Jenna Ortega Looks Like a Goth Angel With Bleached Brows and Waist-Length Hair

Jenna Ortega has been toying with bleaching her brows for a few months now. It's a dangerous game for most of us, but with a stellar glam squad to guide her, she's been making it look easy to pull off. It all started when she showed up at CinemaCon 2025 in April with nearly blonde brows that stood in contrast with her black-cherry hair, but that was followed by multiple appearances with darker brows. And now, she's decided to not only go all the way with the bleach but also totally change up the hair on her head, too. Ortega arrived at the season-two London premiere of Wednesday, of which she plays the titular role, looking like what you'd expect to see next to 'goth angel' in the dictionary if 'goth angel' were actually in the dictionary. She wore a faux snakeskin dress in a cream color that nearly matched her skin—much like her now nearly-invisible eyebrows. Surrounding her brows was a glowing, fully highlighted complexion with hints of deep, berry-tone colors on her lips, cheeks, and eyes. Her nails, however, recall the mannequin-hand trend of yore, blending in perfectly with her skin, but with a glossy touch. As bold as her bleached brows may be, we can make a pretty strong argument that it's her hair making the boldest beauty statement in this overall incredible look. It's truly not every day that you see Ortega wearing her hair more than a few inches past her shoulders, let alone a few inches past her waist. For the red carpet—or in this case, purple carpet—however, her hair dangled from a low, middle-parted ponytail with a massive knot that gave way to nearly two more feet of very loose waves. While it's unclear whether Ortega's brows are lightened up for a part or just on a whim, one thing is clear: She can look completely different tomorrow if she feels like it. I felt peer pressured into getting lip filler until I discovered a £5 buy that's just as good

I NEVER really paid much attention to my pout - in fact I'd always thought it was quite nice. That is, until lip fillers became a thing and a juicy pout was catapulted into trend fame thanks to the likes of the Kardashian-Jenner clan circa 2014. 7 7 Suddenly, as an impressionable teenager, I started closely analysing my lips - which compared to everything I was seeing on Instagram appeared flat and teeny. Years have gone by - and while I'm all for embracing and rocking your natural self, I still occasionally catch myself longing for slightly more volume; especially as quite a few people of my friends have had lip fillers. And it seems that I'm not the only one - as a whopping 24% of people want to alter their lips via fillers, a recent poll revealed. Lip fillers - commonly made of hyaluronic acid - may appear like a relatively quick and easy solution. But in reality, they can also go horribly wrong. Lip plumping glosses, on the other hand, are typically pain-free, much less expensive, and can create that little extra oomph you're after, working almost instantly. But can any actually match up to the plumping powers of lip filler? On the quest to achieve a juicier pout without needles and forking out a fortune, I tested out five high-street plumping lip glosses - one of which cost just £4.99. Barry M That's Swell XXL Lip Gloss 7 At a mere £6.99, Barry M That's Swell XXL Lip Gloss is certainly a significantly cheaper alternative to lip filler - which will set you back around £200 per session. The 100% vegan and cruelty-free formula - a mega win for me - is formulated with Sichuan Pepper and Ginger that help achieve that temporary plump look. Out of all the six shades available at my local Superdrug, I chose Honeyed Hue, which is perfect for a soft glam day-to-day look. I'm so obsessed with filler that my huge lips touch my nose - trolls can't understand what I'm saying, but I don't care While there was slight burning sensation - as expected with all lip plumping glosses - it wasn't unbearable and the tingling stopped in less than five minutes. Although I certainly did not end up looking like Kylie Jenner with her mega defined pout, I quite liked the subtle results. However, while my lips felt moisturised and not sticky the effect didn't last too long - but for the wallet-friendly price, you really can't complain. Pout of control rating: 3/5 L'Oréal Paris Plump Ambition Lip Oil 7 Enriched with hyaluronic acid and available in nine gorgeous shades with a glass like shine finish, it's easy to see why this L'Oréal Paris Plump Ambition Lip Oil has won close to five stars online. Priced at £11.99, the pout must-have is essentially a 3-in-1 - it has colour, helps with hydration and plumps your lips, albeit subtly. As expected, my pout tingled but it didn't have that nasty burning feel which makes you desperate to rub it off instantly. The skin-like colour is excellent, the product doesn't dry out and the gloss is stunning - but isn't sticky or tacky. As if that wasn't convincing enough, beauty buffs have also dubbed it a dupe for the viral Dior Lip Glow Oil - which sells for an eye-watering £33. Pout of control rating: 4/5 7 At just £5.99 - which is pretty much the same price as your favourite iced matcha this summer - the Revolution Shimmer Bomb Glimmer Nude is one of the cheapest options I stumbled across. But while dozens of people online have been loving this lippy, I simply couldn't see the hype. Yes, my lips did have the illusion of bigger slightly more plump - but the effect lasted less than ten minutes. So unless you're willing to reapply it several times throughout the day, I'd probably give this one a miss. Perhaps this was my fault for picking the wrong shade - but I also felt like the silver and light purple shimmer made my lips look almost dead or frozen. Pout of control rating: 2/5 Max Factor 2000 Calorie Lip Glaze 7 Currently slashed from £9.99 to a more affordable £7.49, this Max Factor 2000 Calorie Lip Glaze seems to have become a massive hit amongst hundreds of beauty buffs online. With more than a dozen different shades, from more neutral colours to vibrant picks, there's something for everyone. As someone who doesn't like bright lippies on my face, I opted for Pink Fizz which has a lovely subtle shine to it, without excessive glitter. With just one swipe of moisturising gloss, my pout was instantly transformed with a full shine, plump effect and maximum comfort without the dreaded stickiness. Not only was the tingling sensation barely noticeable but the gloss also has a gorgeous vanilla scent - but nothing too sickly. Out of all the picks, this lippy also delivered results that lasted the longest and I didn't have to rummage through my purse to reapply it every ten minutes. Pout of control rating: 5/5 Collection Gloss Me Up Juicy Infusion Lip Gloss 7 A juicy and hydrated pout with no painful injections and for just £4.99? Yes, please. This is exactly what Collection Gloss Me Up Juicy Infusion Lip Gloss is all about - and if you love packaging that takes you right back to Y2K, then this is definitely the one for you. The lip gloss - which makes you feel like you're munching on juicy strawberries - has a small applicator that makes it easier to apply the product without making a huge mess. The best part? There was no tingling sensation - it felt like a basic lip gloss to give your pout some extra shine. The only downside is the lack of colour options - online, shoppers can find a mere three picks: clear, a slightly pink and red.

