Man (60s) dies and woman (60s) seriously injured in Westmeath collision

A man in his 60s has died, and a woman, also in her 60s, has been seriously injured in a two-car collision in Ballinalack, Co Westmeath. The incident occurred on the N4 at around 4.20pm on Wednesday, July 9th. Advertisement The road is currently closed for a technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators, and local diversions are in place. The male driver of one of the cars was brought to Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar, where he was later pronounced dead. The female driver of the second car (60s) was brought to Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore, for treatment of serious injuries. No other injuries were reported. Gardaí have appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them. Any road users who may have camera footage, including dashcam, and were travelling in the area between 3.30pm and 4.30pm on Wednesday are asked to make their footage available to investigating gardaí. Anyone with information is asked to contact Mullingar garda station on (044) 938 4000, the garda confidential line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.

CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) – A multiple car collision has closed a section of Highway 80. Around 5:40 p.m. Chatham County Fire Department (CCFD) was dispatched to Highway 80 near Ft. Pulaski for a as multi vehicle rollover crash. Multiple agencies responded to the scene. Six people were transported to Memorial Hospital. Georgia State Patrol is working the scene. THOMSON, Ga. (WJBF) – One person is dead after a 2 car collision in Thomson. McDuffie County Coroner Paul Johnson tells us that 60-year-old Lisa Lazier was traveling eastbound on Cobham Road on Saturday when her vehicle was struck by a westbound SUV. Man arrested after 'car collides with number of pedestrians' in Leicester

A man has been arrested after reports that a car collided with a number of pedestrians in Leicester, police have said. Two men and two women have been injured following the incident in De Montfort Street shortly after 12.30am. The incident happened following a report of a fight at the same location, Leicestershire Police said. Three of those hurt are in hospital with serious injuries, while one man had minor injuries. Police have said it is understood that the suspect and the four victims involved in the collision had all been in attendance at a private event nearby prior to the collision. A 31-year-old man, from Leicester, has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and causing serious injury by dangerous driving following the collision. He remains in police custody where he is being questioned by detectives. The car believed to have been involved in the incident has been found in nearby Margaret Street and has been recovered as part of the investigation. Detective Inspector Jenny Tattersall said: "We understand the serious concern there will be about this incident. "Four people currently remain in hospital and an investigation is ongoing as we continue to establish the full circumstances and the events leading up to this incident. A man remains in police custody and will be questioned by officers. "A large cordon is in place in the area of De Montfort Street and will remain while enquiries, including forensic investigations, are carried out. "We do ask that people do not speculate about this incident, including on social media, in order to allow a thorough investigation to take place. "We have officers at the scene carrying out enquiries and providing reassurance. Please do speak with them regarding any information you may have or any concerns you may have.
