The Block's Darren Palmer sells Bondi Beach pad for a whopping $8.25 million - making a tidy profit on luxe coastal rebuild
The Block star Darren Palmer has quietly offloaded his luxe Bondi Beach home for a cool $8.25 million - more than doubling what he originally paid for the property. Palmer, 46, and his husband Olivier Duvillard, a cosmetics executive, finally closed the deal on their four-bedroom, four-bathroom sanctuary just metres from the surf after pulling it from auction earlier this year. According to the couple had listed the property on Sir Thomas Mitchell Road with a price guide of $7.95 million in April, but opted for a private sale after the right buyer failed to materialise on auction day. Their patience paid off. Celebrity agent Alexander Phillips secured the sale off-market to a buyer from their database - setting a new street record in the process. Darren and Olivier originally snapped up the 1930s Californian bungalow for $2.98 million in 2015 and completely transformed it in a major rebuild in 2022. The three-storey residence features designer finishes throughout - including a statement open fireplace, natural stone kitchen, a dreamy master suite, and an outdoor plunge pool framed by palm trees. 'This is actually the longest-term house I've had in my entire life, except for when I was a child,' Darren revealed in an interview with Home Beautiful earlier this year. When Darren purchased it in the mid 2010s, the home had already been raised to two levels before the author forged ahead with his own renovation plans. Darren collaborated with architect John Deuchrass and construction company Taste Living to completely rebuild the home after he bought it. 'The poor old house has a lot to be improved upon. I spent years imagining what it might be when it was completely done,' Darren told Domain. He went on to say he kept only one bedroom 'with the original 1920s horsehair plaster ornate ceiling' but ended up renovating the rest over two years. It's not the only property Darren and Olivier have offloaded recently. According to the actress and film producer have found a buyer for their Beverly Hills mansion as of June 30, 2025, just two months after it went on the market. The undisclosed buyer reportedly paid $18.2 million for the home, scoring the divorcing couple $8.3 million in profits, as they purchased the property for $9.9 million back in 2017. The original homeowners that Alba and Warren bought the property from didn't share the former couple's design taste, but Alba thought the home's bones were exactly what she was looking for. So, rather than wait for the buyers to stage the home, the businesswoman persuaded the family to move forward with a sale and worked closely with mother-son design team Kathleen and Tommy Clements of Clements Design to bring her vision to life. The California 'dream house,' as Alba so affectionately described it to Architectural Digest sits on 1.82 acres of land adorned with greenery and mature trees. The home boasts seven bedrooms and eight-and-a-half bathrooms; its primary suite is complete with a fireplace, a ginormous walk-in closet, a spa-like bathroom with a glassed-in soaking tub and shower, plus a sitting room overlooking the grounds. Additional features worth highlighting include a massive yet cozy home theater, a library, a sprawling, kid-friendly backyard with a shaded patio, an in-ground pool, and stylish cabanas for lounging, a gourmet kitchen with a breakfast room, and reclaimed wood and rare marble/stone throughout the rooms. In January 2025, the Honest Company founder took to Instagram to announce that she and Warren would be 'embarking on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals' after 20 years together. Less than two months after it first hit the market for $12.5 million, David Duchovny's longtime home in the coveted Point Dume enclave of Malibu has sold to an unidentified buyer for just under $11 million. And though that's considerably less than he originally wanted, it's still around $6.2 million more than the veteran film and TV actor paid Hollywood writer/producer Chris Carter for the landlocked 1950s spread nine years ago, back in spring 2016. Since then, the X-Files and Californication star has extensively renovated and expanded the premises. Most notably, he kitted out an existing train caboose where he went on to pen his 2021 novel Truly Like Lightning and record episodes of his Fail Better podcast. Brad Pitt is latest celebrity to be targeted as home ransacked by thieves
Brad Pitt 's Los Angeles home was broken into and ransacked by thieves. The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the burglary, which occurred at 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the Los Feliz neighborhood. An unknown amount of miscellaneous property was stolen, with the value of the items not yet clear. Pitt was not home at the time of the break-in, as he was promoting F1: The Movie. Police are searching for three suspects who reportedly climbed a fence and entered through a front window, part of a recent trend of burglaries targeting celebrity homes. The homes of Hollywood's biggest stars have been increasingly targeted by thieves in recent years.