The ‘Older Sister Side Part' Is This Summer's Nostalgia-Hitting Hair Trend

Long shunned and banished to the early aughts, the so-called 'Older Sister Side Part' hairstyle is so, so back. We called it as a key beauty trend this season from the catwalks for spring summer 2025 and beyond: Saint Laurent's side parts were brought with serious business in both cropped forms and with flowing, shiny waves by hair stylist Duffy, paired with statement suits. At Chanel's 2026 Cruise presentation, lead hair stylist Anthony Turner coiffed some gleaming, razor-sharp side parts ready for Mediterranean lounging. At the 2025 Met Gala, Hailey Bieber opted to side part her effortless waves, while everyone from Sabrina Carpenter to Bella Hadid has been playing around with their part. And while the ongoing clean girl trend has favored the symmetry of a middle part, the side parting offers something that can be both an elevated detail and a playful subversion of form. Regardless: Millennials, rejoice. The 'Older Sister Side Part' is inspired, of course, by the cool, effortless silhouette of the eldest sibling, and it's continuing its comeback in various forms. Here's how you can keep styling it in a way that doesn't feel like a tired out nostalgia hit. Why the 'The Older Sister Side Part' is hot right now A big sister cultivates a nonchalant aura, luxuriating in the wisdom of her rank and the freedom of the elder sister's status. The resulting hair look? It's preppy and strong. Separate the hair with a parting that's slightly off to the side—straight or more blurred, it's up to you—which creates a totally new look without having to reach for the scissors or hair dye. Adopted by some of cinema's greatest women, we're looking to Mean Girls's Regina George, The Devil Wears Prada's number one assistant Emily, and Trinity of the Matrix megaverse. These are side parts that guarantee charisma and confidence, emulating the assertive energy of an older sister.

Woman tries out the viral lip blush trend so you don't have to… and shows why it isn't the best idea

