: She has a guide to all the new TV streaming this week, like the return of Michael C. Hall's fan-favorite serial killer in "Dexter: Resurrection."