IF you've been on TikTok in the recent months chances are you've seen the viral lip blush trend - but for one woman it went horribly wrong. Essentially a permanent lipstick in the perfect shade designed for you, lip blushing creates a full blush of colour across the pout. 3 3 As well as serving as the ideal lippy, without having to reapply a conventional lipstick 24/7, lip blushing also adds definition and creates the illusion of more volume. A type of tattoo that adds colour and pigment, the viral trend can also be used to correct any asymmetry or pigmentation in the lips. With over 113million posts on TikTok, it's certainly become one of the biggest trends in the beauty world - but now woman woman has revealed why you should think twice before jumping on bandwagon. Nova Sterling, from Texas, the US, decided to give the trend a go - however, she may have got more than she had bargained for. Posting the epic fail on TikTok, Nova said: ''I decided that it was a great idea to go get my lips blushed today. ''No one told how crazy I was gonna look,'' the stunner said in the video, before revealing the jaw-dropping aftermath. Mortified at how mega plump her brand new pout was, Nova told social media users that she had ''work in two days''. ''Two days... Hopefully, they look fire by then because right now, this is not it.'' Despite Nova's hilarious reaction, swelling is a totally normal reaction after getting lip blushing and usually subsides within a few days. After you've had your lips blushed - a procedure that takes around 40 minutes to an hour - the total recovery process may take up to a month, explained the experts at Lisa Om. I'm so obsessed with filler that my huge lips touch my nose - trolls can't understand what I'm saying, but I don't care As well as having your lips balloon in size, it's also normal to expect some tenderness, intensifying of lip colour, a lot of dryness, minor peeling and more. While it may be tempting to touch your lips and even peel off some of the skin, it's strongly advised to not give into the urge, experts warned. The pros recommend avoiding direct sunlight, skipping a dip in the swimming pool, visiting a sauna and even keeping alcohol and salt away from your new pout. What are the risks of lip fillers? THE RISKS of dermal fillers depend on whether the procedure was done correctly and the type of filler used. The NHS recommends you speak to your practitioner about the risks beforehand. Serious problems are rare but can include: Infection A lumpy appearance under the skin, which might need to be treated with surgery or medicine The filler moving away from the intended treatment area, which may need to be removed using surgery Scarring Blocked blood vessels in the face, which can cause tissue death and permanent blindness You should see your GP if you have any complications that need medical attention and speak to your practitioner if you're not happy with the results or experience lumpiness. Source: NHS 'Wear a mask and say you're sick' Since being shared on the platform, where Nova posts under the username @ novasterlingg, the video has gone viral, amassing her a whopping 13.3million views. As over 953k people gave it a like, more than 4,000 viewers flooded to comments in sheer horror. ''That one scene in monsters inc,'' joked one person who compared the young woman to the animated characters Fungus. ''Hopefully you work for emirates?'' another chuckled. Someone else advised: ''Do a full face of make up and just act like you wanted to go all out today.'' 'It's so worth it tho!!! Wear a mask and say you're sick,'' a fourth suggested.

Guava Girl Summer is this season's mood-boosting beauty trend

Basking in the sun, lounging by the pool, maybe enjoying a balmy evening out with friends — the carefree spirit that takes hold around this time of year is the inspiration for Guava Girl Summer, the latest beauty trend celebs and the internet have dipped into. On TikTok, the tag "Guava Girl Summer" yields result after result of glowy sun-kissed makeup, anchored by cheerful pops of soft pink and coral — in a swipe of lip gloss or a touch of dewy blush. But why the sudden obsession with this tropical fruit? Over the past several years, we've seen an uptick in brands and influencers tapping into our tastebuds. Look no further than Glow Recipe's skincare line made with fruit extracts; Summer Fridays' cult-status hot cocoa, iced coffee and brown sugar lip balms; and of course, Hailey Bieber's glazed-donut nails. "Beauty and food are two things we like to indulge in, so why not pair them together?" Toronto makeup artist Lateisha Grant said. For Guava Girl Summer, this means beauty products that feature the fruit front and centre. 9 makeup trends to try in 2025 according to the pros Bieber perhaps unwittingly co-signed the trend when she posted a selfie in Guava Girl-like makeup. Dunkin' (yes, the coffee chain) is in on it too, launching a Tropical Guava Refresher in the vibrant shade. For Ariana Weldon, a beauty content creator based in Florida, the appeal goes beyond the coral-pink hue and glowy complexion. "It's more than a makeup look," she said. "It's a whole state of mind that reminds you of sunshine, summer sunsets and feeling your best." An easy way to tap into your inner Guava Girl is with blush, lip gloss or fragrance, Weldon said. For a monochromatic palette, she dabs some blush on the eyelids too. And Grant shared her techniques to take the look to the next level. For a Guava Girl lip, she uses a dark-pink liner, fills in the pout with a lighter pink lipstick and tops it off with a clear or pink gloss. For the cheeks, try using a trio of liquid blushes, with the lightest shade closest to the centre of your face and the darkest on the highest point of your cheekbone. She recommended always starting off with a small amount of blush and gradually adding to it to avoid ruining any makeup you've already applied. This will achieve the signature look, but is it suitable for everyone? Grant thinks so. "With the amount of blush releases we had last year, nearly every shade in every formula, there's no doubt in my mind a consumer could find the blush options to tailor this look to suit their skin tone," she said. While the trend may be fitting for the summer months, Grant thinks interest will die down afterward, especially with another competing trend — blush blindness — still going strong. "Guava Girl makeup will likely be overshadowed as these two trends are very similar in terms of blush application," she said. Weldon, however, is sure it'll stick around. "Sure, beauty trends move fast, but this one is rooted in a vibe that feels timeless for summer," she said. Whatever Guava Girl's staying power, it may be the summery boost you're looking for — in your makeup routine and your mood. Beach vacation not required.
